One small detail that wasn't mention that you see in the animation is that, when the Black Templar impales a flayed one with his sword, he presents the body to the Crimson Fist for him to fire on, this is because the bolter of the Crimson Fist is most likely loaded with Antiphasic shells, a special kind of bolter round, in use by the deathwatch that prevents a necron's inner systems from triggering their fail safe and teleporting the body away for repairs, it's one of the many tools the deathwatch uses, and also may be why the Crimson Fist took the final shot, to make sure the body of the Destroyer Lord would not phase away to be repaired.
but flayers aren´t teleported back when they die. If i´m not mistaken in the twice dead king novels it is stated that the system automatically turns that function off if it detects corruption.
A Black Templar, a Crimson Fist, and a Space Wolf walk into a church and see an Imperial Guardsman praying. The Templar says, "He should be wielding a chainsword." The Fist adds, "A bolter’s more fitting." The Space Wolf laughs, "Give him a keg and he’ll be fine." Suddenly, Necrons burst through the door. The Guardsman, wide-eyed, looks at the Space Marines and whispers, "Any of you got a plan?" The Templar replies, "Purge them in the Emperor's name." The Fist, "Time to reduce these xenos to scrap metal." The Wolf grins, "Don't worry, Guardsman, I hope you like a good fight." The Guardsman panics, "What should I do?!" The Templar shouts, "Die for the Emperor!" The Fist adds, "Hold the line!" The Space Wolf laughs, "Try not to scream too loud!" The Guardsman sighs, "Great, I’m the only one who gonna die.I hate my job.Why do I always end up with the ones who think they're invincible?"
One minor correction. The other chapters use adolescents for initiates to recieve the gene seed, but spacewolves use young men that are ready to fight for their clans. This means the numbers are smaller of those who survive the procedure. They take those that have faught the best amongst the mortally wounded in accordance to the beliefs of fenrisians that the ALL- Father takes the greatest to be one of his skywarriors and the rest go to valhalla. This is why spacewolves, on the early tabletop are a step up from other chapters. Their tactical squads were the equivalent of elite tactical squads and had choice of better gear. Im not sure if primaris are like that because im a horus heresy guy.
@Counterpoints40k You forgot to mention the reason why the crimson fist always took the last finishing shot or double tapping an already dead necron. The reason for that is a special bolt round(Antiphasic Shells) made to stop necrons from phasing back to their tomb world when taking critical damage or mortal damage so their conscience can be placed in a new body. This round stops that from happening forcing them to stay dead permanently instead of being placed in another body. Necrons are not immortal per se because if they cannot phase shift back to the tomb world after a mortal wound, what ever is left in that head will die like its current body unable to back itself up. The bodies itself act as a external SSD with their main data, mean while the bodies in the tomb world only hold their backup EMPTY externals. If they cannot retrieve the main external with its data then that necron is now permanently dead.
@@ODST59 Flayers dont phase back either way as the tomb world wont rebuild a corrupted member even a king. Also doesnt the bullet just limit the body? Cause their codes can still be caught if close enough.
@@ArminaticsVoiceArtist the flayers are corrupted yes but they still phase them back because their still troops that the necrons can use so they do phase them back and all the other time necrons died without getting hit by this are really rare. GW must have recently rewritten the lore for the flayed ones. In the old lore, when the Necrons took the fight to the C'tan, they destroyed one known as The Flayed One. C'tan being gods of the materium, when one gets destroyed, it rewrites the universe. When they destroyed The Flayed One, it infected a portion of them with the flayer curse, which when combined with their desire to return to flesh and blood, it drove them to peel the skin and flesh from their victims and drape it over themselves. There is currently a Necron dynasty that is almost entirely flayed ones that resides in the Ghoul Stars(I believe).
That lore is still true with the death of the flayer. In the twice dead king books the main characters father Unas was there and one of those to slay it. Thus his kingdom became fully of flayers later. And valgul in the ghoul stars leads the remains of Unas house.
I honestly hope that one day there will be a Death Watch coop pve game where 5 people can play together. Have game mechanics like SM2 and possibly a skill set like Dawn of war 2. Even have 3 or 4 planets with different xenos to fight against.
