I love how much joy I feel watching you catch a nice fish! Amazing after all the videos you’ve done how excited you get. I always enjoy your adventures. Thanks for sharing so often with us!
That's awesome - as I said a few days ago, I think smallmouths are the finest gamefish, in terms of overall fighting ability. They pull almost as hard as a redfish, but they also have that acrobatic ability in the air. As I also said, I wish we had them in Louisiana.
So impressed with the constant improvement of the content and your skills as a angler, cameraman, drone operator, editor…It’s like you were collecting footballs out there
Very nice. I remember catching the biggest smallie of my life on Tim Ford Lake. I threw a bitsy bug down this downed tree over a rock bluff. He weighed around 5.5 pounds. He went under the boat twice and was banging on the hull. Lol.
Nothing wrong with floating a stream, river, or creek in fact I like what ever you're doing pertaining to fishing it was loaded with SM bass some great catches, great video as always!🎣👍
What a fun adventure! I'm not sure I have EVER seen you so excited! Smallmouth are about all I catch in the Kennebec River near where we live, but I haven't caught one anywhere near as big as yours. (Plus, it's still cold here!) Thanks for sharing your fun day with us.
Your first fish landed after the intro we could see other smallies chasing the hooked fish. That's a great day to put a smile on your face 😀. Blessings brother, more bronze coming!
Nice float great catches the best anchor for river floats is a eight inch link of 3/8 log chain tethered to paracord pull the cord thru the scupped hole in the back of the kayak. you can adjust how muck drag as to how slow you wait to go. you can also put a short bungee cord between the chain and the paracord in the event the chain hands it will give you a little cushion when it stops
Dude, nice smallies, you really need a power pole though. Added one to my yak last year and don't know how I fished without it. It was really nice to see you throw them back, that's our future.
That was a great float. Some really decent quality smallmouth. Note: If you want to weigh a fish but don't have a scale, simply multiply the length by the girth by the girth divided by 800. LxGxG/800. The weight is in lbs and fairly accurate.
Fun video! 😊 If/when you come back up to Michigan try floating the Chippawa river. It's known for trout and smallies. Then you can try Saginaw Bay/Lake Huron.
Nothing beats catching smallies I live right on the little t and I have secret places I fish that have quite a few good small mouth and big red eye bass.. 🔥
you can't beat these fish with a stick - hope you manage to get a pb smallie this year - try some different stuff like big large baits (chubs or whatever you can catch micro fishing up a feeder creek or with a castnet) - yeah you may tangle with an occasional muskie but big large baits will increase your odds for jumbo football smallmouth/shoal bass and the occasional catfish or whatever - I think you do need to fish the bigger waters - wear your mae west or floating fishing vest - that big fast water can freak anybody out but if you have the gear you should be all set even in worst case - wear sunscreen
John I had the pleasure of talking to the gentleman you went with in the bass boat and caught that 4 pound spot , he and I talked awhile at bass pro some weeks back , I’m staying down here in Benton Tn for about 4 days , can u give me any tips on some places to fish the bank on hiwassee , I’m assuming highway 30 . I’m also gonna fish parksville dam , all I have is my gear and my feet no boat with me .
Man you live close to me. I live in McMinnville not too far from Cleveland. We should get together sometime. I have a few really good small creeks that hold some good size smallies
@Creek Fishing Adventures Avoid Radford city. It gets too much pressure and isn't very scenic. My favorite is from the bridge at the arsenal to Whitethorne. You can get out on the rocks mid river, but you can not get on banks till you get through arsenal properly. Whitehorse has a great take out ramp.
@Creek Fishing Adventures IF you choose that one, you'll need two vehicles. It's about 8 miles. I'd be glad to partner with you. I fish from a crawdad Jon boat. I'd get someone to go with me. That way, you could use your kayak. Just let me know if you're interested.
@Creek Fishing Adventures You'll enjoy it. Large smallmouth and muskies are common. Not as good as it once was but still the premiere smallmouth fishery of Virginia
Man I had a day like this about a week ago but they’re full in spawn mode right now and they aren’t hitting anything! Can’t wait for them to start biting again
Take your time with preparedness, no net and no scale is robbing us. We really enjoy your shows and your excitement. Respectfully, Bobby Justice
The genuine happiness in this video is what fishing is all about

Well you still got big largemouth bass

Great timing! I need to do yard work but decided to ck my phone for new messages. Yard work can wait 😂
Beautiful scenery and MAN those big ol fish were fun to watch you catch I can't imagine how much fun it was to be the one landing them.

