Interesting to see a review that is made 3 years after the purchase and not after a week or so. It says a whole lot more about the product if your still happy with it when it's not shiny out of the box =)
I think that WEN brand is under estimated as a professional and have own some of this company it's under rated to bad that they don't have a display on any big box stores
Ordered the Wen filtration system for when I paint in the garage to get rid of the fumes fast but been buying a lot of auto detailing and painting stuff in the last year.
@@hoganbaker2067 I didn't end up getting it but bought paint filters but thinking about buying a inflatable paint booth but need brand new tires on my truck because they are bad got the truck last October. But haven't been trying to buy as much stuff online as I was before.
I have the same WEN air filter and even when used daily, the outter box does not get dirty like yours is. My concern would be the other dust collection methods, I assume you have are not working properly. I don't have anything special, just a shop vac for portable tools and a steel whole house vac that I use for regular floor cleanups. The shop vac does have a hepa filter with a hepa bag,( one does not work without the other in a shop vac), but that's it. I wear a face mask for added protection. Do you clean your other means of dust collection as often? That maybe the reason for the fine dust accumulation on the other metal box.
good to see the unit is performing well mechanically after 3 years, however the video shows fine dust all over the top of the machinery in the shop. It's specs sound sized correctly for a 20 x 20 shop ?? 8 foot ceiling and if rated for 8 exchanges per hour
Most likely super fine particles floating around in the air get attracted to the static charge from the air blowing over the grate. I doubt any of them had a chance to pay through the machine
Been interested in this item. I live in the suburbs but there’s farm land here all around (10 mile radius) and I’m sick of dust collecting on the cars in the garage. Would you say this is ok for just normal day to day dust or is this more for heavier particles like woodworking? I just want the cars not to collect dust so soon as I don’t drive them often and I guess a cleaner garage would be nice too. Lmk :) thanks in advanced!
My Wen air filtration system will randomly be running when I enter the shop even though it could be weeks between use. I've asked the neighbors if they have any wen remote controlled things (thinking maybe they accidentally turn mine on when they turn theirs on) but no one has one. Something is causing interference. I really don't need it running day and night when I'm not even out there. My shop has the cleanest air.
@@LDavis-ll5yrYou think Wen would own up to their faulty remotes but they just tell me to keep it unplugged when I'm not using it. Super convenient. Lol.
You could put a secondary remote switch in line with the outlet and plug. Obviously not ideal since it's an added purchase, but it's an easy solution. That or wire in a regular outlet switch; more work but functional.
@@mike9250The whole thing eventually quits working. I've taken it apart and I'm just going to see if I can bypass all the motherboard junk and just have it start up full blast when I plug it in. These things are junk. WEN does not stand by their products.
@airdaff4973 I have one too, and it has definitely turned on by itself. I thought the issue was less to do with the remote but more to do with the frequency range the device responds to. I believe it's picking up errant things like the neighbors garage door opener and turning on. I use it for very light applications, but I'll temper my expectations on longevity. I like your idea of a bypass though, especially if you usually run it in high. On its face, it's just a small motor, a box, and a filter.
Mine quit working but it was a slow death. Sometimes I'd go to the shop and it would be running all by itself. I contacted wen and they told me that signals in the neighborhood are allowed to intwrfere with the remote. Wtf. At first it only worked intermittently and then the remote stopped working all together. The button on the unit does not power it on anymore. If you live in the cities, don't buy a wen. Wens solution was to unplug it and only plug it in when I need to use it. So I'd have to climb a ladder into the rafters to plug it in everytime. No thanks. Shop around for better products. Only had it a year or so.

Any relation to Hulk?
I don't want my lungs looking like the exit of the metal box. WHY IS THERE SO MUCH FINE DUST AMASSED AT THE EXIT OF THE UNIT?!?

New Purchase Unit turns on itself?
That's the beginning of the end of your unit. Return it as fast as you can. Don't buy WEN
No issue of dust getting around the filter, we all can see the fine dust on the blowers exit
Static cling, derp derp

Hi I'm Wes hogan great review what are you using for dust collection
It's anything but high quality, but it seems like it still does the job.

"OH MY CLAMPS" lol
is it my understanding that this helps prevent the fine hanging dust in the air, which eventually lands and covers everytthing?
it is my understanding that your understanding appears to be correct
The way I understand it is if you’re standing under while understanding it will do it, understand?
@@theloneviking9145you have to stand OVER it, common mistake.

Mine does too. I go out to my detached shop after a few days to find it has turned itself on.
