  • I got a call from a family that was in need of a lawn makeover. They said they were struggling with making ends meet, and in between growing a new business and raising kids, there seemed to never be any time for lawn care around the property. I told them that I would come out and help them by providing them with a free lawn makeover. They were truly surprised to hear that and blessed that anyone would take time out of their day and help them out.
This is what I do and what I have a passion for doing, helping those that are in serious need of lawn care services. I enjoy every minute of it and am truly blessed to be able to be a benefit to the community. If you have the chance to help someone out, do it. God will bless you twofold. Have a great day my friend!

I’d be embarrassed to let someone come over to help me and leave all that for you to contend with. To me, they seem like the type of people who’d call you out for moving something or mistakenly trimming a flower. This yard is going to be like this again in a couple of months. I hope they appreciated it. I’ve tried helping people and it’s always those who don’t (refuse to) help themselves and just expect it. I guess I don’t know the whole story and shouldn’t assume. By the comments, I’d say many of us are thinking the same thing.

Just as read other comments. 3 cars, bicycles, UTVs and so on carelessly in the yard, just like other stuff. Not even cleaned up knowing you were coming. Makes me think their lifestyle and mindset is the problem. These people indeed need help, cleaning up the garden is only a symptom control.

However, one time I got there and the back yard was covered in toys and plastic eggs and all kinds of crap. I skipped them. I called them that night and told them why I did that. The husband was sorry and promised the yard would be clean the next day(it was). I didn't show up out of the blue, they required a "call ahead" for service. I talked to the husband the night before and the yard was STILL covered in crap. I hated going there plus, I didn't want people to know my company did their lawn because it always looked like crap.

I’ve seen a lot of videos lately where “the homeowner reached out”. I’m becoming quite cynical when that happens. I agree sometimes you get snookered; and that takes away from the ones that REALLY need help. If you can’t afford a cheap mower, you can still maintain a lawn with a cheap weed whacker. I have a feeling it is more a lack of desire than a lack of equipment. When I hit hard times in my middle age, I got rid of everything I absolutely didn’t “NEED”. WANTS definitely had to go.