Your dedication to the snack keeps me coming back
Man, you're KILLIN' those smalleys on this river!

Nothing wrong with floating a stream, river, or creek in fact I like what ever you're doing pertaining to fishing it was loaded with SM bass some great catches, great video as always!🎣👍
Great show! Hank Parker said once, 90% of the fish are in 10% of the water. Creek/River fishing is the best! PERIOD

Got my hat in. And you're getting me amped up for my 4 day weekend. Yew!

Nice looking creek.those smallies look like a lot of fun to catch
This area is absolutely beautiful
Dude, nice smallies, you really need a power pole though. Added one to my yak last year and don't know how I fished without it. It was really nice to see you throw them back, that's our future.
I’m starting to think I really need to get one
This was a really enjoyable video, great catches and beautiful water. Thanks John

Great trip! I’m ready for Kentucky to start getting fired up. I’ve been a fan from way back. Keep up the great work and God Bless
What area do you fish in KY?
@@dominica5416 I live in NKY but I fish all over the state
11:00. Way to call that fish. First cast after you said that was a perfect ambush location.
Fun video! 😊 If/when you come back up to Michigan try floating the Chippawa river. It's known for trout and smallies. Then you can try Saginaw Bay/Lake Huron.
Great video John
Great video! Beautiful fish man. Biggie Smalls!
knew it was going to be a good video by the cover pic!
It's smallie TIME IN TENNESSEE !
Awesome video. Scenery is beautiful
On the glide bait misses try a follow up bait something like the hellgrammite or yum dinger that is fished slower.
You better watch out for those big ol snappa turla in there
Nothing beats catching smallies I live right on the little t and I have secret places I fish that have quite a few good small mouth and big red eye bass.. 🔥
Smallies out the YANG!
😎🎣🎥👍
If I I could only fish one month per year, I’d choose April. That’s a perfect day on the river!
Now this looks awesome. Great video man. 👍👍
I don’t know if you have, but can you do a gear review of your kayak and the stuff you have on it?
Man what a day with some awesome fish catches! You are making me want to start planning a trip out there to join you!! 🔥🔥🔥
yeah i hope we can get some good weather when you come out here
wow what a day
Nice fish
Nice!
I caught my first fish on the Hellgramite today!
Hopefully the Nikko hellgrammite. It's way better than the copy cats and lasts forever.
@@sbarrett8900 most definitely and with Jon's discount
Nice. 😊

If you ever feel like you have one kayak too many, you can always donate it to me. LOL😂
Nice meeting you today John down below #1. How did the rest of your day go?
Andy
ended up going to the lower part of that river and caught a few more spots
Which river are you fishing? I live in east TN and watch your videos and would love to float some of these rivers.
This gets me so excited for spring up here in WI! What brand and weight of jig heads do you like to use?
Z man 1/10th oz finess ned jig head
for yum stuff the owner blockhead 1/16oz
You've been on the bigguns lately!
As an East TN guy, curious if you do day trips.
What river you on I fish clinch river in TN pretty often
Have youever fished New River in Virginia? Below Claytor Lake is very good. State record 8pdr. Was caught there.

Hey John do you know of any good smallmouth Rivers in North Carolina.
Man I had a day like this about a week ago but they’re full in spawn mode right now and they aren’t hitting anything! Can’t wait for them to start biting again
Do you ever eat anything you catch? I'm in the Pacific North West and eat smallies all the time.
🔥
Went fishing today.....got skunked
You should go with me, then we could both get skunked! Lol
@TennCutty well.... misery DOES love company! Lol 😆 we fished a " gar hole" today. It's a lot of work for a couple old guys to come up empty.
What river was that?
John you need a snack sponsor😊.
Which glide bait are you throwing?
s waver
Watch at 2:06 the eye color change
Man, what a great day of fishing! So now that you have had time in both, which kayak do you like the best?
