Yes that is true, but with a laser you can do so much more than what you can do with a vinyl cutter. This is just an additional application for the laser.
You say it is a permanent bond - but then you peel it right off with ease? Is there a missing step to make sure the foil is really bonded to the surface?
Hi there, that's a good point, when the laser etches the kiss-cut it bonds the inner foil onto the surface where the outer layer can be peeled easily. We hope that helps.
If only you could use this for electronic circuit PCB boards. Maybe if you used conductive glue instead of solder. Tape layers would allow for multi layer circuits. If the foil was multi layers deep, higher current could be utilized. If you made an antenna array out of nickel foil, you could make a passive radar chaff reflectors.
Great! What are the setting you are using for foil engraving. Gold And Silver foil has different size of thickness, and in 360 machine what do you choose in job control.
I hope that foil is cheap, it seems you waste a lot doing text etc. Other than that it looks like a good product for adding extra value and detail to projects.
Looks great, but with no details, this is just an ad. Laser power, settings, ect. Nothing helpful here. You tell people to ask questions, but you don't answer the questions.
what setting are you using Paper ? what substrate am I setting it up in I am doing it on a glass but glass will not cut so what do we use ??????? This is important info you completely missed
Carol Wierzbicki hi Carol lets dial back the aggressiveness. The settings are in the video description. As you can see by the video we never do a full-cut on the foil, its always a kiss cut. Also, you should not cut glass with a laser, it can shard and crack. As in the video we have used the foil with wood, plastic and acrylic - place the foil on an object, do a kiss-cut, then peel off the extra foil that you are not using.
So dumb. Went to the website to check out your products. Can't see prices unless you create an account. Can't create an account unless you live in Canada. Moving on.
Hello Joseph, sorry about the confusion. I have included a link below to our website and it will give you the option to choose where you are from. www.trotec-materials.com/
@@TrotecLaserCanada Tried again on the US version of the website. Looking for laser foil like in your video. Doesn't look like you sell it on the US site.
Yes when you use PVC. As mentioned in the video, this material is ***NOT*** PVC-based, none of our Trotec materials are PVC based. This material *IS* laser-safe. Thanks
Can this be used with other laser machines?
Can you ship to the U.K.? Trotec U.K. don’t seem to stock this!
I am a bit new to laser etching , can you use this technique on etching lettering on silicone materiels , like silicone watch bands ?
Please tell me what settings you are using
Can this be used in any laser machine
Super idea bro
Will the foil be fine on cardboard boxes. Specifically the outside of magnetic gift boxes
So this is essentially like a vinyl right? There is nothing but the tackyness of the glue holding it down?
Yep exactly, it's extremely thin the feel is like your regular tin foil but has a sticky glue to hold it down.
Hi! Thanks for the demo! Just curious, when we say kiss cutting, this is just setting to low power and faster speed?
I like your edit
Thanks! ;)
Interesting in learning more, but why do I have to create an account just to check prices?
No se me hace una alternativa, teniendo en cuenta que esto lo puedes lograr con un plotter de corte y vinyl oro espejo

Hi, the laserable foil have the adhesive include? or you used another thing to stick in the acrylic? thanks!
Wow! something to try on Monday. What are the settings require for these foils?
Thanks! Well do a kiss cut, we did 15 power, 2 speed on a Speedy 360 80w laser.

You can make PCB boards with our Fiber Laser: ua-cam.com/video/xhPJhiM-PzY/v-deo.html
Hi! Is it can works with the GlowForge?
Hi Silvan, we're not sure and unfortunately cannot comment on another laser's capabilities.
Do you have any in ferrous material? I want to make custom magnet shapes using a thin foil.
avete un rivenditore di questo foil in italia grazie
What paper is it? Can it be used with any laser machine, Glowforge or LaserPecker?
Is it possible to have the dieline file?
Hi Mylene, please email us at youtube@troteclaser.ca for artwork.
should u press the foil down onto the substrate so no bubbles?
Yep we would suggest a roller or a squeegee
Hello i have a question please, laser foil can be used with fiber laser machine or just with CO2 machine? Thank you.
kacso cosmin Hi there, just CO2
love this!
Thanks Diane!
The end results of this method do not have a very precise edge finish in the video compared to die cut or plotter machine cut transfers
Will this this work with one of those cheap mini table top wood laser engraver's.
Hi Joe, we've never tried but in theory yes.
What power of laser can I use this process?
Hi Rick, you don't need a lot of power to cut foil - even 30watts would do.
COOL!!!
Thanks Isaiah!
Is this available on your website?
is it available in the UK? Trotec UK doesn't seem to stock it.
Hi Josh, if Trotec UK says they don't stock it then unfortunately there is no option to ship from Canada.
Wow! Very interesting! Will you foil rolls work with any laser (in particular, a Thunder Laser)? Thanks!
Hi John, yes this foil should work with any CO2 laser, but we can't speak on any other specific brands.
Ok, great! Thank you for the feedback! I'm looking forward to trying out the foil very soon!
John Kraemer thanks John we hope you like it!
Which materials use for comb
TroGlass Black Satin Acrylic and the Trotec Gold Foil Roll, you can see where we got it in the description of the video.
Great! What are the setting you are using for foil engraving. Gold And Silver foil has different size of thickness, and in 360 machine what do you choose in job control.
Thanks! Material setting are in the description. The thicknesses should be the same size
Can you add a link for folks purchasing in the US? I tried to purchase but it will only allow a Canadian address.
Hi Liz, this product might not be available in the US. We suggest to call your local Trotec office and double check
Hi, is the foil removable if I'd like to do another design?
The background is removable but anything that's lasered will show on the inner foil design.
@@TrotecLaserCanada ok gotcha. Will this ever be available for US customers?
@@monkeymaster6489 The foil itself? Not sure to be honest you would have to check with Trotec USA for it.

interior use only or exterior as well?
Hi Phil exterior use as well
Sar laser cutting machine kahan milegi please answer
Hello Khan, what was your question?
Would this work using a 50w blue laser?
John Bloor hi John we dont know, we can only speak to our CO2 and Fiber lasers.
If you mean a Blue and White Chinese laser, then see the answer above to John Kraemer's question.
I hope that foil is cheap, it seems you waste a lot doing text etc. Other than that it looks like a good product for adding extra value and detail to projects.
Are the laminates and foils from Trotec recyclable?
Throwing away that amount of scrap foil isn't good at all for the environment.
Price for whole sale please.and what size of laser lens your using.
