- Easily Clean A Virus Infected Computer
Remember the method I used in this video might not be necessary for your computer or may take a different approach in removing your type of malware infection, if you follow this guide and you break your computer or lose data, you done so at your own risk. I will take no responsibility if something goes wrong with your computer. This is just a basic and brief guide on removing malware. There are many steps in removing malware properly and safely.
Not all computers that get infected with Malware / Virus / Adware / Ransomware / spyware need to be formatted back to factory default settings. People with no experience can remove simple Adware if they know how. There are plenty of tools that help you clean a computer up and help you remove malware for free.
The problem is, no computer infection is the same and some are very hard to fix and will take a very skilled person to do so. Rootkits can lay undetected and are very dangerous to have on the system. With everyone doing online banking nowadays it’s very important to make sure the system is clean and free from any virus that maybe still on the computer.
Your options are:
Take computer to a pc repair shop, trouble is, not all computer repair shops know how to deal with Malware and will restore pc back to factory settings without the care of your data and programs.
Do factory reset yourself and save money.
Go to forum that helps you remove malware for free.
Tackle the problem yourself by running scans with free software.
Not all Malware is the same and you could running into problems and break your operating system, sometimes your registry or windows may need to be repaired to make it work again after you remove the infection. This can be difficult for the beginner or average user.
No matter what infection you have, to make sure your security has not been compromised, always change bank passwords and other important passwords to be on the safe side. If you’re in any doubt about the computer and think there could still be malware on the system, reset back to factory settings to be on the safe side.

I think this video is a great way to learn how to keep your system clean and operational. I have watched a number of Brian's videos to increase my knowledge of computers. However, I use my common sense when I don't understand the process, or what the outcome may be afterward. Brian clearly states a professional may be the best option if in doubt. Research, due diligence, and Britec09 have increased my understanding of computers immensely. I still consider myself a neophyte after viewing this video. So Much To Learn. When I check infected systems I also use Zemana AntiMalware and Emsisoft emergency kit, I think they are worth being used and mentioned.

Hello, everytime i use malwarebytes it says that i have Hyjack Autoconfig,url (wich closes my google chrome randomly) and it cleans it, but after 1 day or 2 it comes back again. Any tip to solve?
Was this computer just infected normally, or did you purposely get in infected for the purpose of removing it? Just curious because that virus looks nasty haha. Great video by the way!

just wanted to share my experience here
i am using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on a laptop i5 2nd Gen
i already have installed microsoft security essential, Avg antivirus, malwarebytes
after watching this video i decided to install all the mentioned virus removal tools
Reason core security defined avg antivirus as threat
AdW cleaner termed reason core security as threat
Microsoft malicious software removal tool was OK
free fixer was OK
Panda cloud scanner didn't run after installation and the windows just got hanged and had to restart the windows forcefully
Farbar recovery scan tool was also OK and just generated report in txt format
ESET online scanner in the beginning warned about the presence of previously installed antivirus that may affect the performance of the scan. It found threats and fixed them
Hitman pro found some threats and fixed them
i found this video very useful
one should not rely only on one antivirus
a good practice is to try other antivirus also but must take backup prior to proceed

246 viruses attacked my computer and i’m not sure what i had downloaded for that to happen. It attacked my internet solely. I was being ddosed just by having my computer on. I did plenty of speed test and i had over 500 ping on everything. Playing games i would rubber band everywhere and the. i tried hard resetting but it wouldn’t let me. After all of this i did a speed test and i went to 3 ping. The biggest relief of my life
These are all great programs and i have used them all as well as recommended them. i also recommend Zemana just because it specializes in things like Hijacks in user data, browser extensions and browser home pages. each tool is unique like that in that it finds things the others don't. thanks for the good advice!

You know, I run a computer repair shop and have for the better part of 12 years. It still amazes me that people still buy windows machines. Not only are infections rampant, they are almost the expected norm. Its 2016 and I'm getting in machines regularly with AV and Malwarebytes installed that are so infected as to be useless. I'm glad ppl do still buy Windows boxes because it keeps me in business. If everyone was running Mac or Linux machines I'd be out of business. Amazing.
+dragonballjiujitsu But if windows was to become the less used OS and Linux or Mac become the most popular, the malware creators would then create malware for them machines. Windows has the monopoly, so it will attack them first and the reason why you still see infection on windows with Antivirus and malwarebytes installed is because these are fresh samples that have not been added to the database for malwarebytes and antivirus company's.
Britec09 I have heard the popularity based argument for years and its simply not true. With as many Mac hating nerds out there if they could infect Macs they absolutely would. I have in fact made open challenges on computer tech forums for years asking people to please infect my Mac. Not one person in 7 years have been able to. These are other professionals who work on computers daily for their living. If it could be done they could do it. The ONLY way to infect a mac is to manually install the malware and even then its generally not very malicious of hard to remove. Also there are zero viruses for Mac in the wild. So, there is that. From a security standpoint and an ease of use standpoint, most ppl are better served with Linux or Mac.
+dragonballjiujitsu I have also heard most people are better of with Linux or Mac for years, its debate that will run and run. Linux is not user friendly. I use Linux, but that don't mean the average user can just install and use it without issue. Linux is great until it don't work lol Its not windows that needs fixing, most are down to user error. Its educating the user that really needs fixing.
Britec09 There are two kinds of Linux users. Set it and forget it, and ubergeeks. For everyone else there is Mac. Extremely user friendly, Dirt simple to use and far more powerful that Windows. As for educating the user: While I agree its important, shouldn't the average user be able to surf the web normally without constant worry of being infected? Saying all the problems are user error while Macs are not being infected is kind of backwards.
Smoking Crop A few points here. First of all how do you compare a hand full of malware, most of which has to be manually installed to the millions (hundreds of millions?) of infections for Windows, many of which will infect with no user action? Second: You do realize Kaspersky sells AV right? lol For them to make such a stupid remark is proof positive they are only interested in selling a product. 10 years behind? Meanwhile I have never had a single infected mac in my shop in 12 years. Unhuh. Believe what you like...lol
Exactly what I would do I would also run ccleaner and instead of deleting stuff in roaming I would compress the files with password using winrar. So if I delete stuff by accident I could replace them. Thanks for another great video

