Hello, sorry man but the first native iso of the s5II is 640 not 800 ;)

You can freely use a 1/3 (360°) shutter in dark scenes without movement.

correct - you should use a WYSIWYG picture profile and use the bodies own NR instead of using LOG if you're really shooting low light. The built in NR will be superior (probably) to your NLE - you do not want to use both.

Hi, great video! I have a question.. what is the best profile for night video when Vlog is bad? I heard somewhere that Cinelike D2.. but not specific settings like brightness etc. Thanks

Thanks so much! I’d say cinelike is a good one. You’ll get a flat-ish image that allows for some colour grading whilst also not introducing too much noise in the shadows.
For low light I’d always recommend shooting at 4000 iso. By doing that you may even be able to use log 😎

Great Video! I'm currently using the GH5 and looking to upgrade to a new full-frame camera. I'm torn between the S5iix and the FX3. Do you think the extra cost for the FX3 is worth it? I’ve watched several footage videos from both cameras on UA-cam, especially in the music video genre, and I find Sony’s look much more modern and cinematic.

      Thanks so much!
So personally I believe you can create amazing cinematic with both cameras. My friend has an FX3 and it’s a sick camera. I used to want one also, but it’s also £4000. Quite a lot of money lol. The S5ii and S5iix are half the cost and have loads of similarities. The main thing is yes you can create cinematic video with the S5ii (I’m going to be making a future video to prove this!).
My current thing is that Sony does have way more lens choice right now. Not too much more but it does have more.
If you’re happy to spend the extra money on the Sony then go for it. But you could also use that extra 2K to buy some awesome L mount lenses. 😁

Great tips, I didn't know LOG introduces noise? Is this just a Panasonic thing as I haven't noticed that on Sony? - also, if you shoot a lot in low light, consider a Sony ZV-E1 with it's second dual native ISO at 12,800, it's crazy how good this camera is in low light!

Hey thanks! So technically it can with any camera. It tends to happen a lot when shooting in low light and it’s mainly because of people not exposing for the shadows. Its just something one needs to get used to is all, rather than trying to make the image look even, make it look brighter than normal to then bring it down in post and have an even image.
I love Sonys dual native ISOs 😍 they’re the low light king 👑

perche dovrei girare in bassa luce,? sempre e meglio illuminare la scena e il controllo della luce lo che garantisce un lavoro professionale.

just use v-log and iso 4000

    • @Markchristiankc
      @Markchristiankc  4 місяці тому

That’s typically what I do. But I did find it intriguing when my friend pointed out trying to not use LOG. LOG is still my favourite 🤩

@@Markchristiankcs5iix here. Do you ever get weird lines around lights in low light situations? Like light bouncing off your subject and causing weird anomalies.

      Hmm weird lines..like flares? Halation?

You know I dont know. Maybe it's the Amaron aputure light I am using. doesn't show in the shadows with sun light. Its like banding but its horizontally @@Markchristiankc

Maybe the lens (85mm 1.8) is too close to the light and subject? I dunno.. @@Markchristiankc

    Iso 640 and 4000, not 800

  • @JeffBourke

better than trying to memorise iso values, just switch your body to sex/gain then you can run your camera at 0dB and switch bettwen low and high gain circuit. You can also, easily use the other picture profiles without having to learn and memorise what the "iso" are for high and low etc. It's just a far superior approach. Also you do NOT need to use the 180 degree shuter rule. It's absolutely stupid to use 180 shutter for higher frame rates - absolutely braindead sorry. You're not going introduce "too much" motion blue if your shooting with a 1/60 shutter speed and 60 fps. People on youtube just parrot other youtube videos.
