I enjoyed it. I understand why some people werent a fan, but I felt like it fit the narrative of the story perfectly, was logical and did give a proper end to the characters.
The time that was given to the ending of the characters helped a lot. In the manga I personally felt like everything was more or less for nothing (And well, that is kinda the point. He was a slave to freedom, after all), but it just felt a bit dissatisfying that everyone's hard work just ended with yet another war.
Not because that wasn't a fine way to end it, but because the manga didn't convey how much time had past compared to the anime.

If you remember Armin talked about always being last place in the race to the tree with Eren and Mikasa. And in the ending credits you can see Armin portrayed as an old man walking up to his two friends tombstones indicating his last place arrival one last time as they both passed away before him.

The ending where Mikasa was sitting under the tree remembering Eren sleeping was beautifully connected to the first episode pointing out him crying. "I was having a long dream" connected to one of the title chapters in the finale. Mikasa pointing out him crying like how he pointed out her crying at the cabin. Mikasa crying in the end understanding that it was from that moment that everything they experienced was that dream he had. This anime is beautifully written, animated, and directed.

Eren was disappointed because he expected to explore all of the outside world free from the titans with everyone he cares about and didn't think there was humanity outside the walls. He thought the world would be a clean slate to start a new heaven-like life. Instead, all he saw outside the walls was even more death and suffering, a whole world of so many people who wanted him everyone he cares about dead. Humanity that knew the truth about the world all along and chose to bring continuous attacks of titans upon them. He just wanted to wipe it all away, creating that clean slate he originally thought it would be.

Levi was just built differently. But if you wanna make a sad point out of it, it's probably because all his life, he only knew roughness & aggression so handling something delicate like a glass cup feels completely unnatural
AoT is the definition of: I've learnt so much from someone that never even existed.
Here is why the ending was near perfect to me. It's because if titans were real in our world, this is the most logical and realistic ending there could be. It follows human nature to a tea. The cruel and harsh decisions that were made, the inner conflicts of every character, the crippling fear they all had...every bit of this is what would actually happen if titans attacked us. Therefore, any other ending would have just been fictional optimism. To me.
This ! It's not a black and white story. "The bad guys were killed/stopped, now everyone can be happy" cannot coexist with human nature. Sure there may be some years of peace (or at least no great war), but it cannot last forever. Isayama is aware of that and I thank him for not taking the easy route.

2:59 i never knew that. I thought Marco was killed because Iseyama didn't know what to do with him. I also heard that Marco was supposed to represent the average soldier. He was idealistic in the top 10 of his class, yet his died without "anyone" witnessing what happened, showing that no one is safe under circumstances like these.
Anyways, i think that he used to be a fan favorite side character, not unpopular.
Every character suffered a hell but Levi suffered beyond limit and died along with those sufferable memories and as loner....😢. Truly feel so so bad for Levi..😭😭

The anime was full of tragedy, but maybe because it was like that it made me more attached to the characters. They struggled for themselves, their families, their futures, over and over and over again. The story and art were captivating, the humanity was so well-portrayed that you can't help but feel as though they were real, the music was on track with the point of the story, openings and endings made me guess what the ending will be like with all the hints. I grew up with them, watching their lives, rejoicing over their victories and mourning their deaths. This wasn't just a story, I was given friends, mentors, joy and sadness that cannot be fully explained with words. All I can say is that my heart is full.
my favorite sad fun fact, there's a good chance that sasha's final words werent about meat but about niccolo. meat in japanese is niku and the way she she was struggling to get her last words out could have been easily confused because she never fully gets her last words out

