🌟 Hey everyone! I appreciate all the love and support you've shown me over the years 🥰 Many of you have asked how you can help with my dream of having a small farm/ranch with the goal of helping animals in need. I'm excited to share that I've set up a GoFundMe to help make my dream a reality hopefully a wee bit sooner. If you'd like to contribute, please check out the link below-every little bit helps! Thank you for being part of this journey! 🙏❤ gofund.me/70c815cb
Dawn Marie, thanks for your reaction to City Slickers, I knew you would fall in love with Norman. Hope you react to the sequel CITY SLICKERS II : THE LEGEND OF CURLY'S GOLD (1994). The part of Curly was played by Jack Palance, here is Jack being a badass in real life: ua-cam.com/video/JC6Y3WEJ0tI/v-deo.html
I agree with you, Dawn. Spending 2 weeks vacation on a working ranch would be awesome. There are also ranches where you can go and stay and not have to work, but still have access to all of the fun stuff like horses and camping.🤠
There are no reactions out there that equal Dawn. Her tears of joy at the desire to participate in the events of this movie give it a whole new lease of life.
Yes, Yes Yes. Finally. This is one of the best comedies of the 90s and it has kinda gone unoticed. It really heart to it. It's comedy but it has those moments of humanity- Norman's birth, Curly's death, Ed's story about his father, Phil finally breaking down. It really has heart and I love it for that. The sequel was as well received but I enjoyed it to. Billy Crystal was at the top of his game in this one. Another really good movie of his you HAVE to watch is "Running Scared". It's a buddy cop mive that redates "Lethal Weapon". It's the right amount of serius, funny, and action. And, the chemistry between Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines is amazing. Please consider watching it.
In the sequel "City Slickers 2: Legend of Curly's Gold", Daniel Stern & Billy Cristal return to New Mexico w: SNL's sarcastic Jon Lovitz as Billy's brother, & w: 'Curly's brother... you'll see, Dawn!
Jack Palance won the Best Supporiing Actor Oscar for this performance. He'd been nominated twice before. In _Shane_ he played Jack Wilson, the gunfighter in black, one of his Oscar nominations, and for which he won a Laurel Award. He won an Emmy Award for his lead role in the teleplay _Requiem for a Heavyweight_ (1956). If you get around to watching Tim Burton's 1989 _Batman_ you'll run into him again. Yeardley Smith (Nancy, Phil's not pregnant girlfriend) is the voice of Lisa Simpson.
Oh yeah it's a thing, the running of the bulls. My dad did it the early 60s. I think we've still got his red bandana somewhere. I kinda want to run with the bulls, but I think I'd rather do the annual tomato fight in Bunol, Spain.
My son and his children own a ranch in Idaho raising Scottish Hyland cattle. My grandchildren maintain the ranch with help. I am so proud of the beautiful work they have accomplished.
Dawn! I was certain you were in your early twenties! When I first saw your channel two years ago I thought "Let's see how this cute teen reacts to (whichever of my favourite movies it was)..." I'm old....
The real-life animal actor that played Norman, after the movie’s completion, the calf was not sent to a slaughterhouse or put in any danger. Instead, the production ensured that the animal was well cared for.
Definitely best movie ever. Billy Crystal was so good back in the day, and was the best thing about the Oscars when he presented a few times. If you haven't seen his movie 'When Harry Met Sally', you really should get on it.
The Running of the Bulls takes place in Pamplona, Spain in early July. Just by Dawn's reaction, there looks like there's a good chance we'll get City Slickers 2: In search of Curlies Gold. Could you imagine instead of a movie reactions a vlog of Dawn at a Dube Ranch, now that would be one to watch.
...and to top off this perfect reaction - just before Jack Palance came along and stole your heart, you fell just a little bit for one of my favourite actors, Noble Willingham, who played the ranch owner. I absolutely love him, especially in The Last Boy Scout, plus Blind Fury, and even an episode of WKRP in Cincinnati. I know it will never win any of your Western polls, but Lee Marvin and Jack Palance star together in Monte Walsh.
