+Astrid Hofferson FAN I was getting online and then all of the sudden random pop ups and then one kept popping up with a lady saying "please call this number you have a virus installed and not to make any online shopping." So I called the number it told me to call.. and it was a man and he was quite unprofessional n his phone had wierd static in the background and he called me back twice? business people don't do that do they??when i told him why I was calling then he was like "Oh yea yea yea yea can I ask you age? "and I told him and then he said I was lying to him and he asked if my mother was home and i asked why did he ask this and he said"if i am going to fix your computer It will cost.". Then he said," Do you want me?" I didn't trust all that... it sounded fake......SO.....I'm on here checking how I can see for myself.

Ok I though I had a virus and I typed cmd and it brought the black box up so I'm safe, it might just need an upgrade or something maybe it's just slow because I have lots of big games.

When i run a avast smart scan it runs a scan of loads of types and it said the virus scan failed and the rest didnt fail, so do i have a virus?

well my dad built my pc so it aint hi-tech its made from scrap metal it seemed to be working fine then, BOOM out of nowhere i start playing animal jam and it glitches so hard that im tearing up, even after i unclog my pc it STILL glitches

i have a super amount of popups and most say several things to clean up it started as 100 or so now its up to 14277, i have things downloaded i don't even know what they are, its super buggy and ALOT slower then when i bought it and it all started when i was playing minecraft (it was the only download i had) and got interrupted by a popup saying "Warning Your computer may have caught a virus" i thought it wasn't legit but it was rom then on

I have Malwarebytes and AVAST installed on my computer
I have a question, so a few days ago I've experienced my computer with a red line at the left side. Another few days past and it became a red and green line. Another and it's now yellow. But now, the right side has a green line on it. Until now the lines are not yet disappearing. Is this a sign of a virus?

BoZzSnipezZ Are you using a surge protector? If not, you most likely have to reset your computer. The amount of electricity that comes from a power outage or brown out can really mess up your computer. That is why if you have a surge protector, your computer will be safe from brown outs or black outs. The surge protector takes in the voltage of electricity that is about to go into your computer and basically fry the mother board, video card, audio card, everything! Be careful about those black outs and brown outs when you aren't using a surge protector.

Thank god I don't have a virus. I downloaded PaintTool.sai and it said that it was a malicious software. So I uninstalled it and I didn't open it. I did everything you said I needed to do to see if I had a virus and nothing.

Step 3: run both scans at same time (run full pc scan)

You know their might something wrong with your screen, like it died that happened to my computer and my mom's computer, and we both ended up having to get a new screen because it's just one of those things where their's nothing you can really do, but buy a new screen I mean you could try fixing it, but it's VERY unlikely. Now i'm not saying that's the problem, but I'm just warning you that might be it because it sounded just the same as me and my mom's computer, and if it is don't worry even though you do get a new screen you'll still have all your data.
I have the sims and my computer is perfectly fine so you either have something else downloaded that's causing the problem or your screen
try reinstalling the game. if this does not fix it try updating your video card drivers as they may be outdated. if this doesn't work make sure you have a legitimate copy of the sims. if this doesn't work, it is either a virus or your computers hardware

I hope you get yours fixed too! (my fault was that firewall was blocking it. but that is not wat is explained in the video)

I'm having major problems with internet explore 8.
google homepage or my yahoo, every time i log in (it's on my desktop) i cannot exit out by way of the X in the upper right
corner. Same thing for the box to make screen bigger (not F11) I never had to use the alt+F4 before, now. And sometimes have to minimize the site I'm on, then have to right click the ie logo in the task bar and close window, have to wait few minutes for that .
I don't know how to fix this it's driving me crazy

Idk if I have a virus or not, but when I try to look something up on Google, it would say "Unusual traffic from your computer network." Is it a virus? What I noticed is that I downloaded this app called Geoproxy that I downloaded from the Chrome Web Store and whenever it is enabled, I can't look up anything on Google.
It is Yahoo! Toolbar. Don't install it. Use Malware bytes instead.
No it is not. My family's PC had popups on google and toolbars. Malwarebytes found 54 PUPs. Once the scan and reboot was done. BOOM!!! THE PUPs and toolbars where gone. I am not advertising.

