- In this video I show the steps and procedures necessary to replace an AC compressor on a Nissan titan, Nissan armada, and Infiniti QX56. Overall the job is not too difficult however there are a couple tips and tricks along the way that I show to make the job go by a little bit easier. With my experience it’s easiest to remove the AC compressor from the top of the engine bay or by removing the wheel in inner fender well to gain access to the mounting bolts electrical connector and both AC lines that connect to the compressor. In my instants this AC compressor was leakingFreon out of the front seal of the compressor causing a slow leak and after about a week the system would become low on charge in the air in the cabin would get warm. Make sure to check out the links in the description for the parts and tools are used during this video. Thank you for watching

A great video, straight forward, no pontificating just shows you and tells what you need to know
Thanks for these Titan videos!
I just replaced the low pressure hose. It was pretty simple. Keep up the great videos.
Great video, He covered the steps properly
Fantastic video. Very clear and concise.
Nice video. Shot well. Very informative. Thanks. Subscribed.!
Thanks for the video! It helped me greatly.
My low side had high PSI and my high side had high psi. I replaced my compressor and put Freon in it. it started blowing cold immediately, and the compressor very obviously was engaged where the old one wasn’t even though it was “free spinning” once I removed it and looked at it. The car immediately got cold.
I followed every step. Thank you!
How did it work out
This will be my 1st time changing an air compressor. Not to familiar with it. But Video looks excellent 👌
Great video
Thanks for this video! Used it step by step to change compressor (and condenser in a separate video) on a 2008 Armada. It was a pretty big job but going in thru the wheel well was definitely a big help. Would've never thought of that were it not for this video. Wheel well just has 5-6 screws and a couple of pushpins. Easy to reinstall as well. If you change your compressor it's highly recommended to change your condenser also. Had someone replace only my compressor 2 years ago and it had already failed. Take the extra time & money to fix it right. Btw my Armada has 300k miles and is still a great vehicle. Peace! ✌🏼
Thinking about doing the same on mine. 3rd vehicle for us but dreading doing it but needs to get done. Want to have backup vehicle in ready condition and I’m in Texas so it’s hot in the summer. 2007 here, 245k still going strong like you said.
@@Ray_Ray Nice! Good luck if you do. If I can do it you can! Yeah it's longer my main vehicle either but like you, wanted to be sure it was ready to go if I needed a back up and honestly it's still drives like almost new. Except for the sorry paint jobs on the hood and roof that seem to affect all of them. 😏
@@Ray_Ray Oh and TX here too! 🥵
@@rocketdaddy35 LUCKILY mine is white so from what I’ve noticed all the darker colored ones that absorb the heat, the clearcoat is screwed but the white still looks good. I painted the roof rack black with SEM Trim Black and the Running boards black as well so it damn near looks like a Z71 Tahoe once the gray was eliminated from the roof and running boards if that makes sense. I put new headlights as well. Nothing LED or aftermarket just new non oxidized ones and that makes it look new as well.
@@Ray_Ray Sounds nice! Mine's black if that tells you anything lol. I've done little touch up's but it definitely could use professional help. By far best vehicle I've ever owned though. Bought brand new and it has went through 4 kids learning to drive and then them all driving it until they got their first vehicle on their own. Lots of family vacations etc. Inside is like new, still, except for the roof console which was an engineering disaster in my opinion. Now it is earning its rest, but I try to keep it up and readily available for use. I still love that it holds 8 ppl if needed. Still drives and rides as smooth as ever and I still love driving it. Almost want to spend some money and get it painted. But seems kind of silly I guess with 300K. Plan to get a newer one someday for grandkids, etc. But not real crazy about the "brand new" ones.
Im about to do this probably next weekend on my armada! Hope it all goes like it did in this video lol.
I have a 08' Armada I'll post vids soon on my UA-cam. I'm subscribed to your channel, Cool videos as always!!!
Great video. U must be down south that truck is clean for the mileage
When you filled up the freon how did you engage the compressor clutch while the system pressure almost zero?
Shouldnt the refrigerent removal b free if its better for my vehicle and the enviroment and they pump the same refrigerant into my vehicle again?
Thanks for another Titan video! Just curious, how come all of the vehicles you work on have aftermarket parts? They always have lights and cold air intakes it seems.
When you say rear a/c do you mean just by vents and rear controls.
How much ounces or cans (12)of freon do I put in my armada
not drier filter replacement or expansion valve?
what happened to the xterra? you have a few people wanting to see more of it.
Hey Aaron very nice Video. I just bought a new Air Compressor. I have a 2006 Nissan Armada Se. Will this Video work for mines.
Hello Aaron Hines .. I have a 2009 Armada and a few days ago I fixed a leak in the high pressure line in my air conditioning system that was on the rear part. Could you tell me if it is necessary to add oil to the system. the leak was for three years .. and for all that time I never used my A/C ,, thank for your videos
Not to much oil should have escaped from the system due to the leak. However I would draw a vacuum on the system to suck out all the moisture that is in the system before you charge it. I am Magine some condensation probably got in the system at the leak was there for three years
Hey question I have a 2008 Titan and the ac just started blowing hot. I looked under the hood and didn’t see the clutch spinning. I checked the fuse and it is good. What else can I check for or what do you think it could be. I have one of the cheap ac hoses with a gauge and was checking to see if maybe I was low on Freon but when I checked it the gauge went all the way in the red. I have never done anything to the ac system this will be the first time something went wrong. Thank you
probably a bad clutch. next time check voltage a t the single wire at the clutch. If you have 12 volts there and its noit spinning then your coil is bad. If you dont then you are either low or have electrical issues
Wish you had gone through the pressures on the gauges
My A/C blows out hot but when I washed out the engine bay it was cold as hell for about a week then my bay got dirty again and it’s blowing out hot air. Is there something being clogged to cause this or is it the compressor acting up/needing to be replaced? The blower works fine and all the fuses/relays are good. Any help and or suggestions is greatly appreciated.
check to make sure you are getting power to the clutch when ac is on
That cover looks suspiciously cut to perfectly remove a compressor. XD
When you say “rear air” do you mean a crew cab with rear air vents. Or something like an armada that has rear air controls.
Hey bro did you remove the tire also?
Yes I did
I believe PAG 100 IS the correct oil..
Also if there is no vacuum the system will not fill.
Question
Don't you need to flash all the dirt?
Great video
