I own the Car 1000 and the basic answer is you'll need a screw driver to unscrew the screws that hold the tablet part on. On the sides of the tablet there's a bracket that fits into the bracket that is on the radio part and it allows you to put screws into it that will stay in whatever angle you want. The tablet has a detachable harness plugged into it. So basically you'll have to unscrew the screws in the brackets holding the tablet to the radio but you can theoretically take it off without having to uninstall.