Eren actually went insane when he was marching in the founding titan not only because he was killing 80% of humanity, but because he was seeing the past future and present all at the same time, meaning he saw everything that happened in the mini end credit scene, he saw the deaths of Mikisa Armin and everyone he cared for, and he saw the tree they raced to crumble over on his grave and he watched that boy with the dog become the next founding titan, repeating history all over again…
I see something about Levi's fingers. He lost 2 on one hand. The hand with all 5 fingers represents the 5 Titan shifters for the good side, Colossal, Armor, Cart, Jaw, Female. And his other hand with 3 represent Eren and the 3 Titan powers he had, Founder, Attack, and Warhammer. But what about the Beast? That's the one Levi has to kill.
The sad thing is that when Eren kissed historians hand in season 3 he saw his whole future and knew about his inevitable death so it was basically Eren trying the hardest
Meh, my favorite 'sad' fact is the final interaction we get to see between Reiner and Karina - the fact that he is absolutely /crushed/ that he is no longer the Armored Titan (and no longer destined to die in 2 short years) and shocked to absolute silence when his mother says that it's fine and what she wants is her son shows exactly how unhealthy their relationship is. It's in that scene where it's truly hammered home that he never had a mother - he had a groomer who was actively working to make him a weapon for her own desire for revenge against the system that held her down, making him a tool to elevate herself to the status that she was denied when Reiner's father left her to deal with her son alone. He has no idea how to move forward, and his stiff posture with grit teeth and helpless tears amplify that point - Karina may want a son /now/ that the need for the weapon is gone and now that she's realized how close she came to losing him, but it's likely too late for that. Also, it begs to question why she's desperate for her child now, when just months before the conflict, with the knowledge that he would be perishing from the Curse of Ymir within a couple of years, she was fine and dandy with him being a victim to that fate and with his cousin murdering him and inheriting a curse that would kill her in 13 years' time.
That, in all actuality, is one of only two scenes that draw tears from me consistently during this series (the other one that never, ever fails is Isabel and Furlan's deaths and Levi's following horrified shrieks and pained howls when he goes into his slaughter-frenzy in the ACWNR OVA).
God damn ... Karina always pissed me off . Both of Reiner's parents were complete garbage. It's a miracle that he ended up having at least some good in himself despite the shitty upbringing. When Reiner was trying to tell Gabi the truth , albeit in a roundabout way , she shut him up . She was actually happy when Reiner became the armoured Titan ! Even Annie's abusive father was actually sad. That bitch didn't give a single shit about how traumatized his son was all these years ( she didn't even properly ask him), but she damn sure told her family about how poor Reiner must have suffered between the devils . She is the kind of person who nowadays traumatises kids and uses that trauma for clout or money . After all this time , she only wants her son back because now he has fulfilled the duty of Armoured Titan , saved the world in front of a hundred eyes and is going to be hailed as a hero in Marley . Gabi's parents weren't much different as well ! The entire Braun family consisted of shitty adults who taught their kids that killing people mercilessly is a good thing and something to be proud of .
You know what else is sad. That fans think Mikasa married Jean despite her saying that she cant move on from Eren when he told her to forget about him and not even that but not even that the flowers both her and Eren had were the same. Also even if she did marry someone why would her husband burry her next to her old lover
Fans say that because the final panels in the epilogue in the manga show her standing along someone with the same body structure, height and hair style as Jean before the tombstone. If you carefully watch the end credits, the man who appears with Mikasa after the 7 cycles of the seasons following the 3-year-post-war ship arrival and Mikasa's interaction with the bird has the exact same characteristics as the man in the manga, as well as the same hair color as Jean - watch it on a very large screen television, and it's actually pretty clear. (also I remember reading somewhere back when the manga ended that it was confirmed by Isayama that Jean and Mikasa are canon by the end)
So putting all that together, Mikasa did in fact mourn Eren for 10 years (7 season changes and 3 years prior to those season flicks in the credits) just as Eren told Armin he'd hoped she would before she gets with another man.
And of course Jean would bury her next to Eren. He knows his place. ;)

His crush on her and daydreaming about her doesn't matter since at end it was not about jean, it was about mikasa who gave no shit about anyone other than eren. If you really think about it, Eren basically danmed himself and his friends. Let me explain it this way: Eren saw the future memories of the AT, thus after witnessing all he was about to do and the deaths of literally everyone he cared about he set on this futile crusade to prevent it, this had the unwanted consequence of causing all he saw to become true in the first place.
For example: The raid on liberio was supposed to basically be done just by himself, probably in an attempt to prevent everyone else from being there in the first place, but because of his attempt to defy fate, his friends showed up to save him, causing the death of many of his comrades, him becoming now a hypocrite, the declaration of war to now go on full support, and the death of Sasha, one of the only people in Paradis that was able to cause a Marleyan to like eldians and could have becomed a negotiator, this paired with the positive relations she had with Reiner(One of the most respected warriors) and Ymir(which would have been witnessed by Gallard).
Another one is his attempt to prevent Armin and Mikasa from being in Shiganshina by driving them away and locking them up, caused them to pursue him and end up in the battle in the firstplace. Apply the same for all of the events of the Rumbling and you can see that each attempt done by Eren to defy fate ends up in that horrible thing happening.
I never noticed that fact about Carla, Eren's mother, that she lied about her legs condition in order to prompt the kids to save themselves. That, and Levi's last words to Hange really made my eyes brimmed with tears. Also, I think Levi, along with Saint Seiya's Hyoga, are the characters from anime that suffered the most.

