Never have sadder words been written down - “Attack on Titan is Ending”. Ok, maybe we’re being a little over dramatic but unfortunately one of the biggest and best anime is coming to end in 2022 with it all set to come to a massive head. How it will all go down is unclear, but we can safely assume it’s going to be epic! This is in part down to the foreboding and subtle hints that have been scattered through the series already, as well as words from the man who created the series himself. To be honest, there have been many times that we have looked back in hindsight and wondered how we didn’t figure these things out all along. I mean, they were right in front of our eyes the whole time!
That’s why we thought this would be the right time to go back and look at all the things you might have missed in the show. Because to be honest, we’re not ready to see it go. From easter eggs to other popular shows and graphic novels, ominous foreboding taking place early on and even spoilers hidden into the frame these are some of the greatest Attack on Titan moments you might have missed.

Another fun fact about Eren's dream in the first episode.
Eren woke up underneath the tree and was woken up by Mikasa. He then states that he had the longest dream and asks her "Aww, when did your hair get so long?" foreshadowing Mikasa's new look in the 4th season.
"Longest dream" - referring to the future.
In the 3rd season, we also learn that Eren gained powers of which he can see the future when touching a royal (Historia) which was also foreshadowed in the first episode.
How was that foreshadowed in the first episode?
Fun fact:When Marlo thought about Hitch in his final moments,Hitch was actually waiting for him to come back 🥲

3:17 Not only is Eren accessing these memories via the Attack Titan, but Future Eren is influencing the prior Attack titans to his will. Using the founding Titans power in the coordinate realm, Eren has influenced at least Krueger, Grisha, and himself. Krueger says the Attack Titan "Has always moved ahead, seeking freedom" to Grisha, this is probably the freedom Eren has wished for since the beginning, likely almost every attack titan has been influenced by Eren in some way.
This is verified by seeing what really went down with Grisha, and the Reiss family in the final season.
Grisha didn't want to kill them, but Eren made him do it.
the whole time travel stuff is so confusing bnecause had eren not done anything, would he have been stuck in the coordinate forever? or would he have died because he would've died long ago?
I could be way off with this, but didn’t that dream happen before the attack on the walls, aka before he even received that attack titan? So he can have/be influenced by the memories even before becoming a titan?

One thing I missed on my first watch was in the scene at the castle, where Ymir is revealed as the Jaw Titan. When she reveals herself we can see that Reiner and Bertolt are visibly distraught. (As she killed their friend) As she jumps back up to grab everyone off the top of the tower, you can see Reiner and Bertolt in the background with their hands close to their mouths, in the same way eren uses to transform. Cool little detail.
Marco, but even more dark, When the scouts find him- there's several shots from Marcos perspective. Insinuating that he was still alive.

For manga readers... Another huge foreshadowing easter egg you missed from S1, where it shows Eren waking up from his dream under the tree with Mikasa there....

You can see Mikasa and Eren sitting in front of the tree, with only Erens head visible.. which is the only thing left of him when he dies, with the person who cut it off sitting beside him, underneath the exact same tree in which she buries his head, in the end. Also, in the very next shot, it shows only Erens head, waking up with a bird flying by in his eyes reflection.

Another Armored Titan foreshadowing moment was in S1. During the Female Titan arc, when Armin is theorizing that the female Titan is a human Reiner starts sweating and glaring at Armin
Carla's legs weren't crushed by the house, she used it as an excuse Eren and Mikasa would give up on saving her and increase their chances of survival. You can see her shaking her legs around when Dina picks her up.

@@tb124.gaming Wrong. Ymir was able to deduce Reiner was from Marley from the fact he knew what a Herring was in the first place. Since they’re both from Marley, a sea port. Herring is only found in the ocean, people inside the walls wouldn’t know of it.

