I operate a mobile detail unit here on the east coast in GA. I called Sammy and left a message and he called me back within 10 mins and really helped me with my needs. Great guy and willing to share his secrets to success in the business! I will definitely be using his products as I move forward into offering metal polishing services to my detailing portfolio. Thanks you Sammy.

Only to a certain extent he will give you light understanding but you have to figure what works for you I found speed sanding does way better than dual action saning it looks like a polished jewel but da does okay but doesn't take it to that level remember if you cut out with speed sanding you have to smooth and go slow with speed sanding so you keep your rotary marks tight that way when you cut it out it cut out easy

Just a couple things you can look out for when moving on to different finishing stages of your work make sure you're using a rake frequently so you don't cross contaminate the compounding and you're finishing stages as you go on to your cutting and your coloring and you're finishing stages and ultimately you super finishing stages generally we finish with a conventional wheel . I hope this helps

Well, one thing I am always interested in seeing, and still struggle with, is polishing large flat areas of stainless steel. Whether its SS toolboxes, or fenders, I can get a really nice finish to the naked eye, but inevitably when you shine light on them from different angles you can see light marks in the finish. I purchased a cyclo polisher and want to try finishing it with that, but I haven't had the opportunity yet. Just figured I'd ask and see what you thought, Thanks

    • @sammy3627
      @sammy3627  8 років тому

Hay bro I don't know your name? but hay I will put it on the list to make a video on how to do the finishing on stainless steel wide and flat parts, but I do know what you mean because that is a challenge . if your using a yellow or white airway wheel with a green bar, your getting a lot of cut lines. so before you can use a cyclo you will have to bring the cut lines down a bit, I would go with a 8 inch conventional wheel and blue moon then no scratch pink while using a variable speed buffer. then I would use some west coast metal polish with a da polisher and finally a cycle. there is now easy what hope that helps a little.

Hey, sorry for not introducing myself. My name is Chris, and I'm on the opposite coast in New Jersey. It's starting to warm up out here, so I'm looking forward to trying your method on a flat panel of stainless. I've used blue moon before, but lately I've been using a few products from matchless, and I like their blueish/purplish bar. I never heard of no scratch pink, so I am looking forward to seeing what it'll do. One question; when using a da, are you referring to using a microfiber cutting pad, a wool pad, or just a foam polishing pad? Thanks again for your help. I'll be getting a hold of you guys to try out some of your polish once all the road salt is gone.

    • @sammy3627

+2006pete379 Chris hello and thank for the reply, hay when I mention a DA (dual action) I'm referring to our process and the way we use the DA machine to do metal finishing , I'll make a video on it , I think you'll be surprised.

What a great video! It was definitely worth the time! I have few questions (I have 100 sqm of brass to polish):
1- Do these compounds and brushes work on brass?
2- How much thickness u think both cutting and polishing will take off? My brass is 1.2 mm thickness
3- What amount of pressure u apply during cutting/polishing? Or u just lay it on the surface and u move it?
4- I’m based in Sydney. How much time you reckon it takes to receive the order?
Lot of questions I know lololol SORRY:)

They aren't even close to what you're working with in this vid, but do you still recommend an acid bath? I have wheel brightener... it's a hydroflouric/sulfuric mixture. is a very helpful video. thanks for sharing. God bless you. when do you use black magic.

    • @sammy3627

+Humaran Eduardo Hello and thank you for your kind words, Black magic is a super finishing compound so depending on what your previous processes were , I normally use the black magic after I use the green compound, but if you have a good cut and color with the brown and your metal is in good shape you could go directly to the Black Magic, but you would have to experiment. I hope this helps , just a quick reminder if your using the black magic and your getting a lot of back on your work area you might have to back track and use a more aggressive finishing compound. ok good luck on your project

Nice work Sammy... Really informative video.
Always great to see other polishers at work and see their techniques.
The consumables you guys use in the states aren't readily available over here in the UK so we gotta use slighty diff techniques/compounds etc to get a result.
Just out of interest.... do you ever cross cut on the finishing stages? If not why?
    Keep on keepin on guys!

+Moorshine Metal Polishing Thanks for taking the time to drop a few lines, to your question, no we do not cross cut in the finishing procedures. when we do heavy cutting and cross cutting we are not overly concerned with complete uniformity, but after that we want to start keeping the metal work finishes in uniformity. I hope that makes sense. Again thanks for your comments be Blessed

Hi, good video! One of the guys in the video polishing is wearing some kind of face wrap/cover. What is he wearing exactly? I would like to cover more of my skin when I'm polishing and that looks like it would keep a person pretty clean.
