My wife and I have had a friend over a few times. The first time she came over she asked us if she wanted her to take off her sandals once she got in the door. We both gave her the choice but in all honesty wanted her to because we just cleaned the floors. When given the choice, she took her sandals off and went barefoot and has done the same thing each visit. It still stands out in my mind, but in a good way. I think it was very polite and humble on her part.

VERY polite on her part, absolutely! I have a sign at the front door to make it known. 🤣

I always take off my shoes when I enter someone's house. It's really not a compliment to leave dirt on their floor or carpet.

Swedes are the same! My husband is obsessed with Sweden so we always take shoes off in our house too. 😂 Great video!!

I just read that A LOT of countries actually do it! Except U.S., France, Canada...I think there more, just can't remember. It's also tough when we have DOGS that shed all over the place. I find myself wiping their paws before the enter into the house. 🤣 My husband, not so much...he thinks I'm cray.

My best friend in grade school was from Taiwan. I am basically always barefoot at home. It was no problem for me to adapt. I have house sandals if I need a slipper.

OMMMG, I hate when that happens. I can honestly say that I wipe my dogs paws after they've been outside. But my SO doesn't do it...too much work. Understandable, but I gotta clean the floors again. lawwwwd.

For my job I go to a lot of different cultures home. I have no problem taking off my shoes. They usually give me slippers, which I don't mind, but their feet are so small. How come I can't just wear my socks?

Do you wash your shoes after each use? If not where do you keep them? Outside?

My pediatrist says that I need to wear a 1 to 2 inch heel, special support shoe, and for me not to go without shoes. How do so handle that? Buy an extra pair of these special shoes that I bring to someone’s home to only wear indoors?
I’ve also brought wipes to clean the bottoms of my shoes, before entering. What are your thoughts?

    You're Asian?
The name is totally fresh and English.
You are mixed, so that would explain the look.
I know many people who chose one side, when around certain people, then the other side around others.
    It is disingenuous
