CLIP DESCRIPTION:
The aliens get loose from their chamber, which spells the end for Dr. Gediman (Brad Dourif).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Two centuries after Ellen Ripley's death, doctors aboard the space station Auriga clone her using a blood sample taken from Fiorna 161, in hopes of harvesting the queen embryo that was incubating inside of her when she was trapped on the remote penal planet. Finally succeeding after numerous attempts, they remove the alien and repair the clone for further study. Before long, the Ripley clone has gained consciousness, and displays superhuman capabilities that suggest it possesses alien DNA. When Ripley discovers that General Perez (Dan Hedaya) is keeping the queen in a heavily fortified room of the space station, she warns the military man and his scientists that the creature cannot be contained no matter how hard they try. Meanwhile, General Perez has hired a crew of space pirates to deliver the cryogenically frozen bodies of another ship to the Auriga so they can be used to breed more aliens. The leader of the pirates is Johner (Ron Perlman), a gruff mercenary who engages Ripley to no avail. When Call (Winona Ryder), one of Johner's crewmembers, admits that she was sent to assassinate Ripley, General Perez attempts to have the pirates executed. The result is a tense standoff between the pirates and the military men, with the aliens causing havoc after breaking free of their containment cells. Attempting a daring escape, Ripley and the pirates discover the lab where she was cloned before being forced to swim through the mess hall, which has been submerged in water during the aliens' escape. Discovering a carefully guarded secret about Call's past, Ripley attempts to convince her to alter the Auruga's course, which was set to Earth when the ship went into emergency mode. With the fate of mankind hanging in the balance, Ripley is captured by the aliens and taken to their nest, where she comes face to face with the mutated results of the scientists' experiments.

Ya I know but I think there are also other situations where a xenomorph might bleed for example when it may try to break the walls to escape and hurt itself to bleed ... its basic, a zoo keeper who knows a lion's attributes would surround it with walls high enough beyond the lion's leap, so to want to put a xenomorph in a cage knowing how corrosive its blood is, the scientists would at least know to find a material that is resistant to their blood .. to not even think of such basic thing means they're dumb .. the only way to explain this is that its a plot hole that the script writer failed to notice ..

Well then ask yourself why the xenomorphs are not melted by their own acid blood, of course there can be something resistant to their blood, themselves are prime examples of such materials ... and by the way, psst pst, this is a fictional movie dear, a script writer can simply say the cage is made of anti-corrosive metal and his words becomes the movie !
Plasma forged metal can resist the acidic nature of the Alien blood, which a few Predator Clans make use of for weapons and armor. It's not specified what type of metal is being plasma forged though.

Even if they were one a cell, one could still bite off a finger or even rip off its tail to use it's own blood to burn a way out (I gotta imagine they can stand to loose a body part or two and keep going tough cookies that they are).
As someone here said, acid proof cells would be the way to go.
Hell in Aliens they worked out a way to keep face huggers in some kinda liquid in jars.

Keep in mind that this movie is the only Alien movie where we effectively see an Alien begging for its life.
I honestly felt that was very out of character, I’d assume they’d be willing to give up their life since we’ve seen countless xenomorph’s do the same in ‘Aliens’ when they tried to get past the turret and when two xenomorph guards tried protecting the queen from Ripley. My gues is that the whole slightly more human aspect in their dna could be to blame.

@Raven Link The Xenos have always been this smart. The "Big Chap" from the 1979 original also toyed with Lambert and Parker before killing them and knew to hide in the escape pod before detonation. The Xenos in Aliens were also very stealthy and knew to cut the power. Aside from the one in Resurrection showing signs of fear of being killed by its own kind, they don't display any behavior that previous Xenos wouldn't be capable of in previous films.
@Raven Link This is because they have human DNA in them. Xenos have never killed one of their own kind in previous films. Humans are one of the few species to kill their own kind, so the presence of our DNA in them has granted them this instinct to be used in a strategic sense. And as another user mentioned, it also gave them the emotion of fear as demonstrated by the smaller Xeno that was disembowelled in this scene.
@Raven Link Now that you mentioned it, the comics do state that Xenomorphs do indeed have hive wars akin to when two ant colonies under different queens meet each other.
What I want to know is, what exactly did this guy think he was accomplishing by going INTO the xenomorph cage? What did he think he would find? Best case scenario- nothing. Worst case- a God-Damned xenomorph. Even if he wanted to just figure out where they went, well, that is what schematics and armed guards are for. I mean Jesus, he didn't even call it in or pick up a weapon.

