Most Beatable Deaths in "The Belko Experiment"

- In "The Belko Experiment" the employees of Belko Industries drive to work to their isolated office building in Colombia. Shortly after arriving the PA system announces that the workers must kill each other until. After not taking the threat seriously, the doors and windows get covered in a seemingly indestructible metal and the company blows up a few of the explosive tracking chips each person inside has in their head. A short while later the office turns into a wild free for all which our protagonists Mike and Leandra must survive.
The fact that a former special forces operator lost to an average Joe was ludicrous.

So stupid. 🙄 Why not have Mike have the special forces background?
Weren't there 2 special forces op? I thought Mike was the second one
Early on in the movie, the employees were destroying the hidden cameras placed around the building which prompt the overseer to stop that. It's possible Mike pocket those explosives on their blind spot.
But, if you asked me, they should've frisked Mike before taking him in.
Once Mike killed Norris, my interest plummeted. I didn't buy that Norris would let Mike get the drop on him like he did. I also believe based on their characters, Norris would have had been more likely to think to collect the bombs to kill the antagonists, not Mike. I know they wanted to kill off the bad guys, and they probably didn't want the jerk to be the one to win, but the way Norris and the bad guys were disposed of felt very forced to have a more likeable character walk out alive.
I feel a more plausible option would have been to have whoever has the military background not to kill people due to it would trigger him, but be the one to collect the bombs after Marty and Chet get killed. Then when the showdown between the last two came, the military guy wins, he sadly gets pulled back into killing, and he snaps.
One of my all time favorite horror movies I'm so excited you're covering this!
As a finance guy and a horror enthusiast I've often wondered what I would do if my white collar office broke out into violence.

the worst part for the hiding girl is, if i remember correctly, she didnt have her chip implanted yet, so hiding would ve been key, might be wrong on that though
Nah I think she said at the beginning she had just gotten the chip implanted. I mean I wouldn't work somewhere where they install a sketchy chip into my neck but that's just me lol

The movie was entertaining although I was disappointed by the ending: I was hoping for a much cooler explanation for all this, but (Spoiler!) it was just an extreme social experiment and that's it? There could have been so much more :(
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the girl who was in the elevator didn’t have a bomb planted in her. She was a new worker and she didn’t get her “tracker” implanted. I only remember this cause I thought she would of been the final girl, and I was so mad when she died cause she easily could of won

I watched this a few weeks ago I love this movie just wish they made a sequel
8:41 To the woman's defence, weaponizing her sex appeal would actually be a viable strat against most males with no military experience (like ex-special forces guy). In Battle Royale (manga books, not the movie) there was a whole chapter about a girl who managed to seduce a guy and almost killed him during an intercourse they had with a razor blade she hid in her hair. Then she convinced guy's friend that he wanted to rape her. In the end, the girl got both of them killed, but these were high school students, not ex-soldiers who care only about carrying out the mission (and for the military guy the mission was survival).

"With no military experience" lmfao you must not know any actual members of the military. Sex appeal would work on them way better than the average civy; those guys are so repressed. Only branch it wouldn't work on is the navy because... you know... the navy.

Wait, all of these people would have died anyways, so what death is avoidable exactly? I mean, perhaps if things turned out differently then maybe someone else would have won the final contest, but that still means everyone -1 would die.

Kinda hard to judge the woman for not killing the guy from the Mentalist since a) not everybody is capable of killing someone and b) she can not know for sure that 30 others will be killed if she doesn't
Not everybody acts utilitarian.
I'm not surprised that she didn't kill him but she did know for sure that 31 others people would die since it was announced less than 2 minutes ago that it would happen. And she knows it's not a bluff because they already blew up people's head in the previous failed task.
You can argue that she doesn't know if someone else just died thus completing the 30 needed kills, but there probably would have been an announcement, and anyway it's too much of a risky gamble.
Now for the utilitarian part, sure, not everyone is that way, (people shouldn't be that way 99% of the time) and she didn't have to be that way if she didn't want to, but the guy actually tried to kill her boyfriend like 5-10 minutes ago, and he also just tried to kill her. If you don't kill him he might survive and your bf + 29 other people might die (including yourself) so you care more about this killer than your own life or your bf's? Or he might die and also 29 other people including yourself and your boyfriend, so saving him would have been really worth it eh?
I think it's a bit more complicated than utilitarianism and I think in this instance it's probably the better choice to kill him, but anyway it's all fucked and almost everyone is bound to die.

Nobody can be forced to kill. Even if it apparently cause the death of others if the person does not.
You can never, especially in such vulnerable and highly emotional situation, be 100% sure of consequences that are announced, implied or likely.
But you do know that if you smash somebody's head in, that person dies.
Not everybody has it in them, to be a killer. No matter the context.
Nobody should be.
But that's an ideal the world is not ready to be like yet, unfortunately.
