I thought Spain's "Don Quixote" was the oldest sitcom (the chapters could easily become TV episodes), but it's only 500 years old.

I think Kojiki was Japan’s first light novel. It’s subject is purely fantasy.

Well done, Meshida!👍😅The "rock" Izanagi used to seal the mouth of Yomi (花の窟神社), to escape his aging wife Izanami (just like today's salarymen avoid going home), is actually the size of Mitsukoshi in Ginza! The grass-cutting sword Kusanagi is well-referenced by Japanese heavy metal band Onmyoza in their song 青天の三日月

Izanagi's skills are losing to Izanami. Maybe he should cut back on all those sugar babies so that he can birth more people faster than Izanami can kill them.

    Wait a minute Meshida-San.
You mean to tell me that all I learnt from Naruto was just a lie?
    I always thought that.....
    Izanagi - Destiny Changer
    Izanami - Destiny Decider
    Amaterasu - Black Fire
    Susanoo - Guardian Warrior
    Tsukuyomi - Illusion World
And that all these could only be achieved by an Uchiha that possesses the Mangekyou Sharingan by killing his best friend.
Where do I start from now, Meshida-San? Where? 😭😭

Great video, a hilarious take on the tale of the Kojiki. I know of another book called the Nihongi that said Izanami no mikoto-sama was actually the mother of Amaterasu omikami-sama, Tsuku-yomi-no-mikoto-sama , Susanoo-no-mikoto-sama and other Kami-sama. So Susanoo was right to seek out his mother. In which later he was appointed as a judge of the underworld by her. Mother knows best. Lol all kidding aside I think this was just an age old part of the story that never found its way in the kojiki but found its way in the Nihongi because it was passed on by word of mouth. Great video ❤

Great telling of this ancient legend. Western culture has the same story of the Ugly and Beautiful sisters. They are Venus de Milo and the Medusa, she who had snakes for hair. One person with two appearances. Not really a person but an object. I will now blow your mind: Izanagi represented the Masculine planet MARS, and Izanami represented the beautiful Feminine Comet Venus. When they were close to the Earth. Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. I will explain all with I come to Japan. Sayonara.

Parallels, not perpendiculars. 😶 Eurasia is a VERY big continent. At either end there is an archipeligo. One is the Japanese islands, the other is the British Isles. Both are ruled by royal families of ancient pedigree (neither of which has any actual ruling power any more). The Japanese emperors claim their first ancestor - Jimmu Tenno - was descended from the goddess Amaterasu. The English claim their first ancestor (in Britain, anyway) - Cyrdic the Saxon, of Wessex - was descended from the god Wotan. What does this mean?🤔(Probably absolutely nothing. 🤫😉) What does Meshida think? 🤨 I'm sure I don't know, but maybe he'll tell us… 🤯😶‍🌫

The Kojiki and Nihon Shoki (2nd oldest) are not trusted sources for Japanese history as many details were altered. Eg The existence of Queen Himiko was erased even though her accounts were clearly recorded in China's Book of Wei and Korea's Silla records. This is because the writers probably didn't want to acknowledge a female ruler in Japan. Many other omissions were made that deliberately removed the many influences of Chinese civilization on Japan.

Very interesting video! It must've taken a lot of time and effort to produce the art work. Otsukare! But the Jews didn't really influence the Kojiki. It's just that everyone has common incestuous and polygamous ancestry going back to Africa. The Jews worship the incestuous serpent god Yah and his mother Hawah, together called "Yahweh", the brass caduceus that Moses made for the Hebrews and commanded them to worship, which was all about money and power (the $ symbol is based on the Yahweh caduceus). But kami-sama destroyed the 8-headed serpent, which the early Christians associated with Jesus (888), the human avatar of Yah, son of Allah (John 3:14). Brave effort that the Japanese continued throughout their succeeding generations. Read more from the 3rd edition of Rodney St. Michael's Sync My World.
