Thanks again for featuring the podcast Crazy Burger and prompting a bit more conversation around this topic. Looking forward to getting you back on as our regular-ish guest!
These games are very much of their time and I remember playing them back in the day. Definitely would be welcome on the Evercade platform but suspect they'll keep the various IPs to their own cart and not mix and match. Great video as always and keep up the awesome work!
Soul Reaver was badass when it first came out. The dark, brutal tone of the game was not so common and that opening cinematic left an impression that has never left me. That cinematic doesn't look as good today quality wise as I remember but it's still looks good and hasn't lost the dark charm. I was so upset back in the day that it stopped on a cliffhanger that never was continued for the system I owned (Sega Dreamcast). If they bring this, I sure hope the sequel is included so I can finally experience the full game. I had Gex on Sega Saturn, loved it. The game was pretty unique in many ways at the time, at least for me it was and the talking gave a personality I fell in love with at the time. This is perfect for Evercade EXP play. I also had Pandemonium! on Saturn and while I loved it then, it was mostly for how the stages looked, which was something much different than I was used to seeing in a game. Over time the wow factor diminished, leaving an average game. I still have a fair amount of nostalgia for it though.
It sounds like the tomb raider cart sold well enough to warrant another release. Them titling it Collection 1 makes me think they were already planning on a collection 2 (last revelation and chronicles) later down the road.
Gex is getting a remastered collection on modern consoles soon(ish), so analogous to the Tomb Raider collection this seems like the most likely choice. A collection of the other two Tomb Raider PSX games seems like not enough for a collection on their own, so maybe they could add some of the handheld games? Similar problem with the other series, so maybe they could just spread them among multiple "Crystal Dynamics" collections?
As always you are spot on sir. But I think there will be possibly 3 further carts: Crystal Dynamics 2 will be the other Tomb Raider PS1/DC games Crystal Dynamics 3 will be a Gex 2 games cart with Undercover Gecko on it as well Crystal Dynamics 4 will be Pandemonium and Soul Reaver. Because of the size of the games, it'll be on the new larger carts and it will only be 2 games per cart. I know that I've not used the correct naming convention here as the 1st CD cart is called Tomb Raider but you get my drift Will still be cheaper to get them on Evercade however even at the £22.99 price point. Gex especially gets silly priced, I had it on the CD32! So cheaper than that at least
@CrazyBurger you didn't miss much! Wasn't the best console and the pad wasn't so comfortable. Sold it years ago as rarely used it...mine was boxed complete too. Would have made a pretty penny these days....
@CrazyBurger I didn't really get involved with the Atari ST/ Amiga generation either. I was off on the console route with the Megadrive! I've had an ST, Amiga & CD-32 and I never really took to them, even later in life. I guess they really need the nostalgia factor to draw you in.
CD32? Didn’t you mean 3DO? Crystal Dynamics was founded to create quality games for the 3DO. They moved to PS and SS when the console became unsalvageable.
Legacy of kane was a good game, gfx & atmospheric. For me never looked forward to playing the game. If gex was included with maybe compilation of crystal dynamics I'd fetch it. The gameboy version is still cheap to purchase for original h/w.
The Dreamcast version of Legacy Of Kain : Soul Reaver would be awesome to see. Supposedly the system can do Dreamcast games. It'd be nice to not have the dithering graphics of the Ps1 version. One can only hope though, but who kkows what Blaze has up their sleeves.
@@iansims2984 Cool. Same here and yeah ended up buying the same games again on PS1, curiosity got the better of us lol. Pandemonium was great on PS1 or course, on Saturn it was one of the better games when things started to dry up. 😄
Also I feel like Blaze missed an opportunity to add a bottom left thumb-sticks on the EXP-R. I would have considered getting one to play the Tomb Raider collection. I don’t think that it is gonna be an enjoyable experience on their current hardwares. Especially when the Tomb Raider collection has now a physical version on modern platforms!
@@CrazyBurger Fair point - And it was the same on initial release on Sega Saturn. However, it felt so much better playing Tomb Raider 3 with a Dual Shock 1.
The Tomb Raider collection is cool. Too bad that in September is coming out the Tomb Raider I-II-III remastered collection for Nintendo Switch (and other platforms).
I wouldn't buy a Gex collection. The feel of the controls always felt so off and annoying in those games. But hey, Blaze also gave us both Aero The Acrobat titles that aren't really good either. That said, I'd love to see the frist two Legacy Of Kain titles.
Not good news but thanks Crazy for sharing. 👍 They need to let Lara get her feet wet first before announcing any more PS1 games. We like pick & mix for our Retro, not the same flavour. 😉
Hopefully they're not talking about the Crystal Dynamics games that were released on the Panasonic 3DO. I had a friend with a 3DO, those weren't very good at all. Pretty terrible actually. 😂
I would like to see a Legacy of Kain collection but I hope they include the first top down one, Blood Omen. That one was awesome!
My favorite one actually.
I couldn't agree more. Blood Omen would be a great game for both the VS and the handhelds.
Really wanna see new arcade carts
Same, maybe we'll hear more news next week.
Thanks again for featuring the podcast Crazy Burger and prompting a bit more conversation around this topic. Looking forward to getting you back on as our regular-ish guest!
I hope they opt for the two Soul Reaver cartridges and not a cartridge with the lizard triology
They’ll go with Gex first. Blaze loves mascots, just look at quite a few of the carts; Peter Pepper, PAC-MAN, Zool, Aero and Glover.
I would love to see a separate Gex collection.
A complete Gex trilogy from the PS1 would be nice. The first one would work the best with the system's d pad, since it's the one in 2D.
Woah, I'd be so down for a Legacy of Kain cart!
A collection of the three games you have showcased would be fantastic. I would get a cartridge with these three games on it.
I want a Pandemonium 1 & 2 cart 👍🏻
Legacy of Kain surely? Having Blood Omen on Evercade would be a dream for me!
These games are very much of their time and I remember playing them back in the day. Definitely would be welcome on the Evercade platform but suspect they'll keep the various IPs to their own cart and not mix and match. Great video as always and keep up the awesome work!
Blood Omen is an instant buy

