I definitely feel like the Judges went easy on Matt's horrible Neck tattoo because he'd been a much more aggressive competitor up to that point. Most of his work in both flash challenges and elimination tattoos had been better critiqued before the Necklace thing. Erik on the other hand had been very run of the mill in all his tattoos bar one. They definitely seem to factor that in when they get to near the end of the competition.
Yeah, i had a large leg piece outlined and begun by a trusted artist who I didn't realize had picked up a drinking habit in the 2 years since I'd last seen him. He gauged my leg but deeply. I stopped the session, went home and it was at least a year before I had the courage to begin searching for a new artist. The trauma isn't simply to body it's also to trust. This is artwork on your body, and it's permanent! It's no joke.
A bird cage can be manipulated so that the parallel lines can be more an asset than a hindrance. If pulled off well, the cage is an excellent exhibition of skill. An hourglass (most simply) has a set of parallel lines running horizontally and vertically, perpendicular lines meeting at the center, and flaring back out to meet both sets of parallel lines. Ideally, the two chambers of an hour glass should be identical in size. This means the both sets of parallel lines have to meet and the cross section of the perpendicular lines should be about halfway between the length of the vertical set. In theory, this isn’t nearly as complex but in an augmented area like the throat, just because it looked good at one angle, does not mean it will look good when the neck is relaxed or etc. it would take an incredible amount of effort to lay the stencil and make sure the design looks right at every angle. On top of which, getting an hourglass to translate with all of it’s details in such a small area will likely take more than 6 hours and Herculean effort especially if it has to be symmetrical. And that’s not even taking into account parallel ellipses and dimension should the hourglass be at any angle other than straight ahead.
Laura defending Dani is my favorite. The men trying to rip Dani apart just to keep their alliance alive, I understand, but is such a hard pill to swallow. Out of those 3 bottom tattoos the only decent 1 is Danis'. Hands down, no question.

She even said she'd saved Dani just because she's a girl not because her tattoo wasn't the worst.

While I shouldn't feel bad for anyone getting a tattoo on this show, I actually feel bad for Heather, the girl with the neck tattoo in the first one that Matt did. I hope maybe the tattoo lightened up a bit over the years or maybe lasered off the tattoo a little bit to lighten it up in the way she wanted it to look. Even though she also voted Matt on the bottom, she did say she only didn't like how dark it was.
Is it just me or has Ink Master ruined it for watching ANY other tattooing shows....?!? Every single time I watch another show I'm like, "well if they did that tattoo on Ink Master, they would be sent home" or "that would never fly on Ink Master" I'm ruined for any other show.
Dani fixed up the eagle after the show! She extended the wings onto the guys neck and added the trash polka details that he originally wanted, and it looks fab now :D
Duffy killed it on her piece. she got a lot of coverage, dark/bold, perfect alignment. it’s a badass tattoo yet so feminine I love it. hands down one of the best neck pieces on the entire show

Literally only watched this to see Duffys throat tattoo with the gem work. Beautiful. My left arm is a sleeve with gems for my kids birthstones. I dig it.
it makes me really sad how hostile some of the guys are towards the women. Laura did amazing and deserved that top placing and she was being talked down to and you can tell most of the guys disapproved of that choice. I feel like Dani had the odds against her and she did what she could with the situation. She was being attacked so deliberately and the only one who seemed to be on her side is Laura. The guys were so rude to Dani and Laura during judging and I'm so glad Dani didn't get sent home. I also feel horrible for all the artists who ended up not doing as well because planning and sketching took so long. half the time it isn't their fault and it's really heartbreaking when you can tell the artist has the client's best interest in mind. Cam also tried to defend himself by saying "well you guys have really high expectations from me so it's not fair" that's not how that works? expectations are high because of good work, if you don't live up to that, that is your own fault. consistency is hard, especially with tattooing because of how diverse everything is - I get it, staying consistent in one style can be hard enough, but come on. it feels like such a weak defense and honestly is the worst argument I've seen so far. I feel like there are a lot of unfair judgments on this show that sends the wrong people home. lots of people stayed that shouldn't have and a lot of people that deserved to continue were sent home.

Different eras have differing outlooks, and were brought up differently, why they shouldn't impose their views on us and vice versa, eventually the old views die out and eventually our views could die out or seem relics of the past.
@@markymarksthirdnipple8305 weird, make up and all that traditionally started off for men. But of course you didn't know that.