Ya spotted Jake Gyllenhaal, but the 20 yr old girl that told Phil she was pregnant, is Yeardley Smith, the Voice actress for Lisa Simpson. She also played Putter in The Legend of Billy Jean. Billy Jean is played by Helen Slater, Bonnie in this.
To Dawn - Best Reactor Ever! You need to watch City Slickers 2. I think we’ll be seeing it before you know it. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Dawn Marie!
I remember when this came out I worked in the movie theatre as a teenager selling popcorn. At one point, an elderly married couple stormed out of the theatre demanding their money back due to the "disgusting, dispicable calf scene", claiming something to the effect "there are children in there, for god's sake!". Having grown up on a farm, I really didn't understand what the big deal was. Something else: I know my parents had to grow up faster than I did (in the sense that they had to accept great responsibility at a very young age) but it's still funny to me now to see everyone going through a midlife crisis at reaching 40.
This is my favourite movie :) All my life I planned to go on a cattle drive when I turned 40. Sadly, when 40 hit the world was shut down from covid so I never went. Maybe that's why I still haven't found my smile. Glad you enjoyed it. If you go on a cattle drive, hit me up and I'll go too 😂
Of course it's a Western, it's got cows, horses, and Jack Palance. There was a rumor that he was in a plane crash in WWII, and that surgeons had to rebuild his face - his comment was : "If it's a bionic face, why didn't they do a better job of it ?"
Do check out the sequel: City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly’s Gold (1994). Also, the blonde who was on the cattle drive was Helen Slater. She is known for: - Supergirl (1984) - The Legend of Billie Jean (1985) - The Secret of my Success (1987)
Calves are quite fun, especially when you give them milk from a bottle. There are ways to get a horseback ride in places like Washington State or the Hawaiin Islands: on beaches, along rivers, etc. Many states have fairs with lots of animals, my favorite being cats and draft horses (they are large animals). Hopefully you can at least get a few hours riding someday!
Excellent reaction Dawn ! Here is another western film you should react to, and that is “ The Professionals, “ starring great “Old manie “ actors,- Lee Marvin, Burt Lancaster, Woody Strobe ( “ black actor “ Pompie “ in the Man Who Shot Liberty Valance ). This a great “ Mission Impossible “ story set in the Wild West , you’ll love it !!!
Lassie, if that is your real hair color, is suits you. I'm an old happily married man, but may I say that you are lovely just the way you are. And you have the best reaction videos on UA-cam.
I had to double take when the alert popped up on my phone. I thought she was watching a film called 'Clitty Lickers' I need to lay off the damn whiskey.
The worst thing about getting old enough that you have to trim nose hair, is getting the part straight...especially if you part it front to back like I do. 😊

"My 20s were a mess", seriously, in past tense? How old are you? 30 years and 1 day?
Curly “ Jack Palance “ was one of the coolest people ever
I agree with you, Dawn. Spending 2 weeks vacation on a working ranch would be awesome. There are also ranches where you can go and stay and not have to work, but still have access to all of the fun stuff like horses and camping.🤠

Dawn is living this movie before our eyes. Always been an underrated film
In the sequel "City Slickers 2: Legend of Curly's Gold", Daniel Stern & Billy Cristal return to New Mexico w: SNL's sarcastic Jon Lovitz as Billy's brother, & w: 'Curly's brother... you'll see, Dawn!
Jon Lovitz being obsessed with Godfather 2 in the sequel is a genius touch
@blairhatton3066 Oh, yes, Jon Lovitz even gets mad & argues when other dude deliberately says incorrect details about it just to trigger him! 👎🤬=😜👍
Jack Palance won the Best Supporiing Actor Oscar for this performance. He'd been nominated twice before. I remember Jack getting down on the stage when he went to accept his Oscar and did one armed pushups on live TV! He was a bad ass!
@@jimbro5223 Even better...he was 73 when he did those one-armed pushups.
The most believable line I've heard this week? "I'm going to be a crazy old lady!" Ya gotta love this girl!
Best role for Jack Palance since Shane.
