I've always liked the stories of myths about gods and goddesses around the world. It's so fascinating to learn that our world was created by these beings with human like personalities. Imagine all that drama just to explain the origins of a place or an event, like how winter started: Amaterasu got depressed and locked herself in a cave, taking all the warmth and the light in the world with her. Fortunately, she had god friends to cheer her up and helped her realize how valuable she really is. And all that took her was to see her own reflection through a mirror. I wished Amaterasu tried to understand his brother Tsukuyomi first. He just acted out of reflex upon seeing something so nasty. But then, if she had not banished him, there wouldn't be a beautiful moon in the evening sky and there wouldn't be different kinds of vegetables growing from the earth. 😅 Also, I wonder who are the descendants of Susanoo in modern Japan.

His father Izanagi, in his grief, beheaded Kagu-tsuchi with his sword, Ame no Ohabari, and cut his body into eight pieces, which became eight volcanoes. The crazy thing is, if this rule was indeed followed throughout the whole of Japanese civilization, then that means the same family has been "ruling" Japan for at least a thousand years.
this was so beautiful, entertaining and informative! if you watch anime, you already know almost half of this stuff😆
if only schools were like this...
I am literally in love with Japanese mythology!
When I was like 6 years old I remember our whole village hitting the drum as loud as they can during solar eclipse. And I live in Malaysia not Japan..I gotta dig my own myth here , thanks for the video
And that's why I tell people there is a lot to learn from Naruto
You got the wrong and right idea at the same time
There is litteraly nothing to learn from naruto🤣🤣🤣
Now your not right but your not wrong
@@sergioheredia1946 Says the nine year old kid who haven't watch naruto 😂
@@shinso5328 bro you right but also wrong since you can't learn mythical creatures where Naruto got inspired as all of them are only name inspiration
Pretty sure Izanami told Izanagi not to look at her until she talked to the rulers of Yomi to allow her to go back but Izanagi was impatient and looked anyway which insigated Izanami's wrath.
Tsukoyomi never came back after his fight with Amaterasu that’s crazy like did he really have nothing left to contribute to the story
Well, Tsukoyoimi never had jealousy like Susanoo. He was happy with his role.
The beauty of the comics almost made me cry
I actually knew half of this thanks to the game Nioh. It’s an rpg based on the clan wars and ancient war of yokai. Izanagi and tsukyomi and other gods were brought up a lot
THIS is a good comment. Instead of saying "Oh naruto makes sense now" (cause it doesn't) come with something that actually fits myth!
That's it I'm convinced there has to be a Loki in every mythology Pantheon out there in the world. LOL
Yeap, those are the trickster gods.
Every culture/religion has a trickster or troublemaker entity.
One that embodies mischief
Like Norse got Loki
Some African cultures and Caribbean cultures have Anansi or Anansy
Christianity even has the devil to fill that role.
It's not always a God or a demon
But there is always an entity that causes problems or troubles.
@@leightonsalmon765 in greek mythology they have Hermes and meybe in egyptian myths that role can be filled by Seth.
His variants lol
@@leightonsalmon765 in hinduism there is a deity called Nāradā Muni who caused a loT of trouble for the gods and the demons alike.
I love how those gods are depicted correctly as figures Japanese imagine, in this video.
I will admit, my whole life ambition revolves around Japanese mythology with a side of history. I'm working on both animations and a few game series heavily based around it. I am so dedicated to make it the fullest experience for me and the participants that I am saving up to learn the language and visit Japan in these specific areas. I don't care about money or anything shallow like that. This is something I genuinely love and I want to share it
M 10000% sure u just played the ghost of tsushima
Where will we be able to find your games? I wanna support you on this!
@@Waterfalls131 I'm pretty sure that it will never get released. Just as most of the passion projects on the internet.