So started watching this again with the Wife (she got hooked instantly) but something I think everyone has missed early that blew my mind: After the Trost attack, Erin just woke up surrounded my the military no knowing wtf just happened. A cannon ball is shot at them, Erin half-transforms to block the cannon ball. very subtlety, Armin noticed how some flowers just instantly grew at the same time underneath them. The instant flowers haven't been been brought up since.

Fun fact : Mikasa was named after the popular Spanish phrase “mi casa es su casa” which translates from Spanish into “my house is your house” The term became popularized by a 70s sitcom “Chico and the Man” Apparently the creator of AOT is a HUGE fan of western movie culture ... a Titan perhaps? 😉
The first time i finished aot my jaw was just on the floor. Its literally so good. The Plot. The animation. The Voice acting. The foreshadowing is immaculate. Everything in this anime is just perfect.

Speaking of similarities between AoT and Whatchmen. I remember Eren's explanation of how he sees time: every moment of time seen for him simultaneously. That's how Dr. Manhattan's vision of time was explained in graphic novel.

As someone who’s watched the series since episode 2 came out… I always cry. This show has been a part of my life for almost half my life and I don’t think I’ll be able to accept that it’s over or how it ends.

I’m not opposed to the ending Isayama has in store for ous, that is how war is, there is often no winning side in war as people are dying. At the same time there is something horribly beautiful in war as we are often fascinated by it and that is why we read about it so much. I believe that is also the reason the intro has so much reference to war. Hell the story has gone from people fighting with swords to guns to atomic bombs (colossal titan). And like the narrator said this is a war where the two opposing side (originally from the same “people/eldians”) can’t communicate with each other.
theres hints to the attack titan being able to see future attack titan memories when grisha is sitting on the wall with eren kruger, and kruger says that he needs to do it to "save armin, save mikasa" when they're not even born yet. he then follows it up with "who's memories are those?" because at that time, they only know that the titan can see previous attack titans memories, not future ones. i want to know if grisha ever reacted funny or thought something about eren's only friends being named armin and mikasa.

Just finished AOT. This was my first Anime series at the age of 25. How just I missed such a great show in my life? I felt like Gabi, thinking Anime was just for devil kids. But now I need to be like Falco, ready to learn and accept.

Similar to yourself, started & finished reading Berserk as my 1st manga within 2021 at 30, followed by Blue Period. I'm so thankful that I didn't have to wait for chapters during long hiatus . I've caught up with AoT over the break last December so will read the manga before the rest of season 4 gets released. Vangabond is on the manga list for 2022.

Ayanami was also a battleship. So were Katsuragi, Ibuki, and Akagi. Almost all the female characters in EVA are named after ships.

But if I recall correctly, in episode one, he didn't have titan abilities yet, right? He ate his father to attain the attack and founding titan after the fall of shiganshina... Yes. I was wondering about that too. I guess since he can see future the future is also kinda like written. So he doesn't really have to have his titans powers. It's gonna come to him no matter what happens. People say that's why he laughed when Sasha died. As you would remember it was kind of a psychotic laugh. Eren knew in that moment that he really can't change anything. So it was faith/destiny all along.
Also someone other than me who have read the manga explained as:
it’s what the narrator said. While Eren didn’t have the Attack Titan ability at that time, it doesn’t matter. The wielder of the Attack Titan can transcend time and space to show other holders of it images of the past, present or future or even talk to them. And with later on having fully controlled the Founding Titan power as well, he can pretty much contact anyone that is an Eldian (or a Subject of Ymir) whether they hold a Titan or not.

it’s kind of explained in the last chapters of the manga, through the power of the attack titan he can not only see but communicate with the past too and show them the future, I guess that since he ends up having that power it’s almost like he always had it, he couldn’t use it at that point but the future him could “talk” to the past him, don’t want to go too deep since it could be a spoiler but he did that other times too

I always considered Mikasa as the queen of the game for her desperate attempts to save the king (Ereh) from checks (kidnaps). And the black king on the other side is Zeke, you can see them standing like chess pieces in Shiganshina war, with Pieke alongside him. And their goal is to capture white king (Ereh).
