Yes! I bought my 2g used and in two days after driving it away the damn handle broke! The dealership was nice to replace it. I was lucky.

You forgot the "Danger to Manifold" with a high likely hood that the passenger floor panel will shoot up bolts towards the driver and fall off while top speeding about 218kmh and randomly smoke up the engine.

I was in high school when the 2g came out, I feel in love with the body.
Everyone was rocking honda and acura so I wanted to be different, I wanted a gsx. Then fast and furious came out and everyone wanted one.
13 years later I found a originally stock gst, untouched by fast and the furious.
I knew technology wasn't good for it in the early 2000s so I waited until the technology and tuners got better at messing with it.

I saw on the street and just fell in love with it everyone nowadays have civics nd g35’s i could honestly care if i get babies but do you think this would be a good first car, is it worth it?

@jonqz I came from a civic world.and I would rather chose the civic, easier to work with, less problematic and easelier parts to source.
On the other hand when my gst is running great, it's a fun car to drive.
I had 2 babies in my coupes civic and it had more room.
When my 2 boys grew up 6 and 8 yrs old, the eclipse in the back was pretty tight.

I’m pretty sure the oil problem that has to do with the head gaskets would easily happen on pretty much any older vehicle.

I’ve owned 5 different 2g eclipse and had non of the problems you mention exept for the valve cover leaking. The biggest problem is that it was cheap and anybody could afford it and beat it to death and never do the proper maintenance

My 2g 1999 had an electronic problem. No power but after a few times it would just start. Clutch yes loose and a pain. Also there was a bolt that I couldn't reach but it was loose in the back against the wall. Other than that it was a fun car to drive. The look of it always had people turning to see.

GR8 clip but how U fail 2 mentioned the #1 thing on DSM is to 50-60k service of timing belt, water pump, etc. If belt breaks UR engine screwed balls deep
