I thought of an interesting idea recently: Purple Edits on HK. By that I mean chefs who were rarely featured in the edit compared to others. I’d be curious to hear who you guys think the Purple Kellies of Hell’s Kitchen are. Some I can think of: Shayna (Season 4) LA (Season 5) Jim (Season 6) Jamie and Elizabeth (Season 9) Michael (Season 11) Adam (Season 14) Heidi (Season 16) Benjamin (Season 17) Megan (Season 20) Sakari (Season 21) And note, I’m more focusing on mid to high-placing chefs with this. What do you guys think?
I would also add, that for a couple of them (Elizabeth and Adam mainly), the edits would then make them stupid, Elizabeth where to begin, and with Adam, mainly the using Milly's rice
@@varisrevolver4061 oh my goodness, I forgot about the Rice thing with Adam! Yea, that was one of the rare times we ever saw him in the edit, wasn’t it?
@@varisrevolver4061 as for Elizabeth, she’s a strong contender for being THE Purple Kelly of HK. She made it to just missing the last black jacket (to Elise of all people), but she was BARELY shown at all up until then. Most I remember from her is the bit where she cost the red team that one challenge by telling them to make Asian dishes instead of Hawaiian and serving surf-and-turf to a pescatarian, and by apologizing 10 times quickly in a row when called out by Ramsay. I also included Jamie for that season since she was barely featured in the edit either. It’s almost like unless you were involved with Elise (or her feud with Carrie) or had been moved to the Blue Team (Natalie), not many women that season were featured all that much.
Season 11's blue team wasn't that toxic, they were just bad outside of 2 or 3. Season 9's red team and season 16's blue team are so bad that I entirely skip those seasons.
Maybe he does maybe he dosen't. I swear i remember one time the red team was complaining to him about one of their team mates attitudes and he flat out stated he didn't care. Then again on another cooking show, Chopping Block i believe, they had also said they don't care what happens outside the kitchen, yet one time near the finale the contestants got drunk and one of them literally pulled another in a headlock trying to force him to get his head shaved forcing him to lock himself in the bathroom for safety. The next morning one of the judges came in and immediately sent the dude home. So who knows.
Don’t worry. His fiancé called it off and dumped him after seeing the show. I feel so bad for her watching that, but it was good that she got to see Andrew for what he was. An unfaithful, sexist, part-time misogynistic asshole.
I don’t know if you’ve already done this yet but I’d love a “worst to best evolutions” compilation. Chefs who start at the absolute bottom but turn things around in later episodes to become one of their respective seasons’ best. I love me a good redemption arc.
“Maybe if I’d have cried like a pansy id be upstairs right now, but I’m a man, so I won’t do that. I am gonna go get drunk, though.” Ah yes, that’s much healthier than letting yourself experience all those womanly emotions
One moment of karma I can think of off the top of my head involves Season 17 with Elise and Michelle. Elise treated Michelle badly constantly throughout the season after the two of them had a disagreement, but unlike Season 9, Elise not only would not get a black jacket but Michelle would get a black jacket and win Season 17 (especially by putting Elise on her team). Elise's crying at the end of Season 17 was so satisfying to many.
Yes! Elise elimination that season was way more satisfying than season 9 because not only did she nor make it to black jackets, but Michelle also ended up winning. So yea karmas a f*ckin bitch!
@@daniellerose1114 And didn't force a negative mark on two other mostly likable contestant while throwing a third under the bus. Despite All Stars, I still won't forgive her for Jennifer's elimination.
Thinking about that last entry, the blue team put up Anton and Scott because of their rivalry, right? They wanted one gone, only for both to go to the red team, weakening them instead. I'm curious if there are other moments of plans working in unexpected ways.
Similar situation: The Blue Team Season 8 really wanted to get rid of Raj so badly because how much pathetic he is, however after Raj's getting eliminated, they all suck as well and keeps losing the members! Even Trev who got transfered to Red Team has to go back to Blue Team as he mostly got carried by Red Team.
That sentence Jason Underwood said “I’m gonna get some sugar and rub it round the rim” always cracks me up. I can’t be the only one that thinks it sounds like a sexual thing.
The funny thing is that rubbing sugar and butter around the rim is what you're supposed to do but you do it at the start. Ramsey's baffled reaction is because Jason only just thought of it after fucking up a bunch of orders.
And ironically, he ruined the entire dessert by doing what he said and makes Ramsay totally speechless, he knocks his head in a place like a chicken because of his stupidity.
Another form of karma was Scotley bullying Trev for his allergy. Not just that, but Jose and Motto (to some extent) joined in on bullying Trev. Then, Scotley got eliminated and then Jose afterwards.
“I put it in a pot of boiling water. 212 kill the bacteria”. Still one of my favorite moments in HK history due to the sheer stupidity of that statement. You don’t have to be a restaurant owner or worker to know that’s incorrect on SO MANY LEVELS. Yuck 🤮