9:20 Susano really made a mess pooping all around in Amaterasu's palace
Pretty sure those are dog or other animal dudus
Don’t get me wrong I love Naruto, and how they sort of incorporate these characters as powers into the story , but I actually first learned of this mythology from the game Smite, Susano is my favorite character and I love all of lore and other characters as well. The only one of the gods not in smite is Izinagi so far, where my smite fans at?! Still love Naruto tho 👀
Smite also taught me some mythology to,
I was looking for these comment! I also learnt a lot of mythology with Smite. This video was even more interesting to understand the story between the Gods but also the weapons and the spells they use in the game
I started discovering mythology from Fate
Idc
5:11 the goddes of food... Is so unexpected...
Alternate title "The Story of the Uchihas and Their OP AF Jutsus"
@Asupan MEM3 nah its true
Yeah.
Cringe
12:13 she said “dayum who’s that fine girl- oh wait…it’s just me 🤭”
susanoo: *brutally having his nails pulled out*
the music: 🕺💃
7:50 is it just me, or does Amaterasu look pretty in this shot?
I think she's pretty.
This is great background info for the Persona/SMT games.
Susano’o is cooler than I would have thought
tThis was Great to hear the Full Story of Japan Mythology/ Hope you do More?
Japanese mythology is amazing 👏 😍
I love how this plays out like an Anime! I can clearly see now where Manga artists and writers get their inspiration from! =D
Thanks so much, I love this masterpiece!!!
Yamaha No Orochi was actually a snake with 8 heads and 8 tails- not a dragon, it is kind of important to differentiate because of the context and symbolism surrounding stories with dragons and snakes and even centipedes are very different.
@@mr.hazamayukiterumi Hydras don't really exist in a Japanese context but serpent could still be used to describe it imo
Japan is such an interesting case study for a culture
Indeed and they are one of my favorite study cases regarding history. Some of my other favorites are India and the arab world.
Thanks naruto for all the confusion that i received after learning the actual lore behind all those names
I would love to watch an anime about the takes of susanoo working to better himself
This is awesome! 😱 Thank you!
The reference to mythology used in naruto like susano fought eight headed dragon/snake...simply amazing.. 👌👌
Yes we’re gonna be doing a full story of this let’s go 😄
watched this unwaveringly; absolutely beautiful.
Amatersu was name after the sun goddess, tsukiyomi was name after the lunar god, sussano was name after the storm god.
Take hindu , Greek , Japanese or any mythology , these are so awesome , even if they are myths, just imagine the writer of these stories come up with unique and crazy idea's thousands of years ago ,amazing
Hindu isn't just mythology. Dmt is produced before birth and just after death. Things like these are already mentioned in the hindu book of death, rebirth and afterlife the garuda purana. 84 lakh yonis. All the planets as graha even before the planets were discovered. Talking about parallel universes before any other culture adapted this concept and many more things.
@@SS-bw6cn So, just mythology.
There are multiversal wars described in ancient hindu texts like skandha purana.
So Japanese mythology is basically a masterpiece anime itself
Okay starting to somewhat understand the multiple references Ive seen in manga. Yamato no Orochi....is definitely the basis for Orochi, the current villian of One Piece's Wa no Kuni arc
So Was Kishimoto trying to represent Itachi as a God coz he gives Amaterasu, izanagi, izanami, Tskuyomi and he also fought Orichimaru's eight head snake form with Susaano🤔
Orochimaru having the sword was an easter egg.
No
That's what I was thinking!
Izanami and izanagi are uchiha jutsu.Sasuke also has susanoo and amaterasu.Sasuke also posseses the kusunagi sword which he got from orochimaru.
The amaterasu wasn't his own it was Itachi who gives him
Big fan of Moonlit Fantasy, and seeing Tsukuyomi was a treat.
I never thought that Japan would have cool mythology stories 😲😲
Something more interesting? There is no scripture like the bible. These stories were told, not written.
10:03 I love how this is depicting a solar eclipse in such a beautiful way.
Btw only clicked on it bc of Naruto.
actually it depicted winter...
