I’m gonna have to make a road trip over there eventually. We used to deer hunt eagle creek and Arnold hollow wma in Wayne county and stayed in waynesboro.
Id be really interested to see your kayak set up, any sort of modifications you've made to any of them and it would be helpful to hear why as well. As a new kayak angler I'm curious about that sort of thing. I'm constantly watching the way you paddle and position your kayak and that's been really helpful
Beautiful scenery! So nice to see the nature that God has created for us. Thank you so much for doing this. Between you and Kayak catfish, I get to go fishing and also see the beautiful state of Tennessee, that I love so much! I subscribed to your channel when Justin dumped his Kayak fishing with you, and I am definitely not disappointed! I try to watch all your videos! I love it. Keep the lines tight buddy!❤ And God bless with safe travels.
I know you usually don't tell where you're at. And when you do I appreciate it. It gives me ideas on where to catch those smallies. My favorite fish. Thanks again sir. I'm 63 and don't have many times left. Nice to be able to find a good place to go. I watch all your videos and have all your favorite baits. Big fan. Live in Cleveland and trying to upgrade to a peddle drive.
The melody in the beginning sounded a little like Amazing Grace at first, which is a perfect theme for this video! Especially coming from the last two vids/experiences. Abundant grace with the double!
8 mins in and each one these videos got better and better.. you went from flipping the yak, to trying to avoid muddy water. Now look at this beautiful place and good fishing day. God good aint it! Keep fishing and living for him💪🏾
YOU ARE VERY LUCKY TO DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY.WHEN YOU ARE ON THE WATER YOU HAVE A LOT OF FREEDOM.AND NOT WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING JUST CATCH FISH AND DO WHAT YOU DO BEST 🙏🙏 THANKS FOR THE VIDEOS AND LETTING US GO ON YOUR TRIPS🙏😊
I've been thinking about moving to Tennessee for a while now, and these videos seal the deal for me! Beautiful scenery and tons of smallies is the dream.
You really need an anchor on the back. I fish creeks and rivers with current. The anchor allows you to stop anywhere and fish spots that you usually float past. I love mine😊
Just paddled a short section of the buffalo for the first time a couple weeks ago, and it's amazing. Glad you got to go! Hope to go back for a longer trip sometime soon
Well I'm glad you got on some fish in Buffalo River. It's only about 35 to 40 mins from my house here in NW AL. That double up on the topwater was awesome. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series. 👊👍
Switch out the mono to braid line for your top water on buzz baits. You either need a rod with backbone to get the hook to penetrate or you need line that doesn’t stretch. When I fish top water baits that have treble hooks I back down on my hook set power when using braid.
That double was amazing! That just happened to me for the first time on Labor Day in a kayak, farm pond, no net, with a squarebill crankbait. I'm lovin this kayak trip you're on.
Good day today, lots of fish action.......success ! Wow, Bull-shad for the win ! Such a beautiful area to float and fish. It will be interesting to see what tomorrow will bring. GOD is good ! Always be careful. Pap Blevins.
Beautiful float. Can't pick a better spot to eat lunch! Do you think you'd have gotten so into kayak fishing if Old Town hadn't sent you that free kayak way back when? Love to see the evolution of the channel.
beautiful river, nice fish, great double. Thanks John for sharing. I was thinking where is your net, Oh DUH. at least the rapids were not Tipsy Tervy today, except maybe the start. Thanks John for sharing.
At 14:45 where that big rock is that’s going down in the water is where I caught a 4 1/2 pound small mouth, it’s just a few seconds where you videoed the turtle
How neat would it be to double up like that during one of the Kayak tournaments you fish! Awesome series man I hate that some of the spots didn’t pan out on account of weather and all but it’s all part of it just another reason to revisit it for another attempt in the future. Keep up the great work!
What a beautiful river John, and what an epic catch with the double up. Seems like you really had some great calm weather to play in as well. The more I watch of your content the more I envy what you do sir. Keep the great videos coming and I can't wait to see whats next. God Bless and GO KATS!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful scenery. You're definitely living the life. But, what's so great about it is that you made this life for yourself. Thanks for another great, inspiring video. Tight lines brother.
Looks like an amazing trip! Several quality fish, too! I haven't made it out to the Buffalo yet this year, but I have hit the Red a few times and the South Fork looks a lot like that. Gotta love the Tennessee bronze!
the double up was classic! almost the perfect small river/big creek - some solid fish, good lure selection - the only thing i would do different is fish more of the fast water - easy to say though - overall a great mess o smallies and the thing is you know there are some giants in these kind of places - try some deep diving craw cranks #bomber hellbender try the snake lures - they work and catch the big ones - think about getting some graphite blanks and building a rod or two over the fall/winter #fenwick --- do revisit this place - a gem
I live 30 minutes from there. I don’t start going till September because that area gets slammed by people. Caught so many 20” smallmouth out of there. Awesome river.
As always I enjoyed your show. Something I find odd is in watching all the fishing 1 vids. all the creators seem to forget nets. This time I understand you lost in when you turned over, but still it was thing you forgot at the tackle box. I have done it myself , After much thought I think I understand. If you forget a rod, reel, or bait you have to go back home and get it. I guess the net is the one thing you forget that you just say darn well I guess I can still make it without a net. Lol, yes I am older and think too much. Keep up the great content.
Think ya shoulda have stuck with that hellgermite longer in beginning stretch . Smallies love the old hellgermite 😂 I was wondering where net was and remembered u lost it . I bet that river full of nice catfish too. I bet some of them holes throwing cut bait you would pull out some hammers . That’s what I do with creek chubs and fall fish
I have two of those “baby bull shad” lures and I have yet to catch anything on them in our river. Maybe I’ll get lucky eventually. Beautiful river and some nice fish!
The Buffalo River looked amazing. It was certainly showing you some quality fish. Your attitude and approach is refreshing given the various challenges you had to overcome. Keep being that guy brother. Blessings John
I own property on the Buffalo River upstream from where you were. Love spending time on the river. Have floated from the beginning in Lawrence County all the way to the Duck River.
Beautiful place john. Great fishing! I know you've been doing this in beautiful place with You're Kayak, but that That's one rates pretty high I'm sure.
Trying to get a friend into kayak fishing, he is in Columbia, the Duck and Buffalo I believe are close to him, any suggestions? Next time in middle Ga, try the Oculmugee River, instead of the Flint, very good fishery also for Sholies.
ROOSTER TAIL, 24" TO 30" PUT LIKE 4 SMALL SPLIT SHOT. If the water is too warm for the fish, the speed that you are floating at combines with your retreat, potentially leaving behind 50% of the larger fish. I fished a super sweet spot on a local river 5-6 times a year for 3 years and never got a bite. It was a 6' deep, moving medium current on a tuen with a shallow gavel on the wide side and a stepped rock shelf on the tight side with water grasses for structure in a mostly shaded spot. A conservation agent had checked my license a few times, but this time he did not want to see my papers; instead, he offered the splitshot tip. From that day on, I pulled 25%-40% more fish and a wider variety of species. In moving water, you have to get it down to the fish weighting at the edge of the slach water, where food naturally is carved right in front of them like a drive-through window. Young bass are extremely aggressive because all the other fish can eat the food they are restricted to and compete for it by size as they become the main predators. They post up like the cool kids at the back of the school bus, but these spots produce the most calories with the least amount of effort spent to catch them. Tube and creature baits that are weighted work well, but a lot of the time the fish are specific to color. Rooster tails are like crack to bass if you give them no good reason to let a free meal pass by, with the exception of females on beds. Play to their lazy side, and you will catch more fish in the swift parts of the river. Don't forget the splitshot. Get your baits down quicker so preasentation is maximized vs. current and speed of return... with note to your approach and exit angles if you are in a boat, some presentations are only a 2' square box 13-15" off a rock or bank and the cast has to be perfect. Thats why we have those dang fly rods ... Also, bass are susceptible to birds of prey, so out of instinct, they are not going to want to expose the blind side or spine to the sky shallow enough for a dive bomb from a halk or egael. not when they can chill just out of the current and vacuum small prey out of the current from an easy ambush, putting your bait there more consistently and for longer with the weight high up on the line. Sorry, I get excited about creeks and small rivers. Wait till you reel back a channel cat on a rooster's tail.
You need to schedule this exact trip right around Memorial Day of next year! Weekday of course. In th shoal areas you can pretty much reach in and pick them up. Stay overnight then do the 10min en the next day. It gets kind of stupid.
Happened once to me 35 years ago! Two largemouth on a number 7 Rapala countdown, gold color, 9 or 10 inchers, but was a surprising sight! Really felt weird with two fish trying to swim different directions!!
you make me proud :). Thanks for giving us a shot coach :).
That two-fer (The Double) just made my day! That HAS to be the first time, I ever saw that from you. That was amazing!
I’m gonna have to make a road trip over there eventually. We used to deer hunt eagle creek and Arnold hollow wma in Wayne county and stayed in waynesboro.
This is 15 mins from me! So excited to see you fish it!

