I've been drawing all my life, but my drawings never got past the line art and base colors because I could never get the hang of painting and blending. But this tutorial was VERY helpful, now I have a better understanding of how to practice these techniques and hopefully apply them in the future. Thank you!
Just bought the ipad mini 5 today and I'm so excited that I can finally use Procreate!Thank you for your tutorial, hope I'll get use to procreate quickly.
You knocked this video out! I have been struggling with blending colors for a while now. And this one video was a game changer. I can’t thank you enough. So...... THANK YOU a million times.
I am a professional graphic/web designer who just got an iPad Pro for Xmas. Always wanted to learn how to draw/paint. Wow, is there a lot to learn! This video was extremely helpful. The meat and potatoes of learning the basics helps shorten the learning curve. I am subscribed and ready to follow along. Thanks much!
Thanks for unique ways to achieve blending. I appreciated being shown three good brushes to use. ( FYI stucco = STUCK oh. It's that rough plaster put on the outside of a house.) It's hard to tell that your English is probably your second language. I previously watched your Paint Bucket video and used the Gaussian Blur to soften shading on a sphere and it became the best I've ever done. I also realized that you had made the basis of a gradient brush and suddenly I felt I knew a lot more about making custom brushes. You demonstrate different methods very well.
Hey thanks for posting this video, I was looking for a nice blending tutorial for procreate. Thanks for going over how you do the diagonal strokes left to right and right to left then sometimes circular and then straight up and down. I’m going to start implementing that while I’m blending. Also thanks for the tips on using smudge tool vs using lower opacity brushes.
You mention the Flo Brush - I don’t see that as a brush in Procreate - is there a different name? Thanks for this great tutorial. Very well done and easy to follow.
That’s what sucks must about procreate there’s really few brushes you gotta make your own or buy them from others which sucks big time, it’s way easier with ibis paint
@@jonafave8167 idk what u r talking about 1. procreate already has A LOT of already installed brushes, there's over 200 brushes that they give u for free! 2. at least u can make brushes in procreate, u can't do that in ibis paint!
Thank you Ms.Flo really appreciate these tips for better blending. Love the way you teach & explain each exercise. Very very informative. I'm some years late on Procreate & 2 yrs late seeing this post but I've been a freehand artist since I was 5. Your teaching will live on, no matter who gets to class late. :-) 😀 Keep up the Great work Ma'm
Can you please do a video on where to put highlights and shadows? That would help me a lot! Sorry if you already have, and I just haven’t seen it, but I struggle with shadows and highlights, and you’re really great at teaching this kind of thing, so just a suggestion for you.
That pepper looks really, really lovely. I think the sharp edges and highlights of the pepper before it was blended looks very unique. I know the video was about blending and not the pepper, but if you could make a video on how you designed that pepper, that would be cool! 💕
Dear Flo, your lessons have been a real treasure for me. and although English is not my native language, you share your knowledge so easily and simply that I easily understand you. but it saddens me that I can't buy your brushes and additional lessons. My family is from Ukraine, but now we live in Russia, and because of the sanctions, I am not able to pay on patrion, my cards do not pass. I really hope for the world to come soon and for the opportunity to learn even more about digital painting with the help of your lessons. In the meantime, I will continue to take free lessons on UA-cam and will share the results on Instagram and mark you in my drawings, hoping that you will mark them on your channel. You are the best teacher for me.
Thank you Flo! I just got my new Apple Pencil a few days ago and I’ve been having some...complications with blending and I’m a pretty young artist so my patience is probably lower than a lot of other artists so thanks for your help 😁😁😁
hi Flo, which brush did you use for blending ? Can you please do a watercolour tutorial ? I find blending watercolour also very challenging. Dank je wel!
Hey, I don’t know what version of Procreate you are using, but I don’t find the brushes that you recommend in “Artistic”, ( gouache) I found that brush in Painting. It would be interesting to know what our differences are! And “Bonobo” I could not find at all in any of the brush categories! And the “Stucco” I found in the Painting category as well!
Procreate has undergone a few major updates since this video was released, so that may be why. OP also said in a comment that she's Dutch so that could also have something to do with it! Maybe language/translation settings?
Hi Flo, love your videos and can’t wait to try out these techniques when my apple pencil arrives - do you have a tutorial taking us through the motions of painting such a perfect nose though?? That would be amazing and a great place for inexperiences artists such as myself to begin.. thanks!!
Is the gouache brush a standard procreate brush? I don’t see it in my program along with some of the others shown. I have procreate on my iPad Pro. This is a lovely tutorial btw.
Thank you so much! =^o^= I'm still learning how to use Procreate, and can't find any good blending tutorials out there yet! I never thought to lower the opacity for the blending brush, definitely will give that a try!

That is so lovely to hear! 😀

Thank you so so much for going over how you directionally do blending so so much. I feel like I leveled up within two minutes of that explanation.