I want more Deathwatch stuff. I think it's the perfect chapter to use to introduce a large number of people to Warhammer. It covers the most important chapters, you learn about the inquisition, a lot of the xeno's stuff, and can even talk about really old stuff like the horus heresy. I wish Space Marine 2 had been a deathwatch game instead of Ultramarines. That intro was so good. Deathwatch is also the perfect setting to show the differences between the different space marine chapters
It makes sense. Given that so many of us adore our favorite chapters (except you Heretics) so a chapter that enlists units from all chapters as sort of a Special Operations - mixing and matching Chapters, that's a pretty cool concept that also makes sense from a cooperative perspective.
Even if the space wolf wanted to, he couldn't share his deeds done during the deathwatch. They are sworn to secrecy by the Inquisition. In the novel Blood of Asaheim, Ingvar is recently returned from the Deathwatch and comments how he can't share what happened.
I thought the deeds could be written on tarps or their pauldron where as a Blackshield however is redacted on all accounts either be it due to penance or to spare their birth chapter from their own failures as not to disgrace their brothers?
The thing I liked the most about this short movie was that they made the Necrons look like they are supposed to look: grim and horrifying. That Destroyer showing up through the wall with his gauss beam was a thing of nightmare. I really hope GamesWorkshop goes back to the original art, isntead of making my necrodemis boys look like plastic toys.
Agreed, these days a lot of the Necron's focus lies on Trazyn and his meme-y ways. It gives a lot of people a fairly goofy outlook on the Necrons. This really made them seem as threatening as they really are.
Did we watch the same video? That destroyer lord was a total pushover. He put up less of a fight than the regular skorpekh destroyer in the official Pariah Nexus animations. Uler is also present as a Deathwatch Marine in the intro cinematic on Space Marine 2, you can see his power axe and he talks over the vox. It just sucks that with so much lore, we do see him die D:
Flayed ones arnt mad... they're cursed...literally from the actual death of one of the C'tan. It's death and subsequent curse cemented the idea that they had to be captured, subdued, and shattered but never killed.
I feel like that in the merry brightness of the near future, we'll be fighting Necrons in Space Marine 2. This animation even had 3 space marines for crying out loud, which is the team size in the game.
This was my favorite 40k animation yet because the black Templars and Necrons are my two favorite factions! I realize how polar opposite they are haha…I’m like that.
Directed by none other than Erasmus Brosdau, too. Produced by Bandai Namco..? (part of the name was obscured by your loyalist visage) An interesting combo, to be sure.
The fact that it was deathwatch and really showcased the different roles they each played makes me hopeful that Space Marine 2 may bring Necrons into the game.
I hope they don't. Either they'd be way too hard, like fighting exclusively sniper tyranid warriors, or they'd make them into total pushovers that die in one hit and take 10 shots just to down you
@@josefstalin9678 well unlike tyranids they arent like hordes and as far as their minoris troops it would be like flayed ones maybe. Little tougher than hormagaunts but not as numerous. I think theyd be able to balance it relatively with some testing. Itd just be cool to have something other than heretics and nids
@@adamduane1320 I guess you could go with flayers and just tweak the health and number of enemies, but if you replaced the sniper warriors with something like deathmarks, you'd still be getting one shotted. I mean, their guns literally disintegrate your synapses. Not to mention the fact they can teleport.
@@josefstalin9678 it certainly would be tough for the devs to balance them. Finding the right number of enemies to throw at players coupled with the difficulty they already pose but id just love to see necrons in a game.