Good looking smallmouth bass there Jon!!!! Awesome trip!!

@ 10:30 one the most relaxing things I've ever seen , is to sit in the river with a chair like that, didn't know those existed , thank you !
Loving the videos!!! That double whammy tho!!! What a story!!!!
Beautiful scenery 👌 I'm still trying to catch any fish here in south Texas 🙉
The melody in the beginning sounded a little like Amazing Grace at first, which is a perfect theme for this video!
Especially coming from the last two vids/experiences.

Well I'm glad you got on some fish in Buffalo River. It's only about 35 to 40 mins from my house here in NW AL. That double up on the topwater was awesome. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series. 👊👍
John That Bull shad lure you are using at 8:11, I found one tangled in old line in my creek thanks for the retrieve tutorial, will give Her a shot!
Ha! I was waiting for this and saw it upload! Great vid
I tell the water looked really good & peaceful, it's therapeutic to watch, enjoyed it bud!👍🎣
Well done 👏. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and have a Blessed Day!!!
Thanks again, John! I'm loving following this series...FishOn....jimi
Day 4 looks like the best day so far good luck on finding a day 5.
Love this series! I’ve never thrown the real bull shad, but love the baby bull shad for smallies!
What a cool looking place. These few days have been incredible
Great work John, really enjoyed and appreciated your work!