Yeah it’s ridiculous
It's all TV drama. Tattoos are the only real thing on the show lol
Just incase youve forgotten, Chris is a Marine.
They never let you forget
@@MessiMixx I had a marine as a home class teacher and he found a way to mention it literally once every day. "My sister had a baby." "Oh nice, my wife had a baby when I was TRAINING TO BE IN THE MARINE CORPS."

@@MessiMixx lol nope
It feels like lots of artists in the show does that, like him saying he is a marine nonstop, Jesse and Jime nonstop says they're new school artists, Randy Vollink says he is gay nonstop, and Ryan Ashley saying she is a black and Grey artist nonstop. Duffy’s tattoo was done so damn beautifully. I love it
I knew Duffy would be here. I’ll be back when they’re more comments lol.
Her work is gorgeous

She is someone I would get a tattoo from any day. Her work was amazing.
Kruseman: tattooing a straight line on a throat is damn near impossible.
Also Kruseman: let's do a Bird cage
straight across like Matt did... and he was right. like chris said, looks as if someone slit her throat.
After watching Ink Master I have come to the conclusion that my tatts were poorly applied. Blow outs here, scratchy lines there and just poor application. Dang.
Time to get cover ups lmao
Get what you pay for I got a marginal tiger tattoo lol
oh man do i feel you there! i swear after watching these, then looking at mine, i feel like all mine look like prison tatts.
Me too man! Good thing it was only my first one. Definitely needed more knowledge of what a good tattoo is supposed to look like.
Lol. It happens. Even on ink master:
18:22 the dude just immediately saying "it will grow back" is like the dopest thing you can say to somebody that mentions the idea of shaving their head. I shaved mine even though my bf hated the idea, he got to appreciate the change later on tho. We still together and he's changed his views on a lot of stuff so he's been supportive of my intended and actual body mods I have. He's the best!
Edit:spelling whoops
No it's the most dismissive thing you can say. It takes a long time to grow hair to any real length and shockingly you liking it has no effect on whether anyone else wants to shave their head.
Congrats on having a boyfriend you have so little care or respect for that you'd do something you knew he hated without a thought 👏 well done you.

Duffys throat tattoo is so good. It’s one of the best ever on here.
I loved Duffy’s ❤️❤️❤️
I loved it too, it was just goddamn perfect
Matt's tattoo was an atrocity. It was supposed to be lace, lace should be light and airy. She had a big black triangle on her throat.
Duffy’s literally made my jaw drop! That’s an absolutely STUNNING tattoo
I hate that the judges are like: "men must have masculine tattoos"... 😑
Girls = feminine tattoos
@@dihs5246 How is that related to my comment?
@@LoreleiSetyrCane They do exactly the same to both genders. I don't remember which season but once a guy tattoo a great new school design. And they say it was bad because it wasn't feminine....
And it sucked because that was a cool tattoo, regardless their canvas gender
@@dihs5246 Yeah, I commented something like that on another Inkmaster video. Wish they would just let people get the tattoos they want to get and consider what the canvas wanted while judging.
"You’re interrupting me" LOVED how laura called it out.
Laura cutting Pon off with “you’re interrupting me” made me feel good lmaoo
When we're gonna get a video called "the 100 times where Chris said he's a Marine"
It's no joke.
matt should’ve gone home. he literally PAINTED HER NECK BLACK.
Artist: I know I can nail this
Me after watching the same clip on 5 different ink master compilations: NO YA CANT
Genuine question: how is an hourglass worse than a birdcage? Aren’t there more straight lines in the birdcage than the hourglass?

All three were bad, danis' was very unproportionate.

@@jaywjr2456 well you're wrong. And nice bit of selective memory there 👍 Laura made an alliance with the other two too, then turned round and stabbed them in the back the second they were up against one of the women she said she didn't have an alliance with.
They were supposed to be playing in teams, it was Laura who talked out her arse just to save her team. She even said she'd saved Dani just because she's a girl not because her tattoo wasn't the worst.
If you think for one second that that goofy T-Rex bird was the best tattoo out of the three you’re insane. If I went into a shop and got that tattoo they would be putting a big black square on the back of my neck before I left. It was a God awful tattoo and the only reason she didn’t go home was because she’s a girl

I've always loved Steve. His art is beautiful, his style is awesome, and his sassiness is hilarious
it makes me really sad how hostile some of the guys are towards the women.

No matter what anyone says, yes the canvas chose to get tattooed but she didnt deserve a sharpie triangle on her neck.

I can’t believe they aloud for all these clients to get there throats blasted when they have like no tattoos at all. Most regular professional shops won’t tattoo a throat if the client isn’t heavily tattooed already.