@@adamduane1320 Id like to see another enemy type but I feel like t'au, eldar, and necrons would all be such a pain because they have way more ranged weapons than tyranids. I think bringing orks back would be cool, especially if we saw different kinds of orks. I also think genestealers could work because, although they also use ranged weapons a lot, they're also a lot frailer on average, with the exception of patriarchs, purestrains, and aberrants
what i don't like is that the big mecha thing was way too weak. the shear size and weight of it should make it impossible to parry/block a blow without breaking bones even from a space marine. that thing probably weighs more than a full loaded tractor-trailer for god sakes
That was my problem with it too. If you watch the official Pariah Nexus animations, you see a Salamander and a Sister of Battle fight a regular Skorpekh Destroyer and it puts up a pretty good fight. This thing was a Skorpekh Destroyer Lord, which is much larger and more powerful (in durability, intelligence, and weaponry) and it didn't put up half as much of a fight
Congratulation on your content but I need to say. The suddenly jump in the 2:24 is extremely jarring, I don't know if was a mistake in edition but I would recommend to ease the transition from watch along to suddenly jump, specially without any context why I'm now suddenly listening about imperial guard and lasgun when the scene had neither at the moment of the cut. Should it be a build up to explain something I would recomend to at least mention that it will stop now and go into some information rather than the suddenly cut.
This is what we get for a premium tv content subscription, a 5m animation, get a grip GW, start producing meaningful content or just watch your Warhammer tv revenue plummet through the floor.
They had a kill team working together ....both being dominant and on the back foot ... Their experience came out in how they worked together and set everything up. We have base necrons not really providing much of an issue as it should be. We have a boss character that requires the squad to work together An initial blast uses up the shields power ...the second eats the specialised material .... It was fairly balanced. None of the marines in trouble unless they didn't draw on their experience. Will say this though ...no firstborn ..... Tbh ...this is what I imagine first born dealing with it to be like .... Primaris which are supposed to be stronger and faster ..I expect more of a swift ending to imply that.
A first born keeping up but with more signs of wear and tear would be great ... Where we see a firstborn struggling to hold the strength back of something, we could have a primaris do the same but without extreme grunting ..just merely matched strength
That boss character was a joke. Its a Skorpekh Destroyer Lord, probably one of the single scariest Xeno individuals a space marine can come into contact with, and it didn't even lay a finger on any of them. The regular skorpekh destroyer in Pariah Nexus put up more of a fight than this
hey super cool I'm still celebrating your channel I'm still celebrating like crazy the only thing that I find sad is that I simply can't watch Warhammer TV in my country without having to send you dollars every month but I think I just have to boil a little inside until I'm ready to give and pay the dollar monthly😅
hell yeah , owned that F'ing metal monster. I like the well timed neck cut. kind of remind me of a certain witcher. 🙂 wish we could do such timed movements in space marine 2 game or have the same agility that these ones have. it will be more space marine like rather than the current limited bulky movement set we have.
Imperial Guard are the regular army. They are the mass of the Imperial forces and come with huge numbers and a lot of heavy equipment, like artillery and mass armor. Their basic weapon, the Lasgun, is not like an assault rifle. It is more like the M1 Garand used in WW2. It fires a pretty powerful light armor piercing laser shot that is accurate and range and has great ammo economy. It's no Boltgun, but 100 Lasguns firing en mass can ruin most anyone. The Space Marines are more like Special Forces. Rather than make war against millions of Orks, their strength is in hitting strategic targets with concentrated force. For example, they might drop into the HQ of an enemy and murder the whole command structure.

12:55 the way they walked up to the guardsman😮💨🔥
9:07 Wow his shield been turn green ashes then toss away. Perfect timing! Death from above!
Flayed ones arnt mad... they're cursed...literally from the actual death of one of the C'tan. It's death and subsequent curse cemented the idea that they had to be captured, subdued, and shattered but never killed.
Holy crap that was 1 A+ fight scene. That was crazy good.
@Counterpoints40k another great video, my dude semper Fi 🤘
Dorn: "Fine Girlyman I would split them into the Chapters." turns his head to Sigismund afterwards and *wink, wink*
Correct me if I’m wrong. But I could have sworn that some Black Templar consider service with the death watch as punishment
I love that just shanking him with a knife was a key element, peak British strategy.
Very much feels like a promo for an upcoming mission in Space Marine 2. Here's hoping.
I feel like that in the merry brightness of the near future, we'll be fighting Necrons in Space Marine 2. This animation even had 3 space marines for crying out loud, which is the team size in the game.