Agreed. Too soft of a Rod, plus that old stretchy monofilament has definitely cost plenty of fishermen some great fish!!!
What a blessing of a day on the river. Keep enjoying your journey ☺️
That double was amazing! That just happened to me for the first time on Labor Day in a kayak, farm pond, no net, with a squarebill crankbait. I'm lovin this kayak trip you're on.
Enjoyed watching, thanks for taking us along! I fish with Zoom Tiny Brush Hogs here in middle Tennessee a lot for rock bass.
I am sooooo glad you did the 8mile!!! Next time you need to try the Lobeville area of this. Little bit crazier water, but killer fishing!
Those were nice smallies. God bless you and your family and friends...🙏❤🙏❤🙏
Great scenery looks like great time
Beautiful place you stopped for lunch. What a life!
ABSOLUTELY killin' it, John! Great videos. Next time, just stick your feet out both sides and haul him in the boat.
Wow John that double catch was so awesome 👍 I bet that was a fun fight!!
Good day today, lots of fish action.......success ! Wow, Bull-shad for the win ! Such a beautiful area to float and fish. It will be interesting to see what tomorrow will bring. GOD is good ! Always be careful. Pap Blevins.
Beautiful river, beautiful weather and a great day of fishing.
These are the kind of videos that made me want a kayak. What a great float. Can't wait to get a day when I can get back out on the water again.
I'm really enjoying this series. Thanks for bringing us along.
Beautiful float. Can't pick a better spot to eat lunch! Do you think you'd have gotten so into kayak fishing if Old Town hadn't sent you that free kayak way back when? Love to see the evolution of the channel.
Beautiful scenery
the bull shad never works for me 🤣 i have 3! glad you could get some. slamming through Tennessee!
Great double up on the smallies.. That place is absolutely beautiful. Glad you have had a better trip.
Excellent spot to stop and have lunch. That's beautiful
beautiful river, nice fish, great double. Thanks John for sharing. I was thinking where is your net, Oh DUH. at least the rapids were not Tipsy Tervy today, except maybe the start. Thanks John for sharing.
The BullShad and river bass go hand in hand. It’s my favorite bait for big shoal bass or big river spots.
Always love your videos. I love the scenery, the fishing and honesty. Thanks, you are a blessing!
Pretty neat catching 2bass at one time.👍👍👍
Glad you pushed thru the challenging start these videos have been fantastic John great work thanks for bringing us along!
The Buffalo!!!! Used to float that river at summer camp. Great place!!! Catch um up
And that is a good day! Not surprised it was day 3!!!!
I love you laid back fun fishing adventures! 😊

Really nice John. No mishaps, awesome fishing and beautiful scenery even without the drone. Thank you for sharing.
Dining on nature's front porch, classic....
I live 30 minutes from there. I don’t start going till September because that area gets slammed by people. Caught so many 20” smallmouth out of there. Awesome river.
that really makes me want to go back
@@CreekFishingAdventures holler if you do. I got some spots.
Looked like a fun trip!
Sometimes the best part is getting rewarded by changing things up🤙
Nice float, awesome double up!

need make out of wood and use boat dock bumpers make you some out riggers for kayak’s that way in rough water you won’t dump yourself in the drink.
Totally awesome video, I'm glad I tuned in.
😎🎣🎥👍
I have two of those “baby bull shad” lures and I have yet to catch anything on them in our river. Maybe I’ll get lucky eventually. Beautiful river and some nice fish!
Truly blessed brother
Great video same really good fish thank you John stay safe and keep the video coming
What did you catch the tree trout on? Just kidding.
I find stick baits work best for tree trout. So well, I caught a limit and was asked to leave.
I always catch a few tree trout.. lol!
That’s a timber trout!
The Buffalo River looked amazing. It was certainly showing you some quality fish. Your attitude and approach is refreshing given the various challenges you had to overcome. Keep being that guy brother. Blessings John
15:10 ......Best money you spent for that lure...lol...good job
I own property on the Buffalo River upstream from where you were. Love spending time on the river. Have floated from the beginning in Lawrence County all the way to the Duck River.
Man you wore them out awesome river ended with the rockbass 👍
Beautiful place john. Great fishing! I know you've been doing this in beautiful place with You're Kayak, but that That's one rates pretty high I'm sure.
I need to fish this area,. Thanks for sharing!
Your living the dream my friend good for you! I'm jealous
You should fish in Arkansas again
So the whopper plopped or choppo have been my best lure. But I have caught 2 at the same time yet that was awesome
Another awesome video well done
Nice video. Thanks for sharing

Great video....If you haven't fished the Obey below Dale Hollow. it would be well worth it.
beautiful!!
I grew up right here !

Absolutely insane, 2 fish on 1 lure on the same cast. Don't think I have ever seen that. I know it's never happened to me