3:56 - 4:08 BADASS HEATHER RIGHT THERE!!! This is why Heather from Season 2 is my favourite contestant EVER! I hope she could come back to Hell's Kitchen.
Not sure if this was Karma, but season 3 of HK, Rock tried telling Josh that he isnt truly an example of being a leader and Josh basically kept telling him to fuck off. Few episodes later, Josh would become the first contestant ever to be eliminated during dinner service. Oh yeah, and Rock ended up winning that season.
Benjamin Knack losing on season 7 for his garbage attitude once joining the Red Team. Especially his treatment of Siobhan following Gordon Ramsay's approval of her sandwich. He refused to admit he was wrong and chose to hound her in the privacy of the dorms afterwards. He would have never said those things in front of Ramsay.
1. 0:32 - 0:35 Not for me. I hated Matt more than Andrew. 2. Michelle getting to watch the rest of her team suffer is just amazing. She got the justice she deserved.
I've watched a few of your videos and the level of detail and dedication to the show is impressive and entertaining despite the dramatic youtube voice lmao
Another Karma that deserved to be on this list: In Season 11, Dan who has been acting like a man child the entire time even being the punching bag of the Blue Team is coming back on final dinner service to be on Mary's team. However, during the prep, he keeps disrespecting Mary and he's even not trying and struggling on making Compound Butter. He's even leaving Mary for smoking break! Even Mary is so frustrated and wants to switch team member but she didn't. Only later in dinner service, Dan makes countless mistakes on his station and Mary has enough and she becomes the first contestant to ever kicked out a team member during finale.
Andrew getting eliminated is definitely satisfying (especially thanks to his side girl and his best friend). However, what makes it less satisfying is that with Andrew gone, Paulie (another guy from the infamous Blue Team that sucks) made it to the Black Jackets. I know Andrew is a bad person, but unlike Paulie, at least Andrew is a great cook and was never put up for elimination. Like, I know nobody wants Andrew or Paulie to make it to the Black Jackets, but I am certain that if they were to choose between the 2, they'd go with Andrew. It makes sense since while Andrew dominated, Paulie sucked and was put up for elimination so many times (especially when he stayed over Devin, Wendy, and Koop). And if it was a regular dinner service instead of the Black Jacket lounge, unless the red team were to somehow lose that service (which they can't since they have Heather, Heidi, Kimberly, and Andrew), there is no doubt Paulie would be sent home and Andrew would have gotten a Black Jacket. Andrew is definitely one of the best chefs (in terms of cooking) to never get a Black Jacket, and that is what makes the Black Jacket lounge so infamous. Because while it is interesting, it has led to unfair eliminations (like Jennifer, Kanae, Nikki, etc) as the chef who dominated the entire season and never got put up for elimination would get eliminated because a chef who struggled or made mistakes and was put up for elimination at least once made a better dish. It's like one mistake, and it is over, which sucks. Like, imagine dominating Hell's Kitchen and then ending it all on A CHALLENGE INSTEAD OF DINNER SERVICE by making one mistake is heartbreaking.
When whatshisname said, "y'all women have dinner ready for us when we git home," I would have said, "You mean after you're done with my laundry? Yeah, I probably should because it seems you can't cook for yourselves....or anyone else." 🤣🤭😉🤡💩
God damn Joy was just really annoying on the show I don’t know if that was the editing making her look worse because of the way she quit, but whatever it might’ve been, it came off as really irritating to watch. So glad we had Rochelle to be so kind and passionate on the show
It's because they think women are supposed to be stay at home cooking for free for her husband, while only men apparently deserve the salary and respect that comes with being a pro chef
The misogyny on the show was always so weird to me. They’d say stupid shit like “women deserve to be in the kitchen blah blah blah” but then get pissed when women beat them in the kitchen. Like??? Do women need to be in the kitchen or not? Or do you only want them in there when you think you can beat them?
One moment would have to be Ralph. He's always getting lucky using others as scapegoats and tried to get Gabriel eliminated after he flunked on Fish n Chips. Can you mention that next time Flynn?
You should mention two more instances of karma: 1. In Season 3, Tiffany and Joanna tried getting Melissa to put Julia up for elimination, only for them to get sent home before her. 2. In Season 10, Tiffany, Kimmie and Robyn bullied Barbie, but Barbie outlasted all 3 of them.
The fact that Jen did not go home and made it to the black jackets disgusted me , as soon as I saw her ass pulling FOOD FROM THE TRASH AND WASHING IT she’d be upstairs packing her shit 🥴🤢
Can I just say the Red Team nominating Rochelle up for elimination for starting a family was not only hypocritical but extremely sexist. Kashia had a family already so by that logic, her passion would be out of the kitchen too. As well, it's extremely sexist to assume that a woman starting a family would leave her career and not work. This is why women sometimes have a tough time finding work--they assume they'll automatically want to start a family and leave the position because it's not like men can stay at home instead.
Honourable Mention goes to Patrick in Season 10 where in the Mexican challenge he picked Royce's tacos over Brian's which may have ended up costing them a win. Later during that episode's service (it was Mexican Night), Patrick struggled all night and was the first to be kicked out alongside Guy, both of whom ended up being nominated. Brian meanwhile, who had an abysmal performance on fish in the previous episode's service, was the last person standing alongside Roshni in the Blue Kitchen, both of which did really well that night.
6:50 well that and the fact that the other contestant was oblivious that she was cooking expired crab meat that could have killed someone, then trying to save her butt by saying "i'd never get pasta put of the garbage." To which ramsey said "but your fine cooking rancid crab."