OK first of all, troll? Second you are an idiot because you made an assumption. I corrected you no insulted.
The way you find out if your computer has a virus is to check Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc and then go to Details tab. Check that there isn't anything suspicious running in the background. Also check Performance tab and see if the CPU usage is going to 100%. If it does then it's virus. If it stays to 1-2-3 or 0% then it means it's clean. Also check memory usage that it's not spiking. Make sure to check even the legit system files such as taskhost.exe and svchost.exe to see if they haven't been modified by right clicking and check whether the Modified and Created dates are exactly identical! That way you know nothing malicious has modified your system files.
I used to get viruses from downloading torrents. Now as a PC Gamer I no longer download pirated software for the last 5 years and have never had a single virus since. It's not worth risking downloading from torrent pirated software because in them they often hid a virus file. Viruses often get disguised in the form of No DVD cracks and when they don't have original game logo icons that's something to be especially wary of! Just buy original DVD copies of your PC games or better buy a CD Key and download it digitally through Steam, GOG, Origin, etc. That way you'll always have a peace of mind.
Remember downloading blindly from torrent is like having unprotected sex with a person who you do not know whether he/she has STD such as HIV. Better to stay safe than feel sorry. Reformatting and reinstalling windows is a big, big hassle and it's something which I would always avoid hence why I never blindly download anything from the internet without coming from legitimate resources!

Ok guys, i found something out for all you guys who has a Windows Computer. Now first go to your start and type in mrt.
Once you have done that go check if you have any virusses.

anthem11212 Good question, but no, it does not remove anything, i tried it and it did nothing, but i cant know it, because it only said to me: 1 thread (or something else) found. Now i clicked continue or something and then it didn't said remove thread, so i think its not removeable. Try Super Anti Spyware or CCleaner. It helps alot. It only does say 1 thread, but yea that application of windows (mrt) is not working at all. But thanks for your question.

anthem11212 Yes, i think so, go search on UA-cam (actually if it works XD) if Hitman Pro or Malwarebytes anti-malware is safe, if it is, you can download it but i should download nothing, because you cant get hacked easily. So dont worry if u are hacked, if ads are on your computer screen then download malwarebytes, because i dont know Hitman Pro. So i should download malwarebytes.

uninstall programs you dont need, download security essentials ( only for windows 7 ) but if you have windows 8, use windows defender because its an anti-virus program from windows, and its just part of windows 8. use google chrome , ad block. and if google chrome is slow, has ads still, uninstall it and use internet explorer ok thats advice !
Considering you have Windows 8 on this computer, it is likely that you have not had this computer for very long which either means you have to many programs or background processes running at one time or you have a virus. hitman pro is an amazing anti-virus and anti-malware tool. it even removes potentially unwanted programs (PUP's). I also use Malwarebytes Anti-malware and Malwarebytes Anti-exploit to stop malicious programs and browser exploits. If it doesn't install, you may have a virus blocking it. try Malwarebytes Chameleon in this instance and follow the steps onscreen. hope this helps.

No not really the advanced ones can easily get past your firewall but it may block some. You might as well download Avast or one of the other anti viruses.
no program can 100% stop every virus, try some different ones like hitman pro and malwarebytes anti-malware to see if you can remove it.
if this is in the browser, advertisements do pop up to serve ad revenue to the people who host the websites to keep them running. which means you don't have to pay a subscription ☺. if this is ads like as soon as you open your browser and out of place ads, you may have adware, which creates revenue for a hacker by sending this software to a lot of computers (by whatever means they try to infect your computer) and display the user ads to generate the attacker money.
But still my anti-virus on my computer is up to something. It's red won't finish a scamming and I have to stand on top of it. Meanwhile, everything on my computer is strangely slow like if a storm is coming but I don't have a storm coming, my network from 9pm to 4pm has been died nothing, and that black box that she showed us came up. But my house has the same anti-virus meaning if something fishy happens any computer than the whole house knows about. But still worry some.

Try loading your computer in safe mode so it only loads the essentials by pushing F8 on startup of the computer. Try safe mode with networking so the antivirus software can update. if this fails, you could try a system restore.
Easy do factory reset or install Windows with a USB 👍

dont use norton, its useless to pay for an anti-virus and "how" does it crash? blue screen? random restart? what are you doing before it crashes how long does it take etc? lock ups? virus dont usually make a computer crash, what you describe sounds more like hardware failure, overheating on the cpu, or something like that

I stopped getting addons for WoW ever since I got a keylogger that hacked my account and lost everything.
It's weird since i've been downloading torrents, cracked games and mods with no anti virus i just turned on windows defender and norton... Doesn't detect anything and i don't have any of these problems mentioned in this video :D

This is adware. It generally doesn't like to uninstall and presents the user with ads. try removing it with malwarebytes anti-malware and see how it goes.

the most common virus is when chrome explodes with "administrator enabled" extensions and browsers then clutters up your desktop with somewhere around 5 shortcuts to "new applications" . Trust me, the simplest ways is to reinstall windows.

Anti viruses are crap, i once download avast free version and when it find out that i have a virus (alot of viruses) it said "do you want for them to get deleted" and i of course clicked delete guess what? It sended me to the full version page to buy it if i want to delete the virus. Antivirus programs are crap.

Shady Sama Just go to the start menu (Windows 95, 97, XP, Vista, 7) or if you are on Windows 8 or 10, go to the right side of your screen and click search. Then search "task manager". Click "view running processes with the task manager". You will then be in the task manager window. :)