Jack Palance is one of the best classical bad-asses, be it as a black hat or grey. This may be the kindest character he's ever played.
The best day story that Billy Crystal told was actually his story.
16:56 ditto Curly.
Oh yeah it's a thing, the running of the bulls. My dad did it the early 60s. I think we've still got his red bandana somewhere. I kinda want to run with the bulls, but I think I'd rather do the annual tomato fight in Bunol, Spain.
Cows. Dawn has found her actual one hundred percent favorite 'best movie ever'.
This was filmed just south of my home town. The place is called Ghost Ranch. The Cabin used in this movie is still standing.
This is such a under rated movie. Great Reaction. And the cuteness of Norman can't be denied.
My son and his children own a ranch in Idaho raising Scottish Hyland cattle. My grandchildren maintain the ranch with help. I am so proud of the beautiful work they have accomplished.
Highland not Hyland
Dawn! I was certain you were in your early twenties! When I first saw your channel two years ago I thought "Let's see how this cute teen reacts to (whichever of my favourite movies it was)..." I'm old....
"Find your smile!" is one of three moments in this movie that move me.
Never seen anyone who needs a highland cow more than Dawn.
Yes Dawn! Knew you'd love this, you and Curly are so in sync! 🐮🤠
Jack Palace won an academy ward for this
And did some one armed pushups on stage when accepting
Great comedy!! And the second one is fantastic.
A really good movie that holds up well. Good mix of comedy and drama, really good writing
I love how much you enjoyed this movie. It is a great movie.
The real-life animal actor that played Norman, after the movie’s completion, the calf was not sent to a slaughterhouse or put in any danger. Instead, the production ensured that the animal was well cared for.
Great reaction to a gem. Billy Crystal is criminally under rated.
Hope you have your own Norman one day
City slickers is good enough on it's own but watching it with Dawn makes it that much better.
City slickers 2 now. Hahaha
The sequel is a must watch
Bruno Kirby (Ed) hated making this movie because he discovered that he was allergic to horses which is why he didn’t appear in the sequel.
Not just best movie ever, best movie of all time.
Definitely best movie ever. Billy Crystal was so good back in the day, and was the best thing about the Oscars when he presented a few times. If you haven't seen his movie 'When Harry Met Sally', you really should get on it.
you found your one... and the world blossomed again. We see it in your smile Dawn 😀
Now you're definitely ready for "Lonesome Dove". If not for the channel, watch it for yourself. You'll love it, I know it.
One of my favorite parts is when the three of them say what the best and worst days of their lives were. I like Bruno Kirby's answer.
This movie is like the Disney version of lonesome dove.
Best reaction ever!
Best movie ever? Gotta be
It's a great hangover Sunday morning movie 😂
Loved the two for years.
Driving cattle from one ranch to another ranch, whoever told you this wasn’t farm/ranch related, is what we call a city slicker
I think Dawn liked this one
...and to top off this perfect reaction - just before Jack Palance came along and stole your heart, you fell just a little bit for one of my favourite actors, Noble Willingham, who played the ranch owner. I absolutely love him, especially in The Last Boy Scout, plus Blind Fury, and even an episode of WKRP in Cincinnati.
I know it will never win any of your Western polls, but Lee Marvin and Jack Palance star together in Monte Walsh.
It is a ranch movie because those operations where refular people go to play cowboys are called "Dude Ranches"
I think that's about as happy as I've seen you watching a movie. I saw it when it first came out, and I'd forgotten how good a movie it is.
For Christmas gift I want to see DAWN MARIE and PENNY WATCHES MOVIES do a collab reaction.
I was very lucky, I was young when I figured out what the one thing is, it's me.
Because you've watched so many much older movies, I'm curious to see if you know/recognize Jack Palance. He was in a ton of old westerns.
12:23 Glad you looked him up. Also, that was cool how his ruggedness blew you away!
She saw him in Shane.
A great movie, a great reaction👍👏🏻😍🇬🇧
I remember when this came out I worked in the movie theatre as a teenager selling popcorn. Best movie ever
You can't go wrong with any movie with Daniel Stern. Which leads to my movie suggestion of the week: "Breaking Away" with Stern. A really warm comedy.