Best defence is,image of computer and regular backups. Also nuke drive and reinstall image and restore data from backups. If done properly should not take long.
dear bro Britec idk the name of the virus i bye new hard disk..and install the windows in but its seems i have the same problem at new1 so now i have 2 hard disk infected .... the virus can stop any anti-virus program also anti-maleware even the update of the windows .. maybe he live in motherboard or graphic card is there any solution pls help
fastest way =open command prompt type systemreset -factoryreset and it will reset your pc

If I get any malware on my own rig, I simply format & reinstall it, no questions asked.. It takes as long as a long movie to reinstall it on my SSD (including reinstall the programs).. no biggie. But I haven't gotten/found any yet. :)

I have a virus when my programs open up I lose control of left/right click
I always like to start with a few networking commands
netsh i i r r
netsh winsock reset
netsh winhttp reset proxy
ipconfig /flushdns
inetcpl.cpl
Then check proxy reset all sec zones ect. then I proceed.
Also for PE, I always make sure verified signers is on and VT hash submission is on. Good flow though.

Good video. Yeah ESET works fine in removing virus and even Comodo Antivirus is good which can also be given a try.

I got a message saying “your system is damaged and your files will be deleted” and my dumb ass downloaded the link provided to “prevent” the virus. Ever since, my computer has been EXTREMELY slow and especially in game. I’ve done multiple virus scans and removed the viruses and malware and even restarted my computer. Nothing has worked and I’m worried. This is a new computer and I just so happen to screw it up

These programs do not guarantee the malware is gone, just what they can find. Also malware messes up your system. Best practice is to wipe drive and reinstall from a known clean source i.e Windows disk or an image that was made from a Clean install.

I remember this now this is the same problem my older brother 😂🤔Had, but he had all the screen go different flashing colours, Enderman talking in there that sounded very creepy he asked my brother for his phone on the other end and then a pink screen asking him for a good time, I I laughed and said what have you done 🤷♂️,and had the exact same black screen that everything was wiped off✌️, & a creepy blocks were talking in the background 😂 if his PC, on the other end of online, my guess is he depressed on something he shouldn't have, he kept blaming it on the apps I dought it was apps that would wreck your PC 🤔, I was so frightened for my older brother, the PC was definitely done, I had to do something similar to what you just did but I on the other hand it was a bit more luckier, and I didn't have to boot from the but I did go into the settings and command prompt,☮️ ✌️...

CAUTION: This video is out of date. You can no longer use `proxy' in Google Chrome, so you cannot access the internet. I had to use Hitman Pro, Eset Online Scanner etc in normal mode and it caused some damage to my PC and it wouldn't start up. I had to do a system restore a number of times to fix it.

OK well I couldn't even do the MRT thing because it was not recognized what do I do now??? Every time I login regular they immediately disable my keyboard. I can't do most of the commands like my start button does not work anymore I don't have permission to use my control panel or device manager and I can't find anybody to help the cable people came out here and they said it's not their problem since the router is working so I'm at a loss here most of these tutorials I can't use because everything to change it back is denied or missing. I reinstalled windows after wiping everything off six times although their stuff is still on there afterwards it just takes off my files. I downloaded the kapersky repair this but it won't load to the network and it's not reading my C drive

Actually most of the software was blocked by my PC only hitmanpro was able to run and it did works no pop up and random edge web ad pop too
My pc it totally broken i got infected over 9 months ago and when it started to pop up the virus and proplems i was stupid i wasn't thinking right so i turned the pc off and the other day i turned my pc on and it was totally black screen in fact there was nothing my monitor wasn't detecting any signal i changed the hdmi and the graphics card but nothing worked and over 9 month's still not fixed :(

a old friend sent me a link on steam. and said it was a link to a free steam game key. he used to send me legit ones all the time so i trusted him. and it downloaded and ran a exe file and now my laptops fucked by a heavy duty rootkit. and a plethora of other crap. i cant go into any recovery setting. every single back door way of getting into any recovery mode is unavailable. and it wont allow me to run a lot of programs along with most trusted well known antivirus software such as avg or malwarebytes. i get the error the requested resource is in use on a lot of things. if i go to my recovery settings it wont let me reset my pc or restore to a older point. ive tired just about everything. pressing f8 or f11 or shift on start up does nothing. i can get into my bios. but i tried a hiren boot usb but it wasnt working either. also i can get into safe mode with msconfig. i have no idea what the fuck to do. this computer was my life. if anyone can help please do.
