Don’t forget how many miles your vídeos have inspired others to ride. Huge value in that. I think the positivity is infectious. I genuinely don’t know how you do these rides whilst filming and then the work of editing etc. Max kudos to you both.
Never again ! Till next time :) Gold medal "stubbornness" the pair of you ! ( & support crew) 24 hrs round & round a "so so" view loop ! Guys & Gals over in Paris winning "precious metal" for letting gravity do it's thing, off a diving board for 3 seconds ! Runners will know, so easy to get caught up aiming to beat previous times etc, feeling "pressurised" to "improve". Express Highway to Not a Happy Chicken Central ! Next time Amy, stick to the beans on toast, food of the Gods :) White van matey who threw the McDonald's Greaseball wrapping your way.......... Karma's a b # tch Love to Chester ❤
There is something magical about those moments when you decide to scrub your initial goal and just finish the ride on your own terms. It's incredibly important to be able to let go sometimes, and it's releasing those initial expectations that makes the sun come out on those last miles home. (And then you smashed it! Congratulations!!)
On my first attempt at a 100k permanent (so much shorter than 600k!!), my spouse and I chose a route that was far more hilly than we were prepared for. And then we had a fairly serious mechanical that had us detouring off route to find a bike shop for brake cables (now part of our field toolkit after this incident!). It was discouraging realizing that we weren't going to be able to hit our third checkpoint in time to earn points for the ride. After soldiering on grimly up more vicious hills we realized that even if the official permanent was a scratch we were still on an amazing route through gorgeous farm country and it was a beautiful day and we might as well enjoy ourselves going at our own pace. Angels sang and though no points were earned we had a wonderful time in the end!
Hi Amy wowza well done on Italy adventure. We met at the 24 hour TT. Your mum liked our set up - aka cosy nest!! Take good care & recover well 👌 Happy cycling!! 🚲
Remember seeing your result on Strava when it came through & thinking wow well done that's an amazing achievement. Watching this video shows how it was more impressive than I thought considering the course was harder than last year & you were battling your head for a large part of it. Well done the pair of you.
well done to both of you! I love Kyle's thesis on if you're a bricklayer, it absolutely gives you transferable skills in solidified protein shake mixing 😂 and then he whips out the pestle and mortar out just to be defeated by a couple clumps! At that rate. he'll have to get his laborer around to retrain him on how to mix !
What a super video, absolutely awesome. An epic performance from both of you. The icing on the cake was getting to meet you both (and your lovely Mum and Sister) at Pinarello Wilmslow. You are two of the loveliest people and such an inspiration. Looking forward to following your next adventures. My favourite line - ‘Amy I mix cement for a living’ 😂😂
Kyle's unintentional gem! 😅 The best comedy is always a "straight" line like that. They're such a fun & goofy pair and a pretty great couple. Glad we get to follow _their_ adventures.
Well done Amy and Kyle. Whether you do 50 miles or 400 miles, every mile is more than sitting on the couch. I love how real you are with your mindset, it can get in the way if you let it but you pushed thru and persevered .. You are a Rockstar!!
This video is mint. Yes I watched it right till the end. I managed 370 miles on my one and only 24hr so well done Kylie on your first 24hr. You both battled through as most riders have too in this race.
Amazing effort both of you. Loved how you went through the mill but cracked on and got it done. Well done both. PS my wife thinks I've gone mad. As soon as I finish something I say thats me Ding Dang Done... the looks!!
Amazing effort to both. Amy you are a icon of pure willpower to push through. The mental battle can sometimes be the hardest part. Great work to kyle wacking those miles up for his first TT I can 100% see him smashing the 400 next year for sure. Looking forward to the meet-up during your Italy ride in London :D
It was great to meet you both at Pinnarello in Manchester on Friday night. Just a lovely down to earth couple. Brilliant effort by you both on the 24 hour ride, mind-boggling what you both do on the bike! We hope to see you again. Both take care. All the best Paul, Lorraine and Ken 👍😁
G'day from Sydney, Australia. The both of you are absolutely amazing for pushing thru the pain, the cold and the mental anxiety of it all. CONGRATS & WELL DONE. ❤️🫶❤️
Oooh, definitely plant your mint outside! It isn't an indoor plant and won't thank you for making it live there. Oh, and well done to the whole family for their support - genuinely great effort by all. Molly's enthusiasm cheering you both on was really funny at 21:50, but mum's face at 19:03 was my absolute favourite bit!
