I just installed one tonight. Did a Blaupunkt Memphis 440bt on a 2003 tahoe with Bose. Super loud! Had to use the GM2000SW interface, GM6 antenna adapter and GMK422 PAC mounting kit. Had to cut a few tabs in the back of the cage with a hacksaw blade and the two small centering tabs up front but it fit perfectly and works great. You can disable that annoying tap beep thru the system sound settings, you have to scroll the page upwards to find the beep setting.
@@brianmueller7913 You can if you buy the expensive compatible adapter. I did mine on a budget so I lost the volume control function from the steering wheel.
@@weskarcher483 Thanks for the quick response. So your wiring harness routed the signal through the factory amp? And, did the sound quality improve over the stock Bose system?
@@brianmueller7913 I got this mixed up with my Challenger install. I don't think i had the stereo control option on my Tahoe. The Bose stereo could only play the radio, the cd player wasn't working so it was an upgrade from that old radio. Yea it's been awhile since i changed it out but i remember running into an issue with the amp. I had to order something else for it for it to work properly. I will dig in that old box and see what wrappers are in there. I kept all the receipts and packages.

Were you able to retain the steering wheel controls of the radio?

I have the kit but lost the remote for the steering werl can it still work?

I found that the factory ( on the truck )male entenia plug is smaller than the female port on the back of the new system how does that work?