One of the reasons Andrew is SOOO satisfying is because he wasn't even voted off out of maliciousness, just taste. He left fair and square, he was the worst cook.

Rochelle being nominated for elimination really pissed me off. Everyone has dreams and goals outside of work but Joy and Melody choosing Rochelle over Keisha just because she wanted to get married and start a family was just stupid.
I admit that I did find Rochelle’s laughing annoying but she proved that she can cook and that she’s a good person. I’m glad that she outlasted Joy and Keisha, take that bitches.
I agree with your comment until you said her laugh was annoying. I don't agree. We need more laughter in our world. Rochelle was a delight.
@@madhermit8 What really irks me is how Gordon always assumes people are laughing because they're amused, when CLEARLY, it's a nervous reaction to stress.
Trying to use the reasoning that someone’s desire to start a family could get in the way, to Gordon Ramsey (an infamous family man) is nuts
You should've given Jeff from S1 an honorable mention. After he stormed out of the kitchen Ramsay followed him off-camera to ask why he was leaving and then Jeff squared up and attempted to fight him but tripped and sprained his ankles. In a deleted scene there is a message stating that Jeff "left due to an injury" but they didn't state what it was so it just looked like Jeff stormed out like a dick. LOL!
I would have loved to see that 4 eyed loser get his shit rocked by chef ramsay who practices boxing and karate 😂. Jeff is such a pathetic loser he tried to square up with chef Ramsay and kicked his own ass before He let ramsay even try 😂.