Well done! That was epic and inspiring. Shows how important a good support team is. And it's great to see someone using a Trangia - get that kettle boiled in half an hour! 😀
Well done to both of you, awesome effort from Amy in getting over the 400 mile despite some issues. Kyle, as you say you will smash it next year with less stops. Precision Fuel - Gels & Carb drink have been awesome for me, no stomach issues and easy to get large amount of cards in as you ride! No 54
Amy - I'm very proud of you for your psychological breakthrough, even more than the number of miles ridden. Mental blocks are tough to overcome. So, well done!
Well done Miss Amy and Mr. Kyle!! You are an inspiration to everyone who has overcome a mental illness. I have also overcome, as much as possible, Kien Bock's disease.. due to a martial arts accident, the lunate bone in my wrist disintegrated. I didn't think that I would ever be able to ride a bike after that because I couldn't lean on the handlebars. But then i bought an endurance bike and voila! i can ride it without a problem!! I can ride 80, 90, 100km in a session without any problems!! I wish that we had more for cycling where I live. I live in Northern Ontario, Canada. We do have a bike tour of Manitoulin Island, the largest fresh water island in the world, but I don't know much about it. I only learned about it this spring. Next year I plan to ride it. As far as i know, it is a leisurely 2 day event. Mint? Plant it in a pot. Mint is an invasive plant. It will send out shoots, invade, and take over your entire garden. And you won't be able to get rid of it. I think that it is perennial and will come back year after year. I also love beans on toast. And! I recently, after hearing about it several times, made vegan flapjacks! I frosted them with white chocolate and they were delicious..
Ahh this is great to hear, so glad you’ve been able to get back on your bike, I hope you have lots of happy rides ☺️ enjoy your ride next year that sounds great! haha yes the mint is staying in a pot ✔️ Ohh the flapjacks sound lovely!!! Enjoy!!
Brilliant rides. Having ridden a minnows 12 hr I half know what you did….but what a great achievement. Good to see the master Jim Hopper too….a legend of the trike and 24 hrs. Congrats and thank you too for the effort of taking a video
It is uncomprehendable that you were cold in the summertime. It is almost 40c here every day here in Oklahoma USA for the next month or so. Congratulations on your TT. Amazing!
Well done to you both ; it reminded me of my attempts back in the day! Great to see Jim Hopper in good form. Checking the results, I see you were not only the 2nd Female rider but also the 2nd overall on a road bike Wow! Just think how much further you could do on a TT bike!
Every video you make is more incredible than the last one, love your inspirational content, you make me wanna go for a ride, congrats on all your achievements. 🚴♂️
Hi Amy and Kyle, you can only do what your body lets you do, and both your distances are fantastic 👍 having done it last year you knew what to expect, not always sure if that helps 🤷♂️ fantastic achievements 👌
Absolutely brilliant achievement both of you. Funny (not funny) when Kyle walked into the kitchen, laughed so hard, the poor bloke, think you've killed him ☺☺
Holy moly! I think I would struggle to alter between 1 hours ride and 1 hours sleep for 24 hours let alone ride the full 24 hours 😮 Well done to both of you for being tough as nails. PS. Kyle: "Amy, I mix cement for a living" just had me giggling for quite a while 🤣
Both you and Kyle are brilliant to push through the mental lows as night was inspiring. Your Mum & Sister are a brilliant support crew, they need to work for a pro team as soigneur.
I still can't fathom these times/distances. I cycle a fair amount, ~150 miles a week (never more than 80 miles at once) and after 5 hours on the bike I'm ready to throw the towel in, let alone motoring on for 24 hours 😅Hats off to both you and Kyle for your determination and athleticism!
Amazing effort Amy; never any doubt that you would do your best. Tell that negative monkey mind to bugger off; like you said be kinder to yourself and keep the train on the positive tracks please. Congrats to both of you; and kudos to that great support crew you had. Mum and sis were champs taking good care of you. Keep doing what excites you, follow your joy, and life will be the joy ride that you want. GO AMY!!!

Kyle - Excellent job for your first effort. I have a feeling that at some point you + TT bike will happen. From your bike fit you probably have the right physique for that type of bike (long & low).
Well done Amy, you pushed on through the low points, 400 miles brilliant ride ❤❤
