I’ve never been to one of their pubs, but I love a bottle of Sam Smiths at home. This porter, the Nut Brown Ale, Oatmeal and Choc Stout are usually to be found in my beer stash. I’ll take their products over a novelty “craft” beer any day of the week.

Humphrey Smith only whats people to have a conversation, without the use of mobile phones I've met on more one occasions always very polite and old school,I love there pubs because of the mobile ban,my local Sam Smith is like going back to better times people talking to one another with out mobile ringing and noisy TV s in the background All their bottles beers are top quality no adjunts and quite a few are organic please try the organic pale ale a favourite of mine.mr Humphrey Smith retires at the end the year,my local Sam Smith pub manager Humphrey is ok,as long you abide by the rules
I'm back! Last night I watched your video on Trappist ales, and tonight again I have a LaTrappe Triple and some Warka Strong Ale from Poland. Tucking in! 🙂

@@TheCrumbyBeard Warka is 6.3% abv, amber in colour, feels thick, a bit sweet. I like it, although I've heard it may have sugar and/or corn added.
It comes in nice 500 ml glass bottles, and homebrewers liked them because they took old style crown caps, instead of the fragile twist off type that are common in Canada. That's how I got on to the Warka.
It has been implied that Warka is what one drinks if homeless and alcoholic in Poland. Oh well...
@@dietrichess9997 ahh. One of those beers! They’re really funny because using brewers sugar etc is a hallmark of Belgian beers but for some reason as soon as that’s applied to a lager it becomes associated with park benches 😅

Live in York so surrounded by their pubs. You won’t find draught beer as cheap, £2.80 a pint for their dark mild. The phone and music thing is actually ok once you adapt.
The owner however is an absolute nutjob. Owns most of tadcaster and doesn’t just treat staff badly, he treats the whole of tadcaster badly.
I really don't have an issue with the no phones no music thing, if anything I quite enjoy the idea. It's just the over-zealous signage and approach to it that makes it actually less enjoyable as it feels your being watched. A "we prefer you not do XYZ" would be much better than frequently signed list of rules you must adhere to, I'm trying to relax! Haha, cheers!

Those sign definitely do more to ruin the old fashion aesthetic than a guy in the corner quietly browsing the internet on his phone would.
Love independent breweries,such as Sam Smith love there products,both cask keg ,there bottle range are supior to the supermarket range,as for Mr Humphrey Smith, I've met him on many occasions while he doing his pub tours, always very polite I know there is very negative comments about him, but I know he does a lot of good things which never gets mentioned,alot of people talking about is wealth etc, but if you meet him he doesn't come across as a wealthy man, just someone I feel cares about traditional values.remember the owner of, wetherspoons coming out in public about is staff during lockdown, but nothing negative was said about him, people should leave Samuel Smith's alone, thank goodness with have a brewery that is inderpentent and not run by macro brewerys that produce beers in the UK,and pretend that they are brewed in Europe are rubbish.support all independent brewerys