I’m not surprised the red team turned against Rochelle, people like her have so much joy and energy that bitter people with terrible attitudes can’t stand it. It’s a weird paradox where really happy people make people miserable because it’s almost like it holds a mirror to them.

I thought of an interesting idea recently: Purple Edits on HK. By that I mean chefs who were rarely featured in the edit compared to others. I’d be curious to hear who you guys think the Purple Kellies of Hell’s Kitchen are. Some I can think of:
Shayna (Season 4)
LA (Season 5)
Jim (Season 6)
Jamie and Elizabeth (Season 9)
Michael (Season 11)
Adam (Season 14)
Heidi (Season 16)
Benjamin (Season 17)
Megan (Season 20)
Sakari (Season 21)
And note, I’m more focusing on mid to high-placing chefs with this. What do you guys think?
YES I LOVE IT
I would also add, that for a couple of them (Elizabeth and Adam mainly), the edits would then make them stupid, Elizabeth where to begin, and with Adam, mainly the using Milly's rice
@@varisrevolver4061 oh my goodness, I forgot about the Rice thing with Adam! Yea, that was one of the rare times we ever saw him in the edit, wasn’t it?
@@heymistercarter. I tend to remember him a lot, but yeah, I don't remember much of his edits

I believe Ramsey looks back at the footage or is told about any sexist comments and immediately decides that they won't win

I am gonna go get drunk, though.”
Ah yes, that’s much healthier than letting yourself experience all those womanly emotions

Similar situation:
The Blue Team Season 8 really wanted to get rid of Raj so badly because how much pathetic he is, however after Raj's getting eliminated, they all suck as well and keeps losing the members! Even Trev who got transfered to Red Team has to go back to Blue Team as he mostly got carried by Red Team.
I love how 2 out of 5 of these moments are from the season 16 blue team.
this content is so good i binge ur videos over and over
You talk about sexist chefs in number 4 and you DIDN'T include Frank?!?!?!
Also, I like the switch to good karma in number 2.
Frank got some great karma too! Deployed from the military because he disrespected a female officer is pretty damn good irony
Loads of these Chef Ramsay videos came into my UA-cam feed after I watched "The Menu." That was a great movie.
Okay the first one, I thought he was single and just flirting with the girl, but then he said “I’m engaged” 😨
I love that atleast in that clip with Michelle when they didn't add that dish, no one seemed upset she got the regular milkshake LMAO
Then, Scotley got eliminated and then Jose afterwards.
the way andrew has a whole ass son too
“I put it in a pot of boiling water. 212 kill the bacteria”. Still one of my favorite moments in HK history due to the sheer stupidity of that statement. You don’t have to be a restaurant owner or worker to know that’s incorrect on SO MANY LEVELS. Yuck 🤮
I know right! Everyone remembers the getting out of the bin, but seems to forget the 212 part. To me that's so much worse and dangerous.

Another Karma that deserved to be on this list:
In Season 11, Dan who has been acting like a man child the entire time even being the punching bag of the Blue Team is coming back on final dinner service to be on Mary's team.

It’s not karma. It’s justice. Andrew from season 16 is proof.
Most satisfying was Michelle winning season 17 while Elise cries and Michelle ask her what’s wrong 🤣
You know a team is bad when it’s most likable member cheated on his wife on international tv
For Part 3, you should include the part in Season 1 where Andrew not only got a second chance, but also a *_THIRD CHANCE_* just to spite Jessica.
Another part of Andrew's Karma is that Andrew joins the bullying of Kimberly, and Ramsay chooses Kimberly over Andrew for the black jacket.

For no.4, preeeeetty sure Garrett apologised, no? I thought they bonded pretty well in the blue team in the end.
I absolutely despised the entire blue team in season 16 apart from may be Aaron and Devin. Just a bunch of a-holes.