And I have a theory the reason it didn't show Marco at the end of the series is because he might have something with Jean in the last 18 pages that's releasing next year, explains why they didnt include him in the anime as well when they usually fix scenes like that, he literally appeared in all the dead soldier scenes except the last one which means something must be up
Eren let his friends use his abilities, coz he wanted them to kill him. He wanted the world to see paradi people as their allies, not devils. So that's why he became enemy to humanity and died from his friends

before all these outer wall journeys Eren promised to wipe out all of the titans, he succesfully did that.
The only part that eased my pain was Jean in the end with his lines:
1. " I want you guys to have long lives, my ass"
and
2. "It's really a shame that your life got longer Reiner".
He made me laugh a little bit on that tragic episode.
One of best anime for sure. The only anime that remains on the Top 1 forever is Berserk.

I did not think I'd cry coz I've watched AoT twice. But it's the Ackermann facts. JUST them.
Its 1000% plausible that Carlas legs were crippled to the point that she couldn't run, but she could still move them. She just couldn't run. What about when Reiner and Bertholdt betrayed the Scouts and Reiner later admitted to "accidentally" biting Erens arms off, yet earlier after the Colossal threw himself off the top of the wall onto Eren and Reiner, and we see Bert carrying Eren, and Erens arms are clearly hanging there as he was unconscious and being carried like a princess. It was either an oversight on the studios part, or Reiner cut off Eren's arms after they made their escape to the Giant Trees.
But wasn't that ymir he was carrying?
Now I want that Levi spinoff even more.

The creator literally made an anime that made lots of people cry that none other anime has done .He really is a creator that makes sade moments even for the voice actors.

During the rumbling eren had his eyes closed the entire time except when mikasa killed him bc he wanted to see her one last time

One fact that you missed was that Annie was deeply saddened by killing people. When Reiner manipulated her to kill Marco, she cried. When Eren punched Annie into the full church, she took a moment to look at the people she accidentally killed, then cried when Eren eventually stops her, meaning that all those deaths were in vain. She is the only person who cried in Titan form, when Levi rescues Eren from her, meaning that yet again all the people she killed died in vain. She cried for more of her screen time than Eren did in his. Just like Levi, she seemed cold and calculating but is very emotional.
And there are still people out there hating the ending of attack on titan because eren‘s breakdown crying over mikasa, saying this broke his character💀😪
Eren held back his feelings for Mikasa for who knows how long, trying to make the woman he loved hate him because he knew that she was the only one who could kill him, I think that in that moment Eren's outburst was very human. There had been signs of Eren's love for Mikasa in the various seasons and that outburst only let out everything he had been holding back for a long time

The rumbling was just depressing
For me the saddest moment was in the first episode when the scouts returned and the mother of the deceased asked if his son was sevice to humanity and there was only despair and we got to know what that meant when eren went on his first mission, when they went outside the walls and the whole of erwins last mission. it was all for nothing. Second i feel bad for erwin that he didn't see what was in the basement but at the point he had a pretty solid idea watching humans turn into titans and seeing titans in the wall. Also the fact no one ever questioned if there was a world outside or people outside shows the ignorance of the masses.

sorry for late interruption but u forgot 1 thing.. on the wall at paradis entrance, the owl told grisha that he has to be there to protect armin n mikasa while grisha ask who is that.. means the owl know how everything will end and he just carrying the attack titan so that he can assist eren who that will end the titans era..
How can you expect us to Cry from these observations (which are impressive) when you narrate them like a joke. Can't take it seriously.
One thing i found really sad is that you can see erens eyes are red when he opens them one last time. Which means he was literally crying during the entire rumbling.
Also the fact that him and mikasa never shared a hug or something together until the very end. It was always mikasa hugging him and never both
I don’t hate Isayama for the ending, yes it was a bad ending but if it wasn’t for Isayama we wouldn’t even have Attack on Titan.

Most of sad fact you told about Levi were irrelevant.
You didn't even include mikasa parents, bertholds father, reiner life, about miche, zeke past life which were more sad than many facts you told here.
Another tragic fact:
Eren had his eyes closed whilst the whole Rumbling. He only opened his eyes, right before Mikasa killed him, so he could see her one last Time. 😢😭
