For me a very important new setting in the GH6 is that I can choose to keep changes to settings in Custom mode when the camera ist shut off or in sleep mode. With this, I can set manual exposure and other small things in manual video mode and don't have to keep the camera running. This actually saves so much battery in my use cases, that the batteries lasted longer than on the GH5. I use the setting that the changes in a custom mode are cleared to the original only when I change to a different custom mode. Another nice feature is the possibility to copy a custom setting back to the main settings. This allows modifications to remain long term.
1. Isn't there like an "overview" about all the settings and you can easily change these by touch? I use this when I have an external monitor. You can see everything in the Ext. Mon. and on the camera LCD all the settings very big. 2. There is like a focus limiter and a focus preset so you can change from point a to b to c.
I can’t wait to receive my S5II, I was only shooting on my iPhone before so I’m super excited to start this journey . I needed all those info. Thank you 🙏
Great video. Awesome tips about Panasonic settings. I just bought the Gh7. Could have gone to FullFrame S5ii but ... I love GH series but I should give a try to this camera
Great, truly extensive review!!! I borrowed almost all of them!! However, why do you think they suggest filming more current 4:2:2 bitrate videos with older AVC codec and older 4:2:0 bitrate with Newer AVC codec??
I'm wondering if you're doing live streams with a camera like this, how should you set up the camera? When you're live, outside, in houses, under a bridge, in the sun, back in a house and so on... you have to film in auto mode so that the camera really does everything, right?
Excellent, super useful. Do you ever use the two Zebras at once? Seems like that would be a lot of overlay on screen potentially, if I'm understanding correctly.
Hi Arber, thanks for the great video, great job! As many I am starting out and I am not sure if I should get the s5ii or the x version as I am yet missing knowledge about the advantages the X gives. Maybe you can help us out, trying to decide between the two? 1) RAW VIDEO HDMI OUTPUT - When do you really need this? Is this necessary when aiming to do social, wedding, short film and small commercials? 2) PRORES 422 / PRORES 422 HQ - They say long Gop is harder to edit than prores. I have zero experience with both coming from nikon. Firslty, whats the difference between 422 and 422 HQ? Also, if I understand correctly the s5 ii does not have prores as a codec today. However I have seen people say that you can record prores in 4k & 6k with an atomos ninja V or V+ with the s5ii and therefore don't need the X for PRORES if you use an external recorder. Is it really faster and is this correct or is long GOP enough? The X also allows all-intra recording, when is this needed? 3) USB SSD Recording - I heave heard people disliking the slow write speed of the s5 II sensor. Maybe you can give me example numbers on how big the 6k footage of a 60 min Interview would be and when SSD recording is truly needed? The other two differences (wireless steaming, usb tethering to smartphone) are clear to me, just adding them for others to see :) Thanks and keep going! 🎥
Im honestly going to say that a lot of the features I almost never use. Like on the GH6 I found the difference between pores and h265 very small. I Never Use raw on any of my cameras except the Blackmagic cameras. Same with the USB-recording. Its a good idea but I never use it.... So I would probably go with the normal S5II. However the price difference isn't to big... Hard to say =) best wishes to you!
Hi Arber, thanks a lot for this video. Great, how you set up your cam. You mentioned, that you put on maual focus to override the AF. When you turn the focus wheel on the lens, there could show up a magnification on the screen. Depending of the setting. Can you check, if the magnification disappears automatically shortly after you stopped to turn the focus wheel. Or will it stay - like in every other Lumix camera but not in ie Sony or Olympus ones - and you have to push a designated button to get back to normal view. Can the S5II compete against Sony a7sIII and a7IV?
Im not sure honestly, I don't have the camera right now but I will have it again in a week =) I think its better than the A7IV but I still think the A7sIII is better for video. The 120p in 4K is crazy nice, but if you don't care about that I would go with the S5II
Hello the MP4 pc mention is not what you think, it is just that most video app use mp4 that's all! So that is the same regarding mac or pc, and editing software don't complain on which of what! The better answer for viewers is that if they don't want to grade or edit there videos mp4 is the way but for editing the MOV is better because of the 24bit audio.... and by the way your sony make only mp4 files and your make handle it well! Maybe it is panasonic that is confusing
Hi Arber, I Need Your Help! Could you please tell me, if you have the same problem? In V-log with view assist on, in manual Focus mode i have a mini dots on the screen ? Looks like dead pixels or something. (dot colour depends from what colour is your peaking) Visable only in dark environment. Do you have same Problem or Bug ? Thanks
Mostly nice Video, sadly the Sony pulses like crazy when you get your fingers at the camera to change settings which is distracting. Maybe use manual focus? Seems that Sony users rely too much on AF now.
I Would love to know it there is a setting that you use that I haven't included.

Great video. Awesome tips about Panasonic settings.
I just bought the Gh7.
Could have gone to FullFrame S5ii but ...
I love GH series but I should give a try to this camera
Excellent video!
Thanx TRE!
I find the Q-Menu very convenient also because of the shortcut keys you may not remember what you memorized. The Q-Menu is quick and easy to use.
That's very true, I actually use it a lot!
What is the SONY doing at 4:53??? (Best AF on the market?: ehhhh not) 😀 btw: Great Video! Thank you.
Ha ha ha! True! I should have put it in manual focus =)
@@ArberBaqaj Yeah and damn I wasn't even at 14:04 haha. Do you will also do a video about Photo Settings and Features?
Thanks…that was great 👍

Can you share your setting for best LOT and how to install? Thank you for this video 🙏🙌
Can you have custom settings for both videos and photos and what's the quickest way to change between the video and photo modes
Yes you can! But it will take up an custom button =)
Nice video shqipe
Thanx my friend 👐
I’m doing a lot of S mode shooting lately, find it better when im filming solo! Great video! Can you sign my T-shirt?

Yes al the time =) its very seldom you see both, you have to prioritize what is more important, skin tones or highlights =)
Thank you for the detailed overview and tata ta ta taam. Can you record 4K, 10 bit, 4:2:2, H265?
Спасибо 🙌

Very nice review !! Background music if you change! It will be better. Thanks
Thanx for the feedback, have a great day!
what about the lense options on lumix camera..
Just brought A7IV a year ago, and now I will sell it for more features for less money... S5iiX makes more cents
That will be a great camera, how ever if you don’t need raw recording I would go with the normal s5II

False color is mvp when getting exposure you want right.

Very true, I had it on the wrong setting, thanx for the feedback!
Papapapapaaaa
50fps in full hd doesnt work in phase
The highest quality mines goes up to it is 4K has anybody else ran into this?!
Go to settings-Rec.File Format (3.rd film icom, from the top) and change MP4 to MOV 😉
that fucking music you play on sections transition gets really annoying quickly
But why?
