Should you leave your shoes by the door? It's an age-old question. For some, the choice is cultural. For others, it's a matter of cleanliness. But while, of course, we know that our shoes encounter things outside, how much do they really bring back in with them, and how much does that really matter? Are they making us sick, or could that be to our benefit?
Scientist @MarenHunsberger helps us with an experiment to see how much bacteria and fungi are really lurking on the soles of our shoes.

What about pet owners who let their pets roll around on the sofa and in their beds with them! We know what "The Dirty Truth" of that would be ... disgusting!
FINALLY someone else thinks the same 😄 everytime and I mean EVERYTIME after a walk everyday w my dogs I wash both my maltese 4 paws w soap and warm water yep everytime absolutely disgusting that people let their dogs walk on their sofa and bed w those outdoor paws 🤮
It’s so gross!!!! We have an enclosed back porch for our dogs and cat. It’s huge. I’ll never own a house that doesn’t have this. We spend plenty of time with them and it’s air conditioned and heated for our babies. Since moving here our lives have transformed. I’m sorry but it’s absolutely disgusting to let cats and dogs roam your home bc they step in their pee and poo and track it all in your home. The smell of their skin (no matter how clean) gets all in your home. Everything that comes with it is just gross. I love them, believe me, but it’s just not sanitary

So this is why we, Scandinavia, take our shoes of and also coat or jackets when you enter our home. The dog always have there paws cleaned before allowed inside. TV show renovating homes from the US never have coat or shoeracks at the entrance. I dont understand why even if you wear shoes inside what about coats, jackets, glows and scarfs.
So do Indians and most Asians. Having lived in the UK - they are the most unhygienic, they walk all over the house with their shoes even the bedroom. When I see people with their shoes on in the bed, and walking in the kitchen, it makes me cringe. US is a little better but not much. They do have coat closets by the front door and most don't wear shoes in the house, but where pets are concerned it's another story. Makes me cringe when the pets get in bed with people. 🤧😖
There should not be any argument itself it is always shoes off..
