    PVC pipe. Smooth and zero issues. Run that to the wall and the flex connects to that on work side. Easy peasy

    Thank you for posting this update. Its the only 'real' review that I can find on this particular brand. Going to give it a try in my work shop.

    I just watched when you installed the Wen dust collector and am thoroughly impressed with the quality you get for such a cheap yet nicely built collector. I have basically only wall space left which is my own fault buying more than building surfaces to store tools and I’m working on that but this collector would be fantastic for the tablesaw and one day if I get a planet, etc. I personally would add a dust separator to easily wheel off the contents but I’m impressed with how well it works and how damn strong that suction is

    I am looking to upgrade from my shop vac but was hesitant because this unit seemed small at 14 gal. I am a big fan of WEN though. I have the 12" drill press, 3 blade planer and the 3410 dust collector. All of them are a great value and high quality. With your review of this Dust collector I will be ordering mine this week. Thank you.

    I’ve seen another video (somewhere) where they adapted and attached a 4 inch PVC elbow at the inlet of the collector to keep the hose straight and make sure the inlet is never blocked. You might try that.

      if you use pvc make sure you twist wire around it and ground it to discharge the static buildup.

    Looks kinda dusty down there. What about adding a WEN air filtration unit (3410)?

      Soooo…. Unfortunately I don’t hook everything to a dust collector like I should! I get lazy and do small projects a lot! For this reason I DO need a good air filter like the WEN! Thanks for watching!

  • @joelsmeby
    @joelsmeby 2 роки тому +1

    I don't understand why the floor of the shop is so dirty. For example, why don't you have it hooked up to the planer? I'd be curious if it can keep up with the high volume of chips that come from that tool.

    • @TheCrawlspaceCraftsman
      @TheCrawlspaceCraftsman  2 роки тому

      Hey Joel! I use in conjunction with the planner all the time with zero issues. I did take the screen and lucky to this day no damage to blades so it doesn’t clog. Still have it and use it weekly!

    just a thought i had while watching but could you do pvc with a 90 going into the collector to have a solid bend? ive been looking at getting one of these. thanks for the video!!! think ill move forward and pick one up. i think ill probably put pvc on mine in an enclosed room then use the clear flex pipe outside on a swing arm to move it to my different machines when i need it.

    • @TheCrawlspaceCraftsman
      @TheCrawlspaceCraftsman  2 роки тому +2

      They actually make a 90 bend that’s more curved and not L shaped! That would probably work even better. Use a rubber coupler to connect the two. Hope that helps some! Thanks for watching!!!

      My females were always right around 50-60. Males can get up to 80ish. Catahoulas are among the oldest dogs in America. In Loiusiana they use them as hog dogs, SC for deer hunting, Texas for cattle herding and when we visited the Navajo theres are used for sheep herding. Usually Very family protective and loyal.

    thanks for this review & update, i think my only question is (and forgive me if you mentioned it & i overlooked it) how often on average have you used this unit? We recently bought a wen hand held oscillating spindle sander & it is great.

  • @johnbauer3801

    Why not mount the unit on the 2 x 4 wooden wall, that will take kink out of the hose...nice set-up, good job, like your ideas...

    • @TheCrawlspaceCraftsman
      @TheCrawlspaceCraftsman  4 роки тому +3

      by mounting it on the concrete wall there is zero noise transfer to the house when on. If you watch some of my Workshop Build videos... you'll see that the wall I mounted it on is actually a footer wall for my house. I plan on doing the same thing at some point for my Compressor. Its mounted to the 2x4 outside wall and when it's on... you can hear it through the house!

    Does it need a dedicated outlet? That's where the money comes in. I have 4 outlets in the garage shared on a single 20A breaker. My Delta 36-725T2 table saw draws 15 amps. An electrician charged $150 an hour to run a dedicated outlet from breaker box to garage. Probably won't be able to run the saw and dust collector at the same time.

    • @TheCrawlspaceCraftsman

      So where mine is located I ran a dedicated outlet but I have ran it with my planer at the same time! Thanks for watching!

    I bought a similar unit, different brand and the vibration is very loud. It might seem that the shaft is not balanced properly. I read a couple of reviews on Amazon related to this issue which I think does not affect all units but some
    Are you having any issues with too much vibration or too loud?