Great and insightful video as always

so reckon we will get the remaining two tomb raider games along with the Pandemonium games on the other GIGA cart
Would be nice if they implement a 16:9 Patch, works fine with Tomb Raider Games on the Mister.
Cool 👍 Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain would be nice.

@@simonpophale1250 I know, I realise it was a fail. But still looked cool. I could never afford any Amiga computer or console at that time.

I'd be down for Legacy of Kain and Pandemonium, but Gex is most likely. There already is a trilogy for consoles planned, just like Tomb Raider had.
I buyed evercade really in hope to see more early 3d games ported
I’d take a Legacy of Kain collection but I can do without the other two here! Good suggestions though!
Legacy of kane was a good game, gfx & atmospheric. For me never looked forward to playing the game. If gex was included with maybe compilation of crystal dynamics I'd fetch it. The gameboy version is still cheap to purchase for original h/w.
São jogos sensacionais espero ver eles no evercade com certeza 🇧🇷✌️❤️

I bought quite a few upgraded Dreamcast versions, Soul Reaver being one of them. Definitely would be better than PS1 but unlikely.
I'm guessing a Legacy of Kain cart or Tomb raider collection 2.
Pandemonium was, imo a 2.5d hidden gem on playstation, as was its sequel, and I can definitely see these dropping onto a gigacart for sure.
It was also a fun game on the Sega Saturn. 😜
@@MIKandJEAN I owned a Saturn before my ps one and had this game on both systems as I did with the original tomb raider 👍

What about Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain? The ps1 game before soul reaver. Also Gex3D.
Likely if we get Soul Reaver we'd get both. Seems more likely than Gex or Pandemonium
We need Gex in choripan!

We didn't have thumbsticks on the PS1 initially. The games will be fine.

Total eclipse would be nice but the ps1 version is horrible though.
Would buy Soul Reaver or the Clown Games, but not Gex, somehow does not appeal to me graphic wise, has this cheap look to it.
it looks cheap but is a solid platformer
