I remember fishing all night with no luck then getting a tailor at 1am cut it in half for bait and within 15 minutes it caught us a perfect eating size bronzie which made for a great feed. Awesome bait
Been chasing Jew for years. Gave up the beach the sand does my head in. Lucky enough to get a 1.18 17kg a few months back in Newcastle. 2-4kg rod, 2500, 10lb line. 2" grub. I now carry dpi tags
Awesome video, really inspiring me to keep chasing those Mulloway's! Beach fishing is my favourite method by far too, just being out there is enough for me actually but catching a Jew would be the icing on the cake.
The jewfish has always been elusive… have drifted off patonga/ Juno with live squid with no luck but near that fishing with both SP’s and live nippers bingo! All I generally catch are flatheads which 20% are thrown back cause they are over 70cm do get the occasional blue nose bream. Good show and yes I subscribed. And I am a chippy and have worked in the building industry for longer than I want admit. Have decked out the Cruiser and about to circumnavigate the east/southcoast to Perth and northern WA so your show is perfect! Keep it going 👍👍👍
Yes i have done alot of fishing for Mulloway and you sure have to put the hours in to get a result they dont come easy very often and there is no doubt that commercial fisherman have had a impact on the stocks and as well as many other fish species.
Pros don't catch that many Mullas mate and they aren't residential. The biggest impact on them is rec fishers which is why they are still prolific further from where most people are willing to go.
Mate...20kg of chicken pellets...Place in container. 5 litres of cheap cooking oil mixed with 1 litre of Tuna Oil...let soak for days and days if possible and keep ramming your arm into the container and stirring....Go to op shop...buy a heap of socks...fill socks with chicken pellets...bomb the swim...bring the fish to you:)
all my jewfish fishing is done off headlands with beach either side or beach n estuary either side in the far north of NSW n southern QLD using 7in to 10in soft paddle tails, mainly white. working the paddle tails in the gaps of the headland in the white water or sandy bottom coming into the headlands. rod seajigger 108H. reel saltist MQ 8000. best so far 138cm. keep these vids coming lads.
Liked the simplicity of the rig and the fact that the braid connection does not involve an FG knot. Uni knots whether single or double rarely fail if tied carefully and correctly and most importantly can be tied in the field with wet cold hands!
@@RoryShaw-s8k Horses for courses - less knots to break, more abrasion resistance and just the right amount of stretch to deal with big, angry headshakes but use whatever you have confidence in as that is part of the key.
For the Mulloway fishing , it was mentioned not having light on the water as it puts them off . The biggest light of all is the full moon wouldn’t you say , now you know why the full moon wasn’t in his favour for the Mulloway fishing , yes light is ok for some species but Mulloway is a bit finicky…..no light on the water as said. People need to pat attention when watching videos lol

Have always been a Daiwa fan and as such am interested if you can tell me why the first and second stripping guides on the Seajigger 1042 M rod are opposite set to each other….I mean, the guides have three “arms” and the first two guides they are set in reverse of each other. I know this may be a bit pedantic but looking at these mess with my OCD….LOL! Certainly looks the goods for a light lure tossing rod for sure.
They are set in reverse to minimise guide wrap with the line when coming off the spool. This method has been used for many years and by many brands/rod builders. completely normal :D
Thanks David…..there are so many different guide configurations out there now and I must admit I had never really noticed that configuration before. Thanks for the clarification.
We run many different configurations of guides depending on the style and function of the rods. The idea behind the reverse stripper guide is it minimise tangles and line slap on the guide frame as it flys off the reel. The Seajigger's all have a small diameter stripper guide in comparison to other rods. The first guides function is to choke the line and stop spinning through the to others toward the tip. This allows the line to rifle through the rest of the guides and give you optimal casting distances.
@@DaiwaAustralia …. I can understand what you are saying about “line slap” and minimising tangles but I have never experienced these prior on any Daiwa rods that I own…..I don’t know about the mechanics of the design of the Seajigger, but it is more the lack of symmetry and aesthetic of that particular rod which is why I asked the question. I still use two Daiwa two piece rods that are 42 years old now….I broke a tip section off one so I decided to shorten the top section further of both rods and make them nibble tips…..my go to when bait fishing for both estuarine and freshwater species. Thanks for the feedback.
Awesome video guys , enjoy the video , it’s surprising some comments asking questions about light on the water , if only they pay attention when watching the video they wouldn’t need to ask the question , ( face slap ) 😂 as for surfing , wow the waves where awesome , I never seen them like that at Stockton , great stuff .👍
We have a similar looking fish over here in the north east USA. Weakfish we call them because of their weak lips. man what a resemblance. Great Action 💯💪

Very informative video for those looking to catch Mulloway off the beach.
100% agree with NO LIGHTS ON THE WATER! Great vid 👌

Hello, thank you and bravo for this episode. fishing lures and natural bait with surfing.
Great, I hope other videos like these.

Nice capture. Um, were you fishing for bream at the time? A 2 inch grub doesn't sound like a Jewie lure.
@richardmason9097 it is our bream spot but we also get fatties in the 80 plus range. All about 0.5 depth
Fantastic video. Thank you.
Great video pretty much the same method i use off the sand in the west very informative video

This was a great watch! Hope you guys do one on Rock Fishing too. Maybe one with Alex Bellissimo!
Thanks Hai! We'll keep that in mind for our future films, definitely a character to have on camera with heaps of fishing tips and tricks to give out.
Glad you enjoyed it. Scroll down on the channel mate and there is one with Alex catching a few snapper of the rocks in Sydney 🤙🏽

Simplicity is often overlooked when rigging for sure. These rigs are definitely proven in the field and will seldom let you down.
Most people tie fg knots so there finger doesn’t get sliced by the braid and is a lot more comfortable to cast with leader than braid
@@RoryShaw-s8k I would ditch the braid altogether and run a quality mono like 25 lb J-thread.

Can this be done along the SE coast of qld. eg double island point stretch?
can I ask what rods he's using ive been looking for a good beach rod for ages

why is the southerly wind best?
how many kilos would a 1.41cm jewfish weigh