He did a super hero landing!! @9:55
Thats crazy... Just knowing what that is makes it more terrifying. Flayed one Necrons are mental!
This was my favorite 40k animation yet because the black Templars and Necrons are my two favorite factions! I realize how polar opposite they are haha…I’m like that.
I love the black templers so much there so cool.
0:06 I was waiting for this!❤
Directed by none other than Erasmus Brosdau, too. Produced by Bandai Namco..? (part of the name was obscured by your loyalist visage)
An interesting combo, to be sure.
I saw those grappling hooks and immediately thought of the vanguard class in Space Marine 2. 😳
That's because the vanguard class in space marine 2 is a reiver.
That necron recap was on point 👍
4:31 healing for everyone
We're to the point where I wouldn't be to tell whether I'm watching real life or an episode of the expanse
9:55
them: Sup UNC!
I also think genestealers could work because, although they also use ranged weapons a lot, they're also a lot frailer on average, with the exception of patriarchs, purestrains, and aberrants
let's not forget - there are no wolves on fenris ;)
what i don't like is that the big mecha thing was way too weak. the shear size and weight of it should make it impossible to parry/block a blow without breaking bones even from a space marine. that thing probably weighs more than a full loaded tractor-trailer for god sakes
I love his reaction on the bottom right because I know we are all making the same excitement unable to be contained! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hey Algo! This is a nice video!
It would been even better iv the Spacewolf made an RKO.😅
Congratulation on your content but I need to say.
The suddenly jump in the 2:24 is extremely jarring, I don't know if was a mistake in edition but I would recommend to ease the transition from watch along to suddenly jump, specially without any context why I'm now suddenly listening about imperial guard and lasgun when the scene had neither at the moment of the cut.
Should it be a build up to explain something I would recomend to at least mention that it will stop now and go into some information rather than the suddenly cut.
No
@@Counterpoints fair enough, good luck with your project going forward
For the All Father!
For Russ!
For the Imperium!
That space wolf is a fucking G
Directed by "Erasmus Brosdau"? OMG, the creator of Lord Inquisitor fan animation, "the first", finally did official animation! YEEY
As a Black Templar, it pleases me to fight alongside a Crimson Fist.
1:50 The new FNAF looks sick.
This is what we get for a premium tv content subscription, a 5m animation, get a grip GW, start producing meaningful content or just watch your Warhammer tv revenue plummet through the floor.
You're doing good work.
Thats nice DLC for SM2, Necrons
They had a kill team working together ....both being dominant and on the back foot ...
Their experience came out in how they worked together and set everything up.
We have base necrons not really providing much of an issue as it should be.
We have a boss character that requires the squad to work together
An initial blast uses up the shields power ...the second eats the specialised material ....
The regular skorpekh destroyer in Pariah Nexus put up more of a fight than this
Awesome video man!
hey super cool I'm still celebrating your channel I'm still celebrating like crazy the only thing that I find sad is that I simply can't watch Warhammer TV in my country without having to send you dollars every month but I think I just have to boil a little inside until I'm ready to give and pay the dollar monthly😅
Why is this SO EPIC!
hell yeah , owned that F'ing metal monster. I like the well timed neck cut. kind of remind me of a certain witcher. 🙂 wish we could do such timed movements in space marine 2 game or have the same agility that these ones have. it will be more space marine like rather than the current limited bulky movement set we have.
That episode was fire 🔥🔥🔥
Christ bless you, that Crimson Fist was the star of the show for me ngl
Well I give I can’t be a space marine seeing that big necron come out that wall I would have ran
Who else wants to recrate this kill-team in SM2?
I just realized, that the Director is the same dude, huw made "Lord Inquisitor"
"I liked that shield!"
I want a 1st person deathwatch game so much.
Animation was on point❤❤❤❤
What video is your intro from? I've seen it and would like to again. It looks so awesome. Thanks!

Will you not be reacting to the fan animation, "The Awakening?". The one that was made by content creatos around the 40k community. It is about an hour long.
Good stuff. War, and only war.!!! Hopefully you will like it.
I hope we get these armor sets in Space Marine 2.