14:16 he’s from godfather 2. Please watch City Slickers 2 next
Curly was Wilson the gunfighter Shane killed at the end
This is my favourite movie :) All my life I planned to go on a cattle drive when I turned 40. Sadly, when 40 hit the world was shut down from covid so I never went. Maybe that's why I still haven't found my smile.
Glad you enjoyed it. If you go on a cattle drive, hit me up and I'll go too 😂
Daniel Stern was in Home Alone; Bruno Kiby was in When Harry Met Sally (also with Billy Crystal of course).
Of course it's a Western, it's got cows, horses, and Jack Palance. There was a rumor that he was in a plane crash in WWII, and that surgeons had to rebuild his face - his comment was : "If it's a bionic face, why didn't they do a better job of it ?"
Jack Palance won an Oscar for this and did one-armed pushups on the stage to show what a bad-a$$ he was! One of the outstanding Oscars moments.
was that him from home alone. norman was adorable
“The Running of the Bulls” is a tradition in Spain, most famously in Pamplona.
Do check out the sequel: City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly’s Gold (1994).
Also, the blonde who was on the cattle drive was Helen Slater. She is known for:
- Supergirl (1984)
- The Legend of Billie Jean (1985)
- The Secret of my Success (1987)
I grew up on a farm/ranch, and it’s 100% that type of movie lol
U look amazing with red hair!
"Hot, brown and lots of it" 😊
Trying to imagine Dawn on a horse.
Now you need to check out city Slickers too
You’ve got it bad for Curly
Your hair is spectacular!❤
Excellent reaction Dawn ! Here is another western film you should react to, and that is “ The Professionals, “ starring great “Old manie “ actors,-
Lee Marvin, Burt Lancaster, Woody Strobe ( “ black actor “ Pompie “ in the Man Who Shot Liberty Valance ). This a great “ Mission Impossible “ story
set in the Wild West , you’ll love it !!!
Also do The Big Country (1958) starring Gregory Peck, Charlton Heston and Jean Simmons. Great underrated western!
8:41. "Why would it be an issue?" You're funny. This was the early 90's. Comedy was different and politically incorrect back then.
I love Redheads as well. My wife is one. If you find a working ranch please let us know which one and when. We'll join you.
Curly.
Doing what he loved. In the place he loved., dying in the place he loved and being buried there.
Not a bad life. Not bad at all.
He was also in Total Recall. Cop in Die Hard 2.
Lassie, if that is your real hair color, is suits you. I'm an old happily married man, but may I say that you are lovely just the way you are. And you have the best reaction videos on UA-cam.
I used to always fake sleep at family get togethers.
I had to double take when the alert popped up on my phone. I thought she was watching a film called 'Clitty Lickers' I need to lay off the damn whiskey.
never seen anyone get all mushy and cry over a calf but norman was cute it when its all grown up when you worry
Check out City Slickers 2 as well!
Oh, I thought it would be BS today. So that one comes on X-mas day then.
Ok. So a reation to a movie I do not know today. Nice that too.
I don't know if you had "Quigley Down Under" was on your list.....It's a good farm type ranch movie.
There is a sequel. Of course never as great as the original but it's there.
OK, somebody recommend anything from... last 5 years that's this level of good?
Recommendation: Toy Story and The Simpsons Movie
A child lol. Yerdley smith was like 27 here. Fyi shes also the voice of lisa simpson.
You should go on a cattle drive, and make a video about it.
The worst thing about getting old enough that you have to trim nose hair, is getting the part straight...especially if you part it front to back like I do. 😊
I'm not going to tell you what Phil did with the parsnips
😊
Not that you give a sh-t about my opinion, but your hair looks really good that color.
👍👍👍🎥
Thats is not Dennis Franz from die hard 2 lol.
This movie got Jack Palance the Oscar.
And this what happened
ua-cam.com/video/g426J4Uh2m4/v-deo.htmlsi=TXhreCRU3E9TAbG0
I mean two
