- As I was making my way home, this property caught my eye as I noticed the overgrown grass and rubbish all out in the front. I stopped and went and knocked on the door and asked if I can help mow their lawn free of charge. She was SHOCKED and very grateful that I offered to help her and her family with their lawn. As we continued on with our conversation she mentioned that their finances are really tight with everything going up in price right now. I also noticed that she was wearing a head flash light around her neck when she came out and out of curiosity I kindly asked her what the flashlight was for and she said that she carries them around the house to help save on electricity. This made me want to help her and her family by doing this even more and I am soo happy I did as she was extremely happy with her yard!

Awesome effort mate. Can understand how these people may be struggling to make ends meet, but really there's no excuse for leaving broken bottles, and glass all around the yard. Doesn't cost anything to pick it up. Anyways good job. Maybe they will turn over a new leaf.

There is no excuse for the condition of that back patio. Those containers had been out there long enough to dry rot! Still, you kept going & did a great job. I like helping people but they also need to help themselves.

I am going to make a comment that may offend a few people, all people need help every once in awhile and this lady is obviously having financial problems. But, I also remember when I was young enough to know what was going on that we were very poor people. My Mom made all of our cloths from feed sacks (we lived on a farm) that used to be made from really nice cotton in a lot of patterns. The one thing I can tell you about my Mom was our place all around the house was neat and clean, that means that trash was nowhere to be seen. We had to burn our trash in a pit since we lived so far from a town, all our outside walks made of concrete were swept daily unless it was raining or snow on the ground. WE had a neighbor with a truck and once a month he would come help my Dad haul off those things we could not burn. Anyone who allows garbage to accumulate is either suffering from depression or lazy. Even when we moved to the city our house and walks were as spotless as you could get when you have a bunch of kids, if we left anything in the yard we had to pick it up before we took a bath and put it where it was supposed to be. We were also forbidden to throw anything on the side of roads or neighbors yards. Its called manners and courtesy to others. You did a good thing Steve and I hope this will help the household clean up around the grounds even if they can't cut the lawn.