That's actually a common phenomena. Apparently, when something 'very weird' happens, a natural instinct of every intelligent life form is to... investigate. Not run. Running starts once a weird thing is confirmed to be a threat.

And that's why when you hear a noise at your house, you firstly take a flashlight and go check it out.

In case you haven't seen the movie, his character isn't all really "together there" to begin with. Through his many scenes in the film, his fascination with the xenos comes across as more and more creepy, not really respecting the danger he is in.
This is the same guy that called the Newborn a beautiful butterfly even when it's about to gnaw his brains out.

Dude an escape pod is the last place you wanna be when these things are on the loose. Because that is the first place they'd go. The first movie pretty much showed that.

It does exist hence why do we have containers that are acid proof and borosilicate glass for example is acid proof
Dzung Huynh they didn't expect them to turn on one of their own and kill them just so that they could escape into the hole in the floor that it's acidic blood would've created.
In the start of this movie, the Aliens have been extinct for 200 years, so creating a xeno acid proof material probably was on the military's TODO list.

+Paul Lindley While acid resistant materials are available, we do not have acids as potent as Xeno blood to test on them. They are not acid proof, but resistant. Xeno blood is extremely potent, one drop (as evidenced in alien), just one tiny drop, was able to eat through multiple layers of Grade A starship titanium. It ate through that metal as easily as fluoroantimonic acid would eat through tissue paper. Add on to that, the Xenomorph's are extremely smart, and are constantly underestimated by companies because they don't believe "Bugs" can be smart. Heck, the Queen figured out how to operate an Elevator in Aliens lol. The Xenomorph's seem to also be aware of how potent their blood is, and have used it as a weapon.

In the novelization, the xenomorphs all agreed one must be sacrificed to save the rest. The one who died had agreed to it, even though his survival instinct kicked in. The others honored him and mourned his loss.
Why did one have to sacrifice via death though? Couldn't they injure or maim enough to release enough acid to escape?

But they are not the best odds possible, and if this plan failed, their containment situation would have been reinforced, and all specimens likely separated. And the injured one probably euthanized anyway. This was the option with the greatest chance of success.

The first two alien films were great in their own respective ways. The original is a terrific sci-fi horror/suspence flick and it's sequel was a terrific sci-fi action/horror flick. After that though, things really went downhill quick!

Considering this is supposed to be set centuries after the first movie, I really can't understand The Company's motivations. You would think that after three previous attempts to control the xenomorphs that it would have set in that it really can't be done.

Except this time wasn't a company, in A:R, the military was responsible for the xenomorphs comeback. My guess is the grunts assumed they could "rambo-it" out of any delicate containment failure situation, but that doesn't work on xenos. Also, they probably had some disdain about the Sulaco battalion, believing them to be some sort or archaic morons.

I have a theory that roaring at each other xenomorphs estabilished a hierarchy of dominance. The specimen that had the weakest roar was considered the most suitable for a sacrifice.
Once Ripley said that she don't know which species is worst, because Xenos don't kill each other.
It's clear that this ones are part humans just like Ripley is part Xeno now.

Alien Resurrection was the first alien movie I watched back when I was a kid like in 2001... its also unironically my favorite alien movie
That being said it’s a terrible alien movie after having watched all the other alien movies but it’s still a good stand alone movie on its own in my opinion

Brad Dourif steals every scene in every movie he's in! Even when it's just his voice...( I'm talkin' Chucky) See Mr. Dourif in "Graveyard Shift". Awesome as the Exterminator! Trust me, I'm left-handed.
I adored him as the stuttering Billy from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
He plays a really good weasel type character as well like when he played Wormtongue in Lord of the Rings

I'm gonna be honest I like the looks of the xenos here more than in covenant. I don't like this movie very much but the animatronic practical effects here are amazing

Yeah it's weird that people don't tend to pick up on this, she's super attuned to these beasts, sure we don't feel this way, but we can understand her. This movie is not up to the caliber of the first two Alien movies--it's too hokey and corny of a plot and dialogue--but it's an entertaining movie to watch
