Hey CJ! First of all, I really enjoy your're videos. Don't sell yourself short, you are a chef and teacher. Now with that being said, I cooked ST Louis style ribs for Memorial Day using your method hear and the method in the Ninja Foodie Grill chart which is just putting them directly on the grill set at 500 degrees for 22 mins. and flipping have way through. With about 2 mins. left I apply a small amount of barbecue sauce on both sides. Now even though I added a half of cup of water to your method, I actually had better success with the Ninja method in less than half the time. I have had my Ninja for about a month now and I'm totally blown away by how great food turns out in this thing. Amazing ribs in 22 mins. is unbelievable as well as unheard of. Keep up the good work!
Hey thanks much! Hope you have a great week!

If you are ever out of the Sue Bee honey BBQ sauce or like me, live in an area where it's not available, they have the recipe for it on their website just using the Sue Bee hone which most people can get. Oh, and I'm making these this week end in my Ninja XL grill. Hopefully the temp and times will work the same.
Thank you CJ!! You do not steer me wrong. My Boston butt was amazing and I have ribs in there now! 👍🏼❤
Karen Worrell right on!! Thanks for letting me know!
Thanks, CJ! Gonna try this out tomorrow. Loving my Foodi grill. Been experimenting. First thing I tried was bacon. Turned out amazing. Then went with beef back ribs. Goodness! Me oh my! They were incredible.

Cooking With CJ -
Hey CJ! Hope you are well. I followed your instructions to make the ribs but used Figaro’s liquid smoke, Weber’s KC bbq rub, and Gourmet Warehouse’s sweet heat bbq sauce. Omg! They came out amazing. My husband loves it. Thank you so much for providing an easy to follow video on how to make ribs in the Ninja Foodi Grill. I was pretty overwhelmed when I first got it (my husband surprised me with it 2 weeks ago) but Not anymore. Your instruction has provided me with more guidance on how to ensure pork is properly cooked using the grill. I’ll continue to experiment to find what works best for me. Looking forward to what you put up next! *Ciao! ✌️
Sharleen AMC thanks for sharing! Means a lot to me! Cheers
Yum! I just ordered the Pro and I cannot wait to cook with it! Thanks for the great videos!
Yay! I’m excited it young! Make sure you join the Facebook group I started to share all the good stuff you’re gonna do in it! Cheers
Cooking With CJ I did! I’m loving all the recipes and pointers! I have two teenage sons who are big meat eaters so I can’t wait to make steak in there. I have an air fryer and I’ve made steak in there but it’s a slide out so I can’t get the cooking element as clean as I want so I’m really looking forward to this. The steak looks amazing!
Terry Mac very cool! You’re gonna love it!
Can't wait to try these!
Right on!
I’m with you, i dont like a lot of sauce, i want to taste the meat too! These ribs look awesome and ribs are one of my all time favorites!
Right on! Thank you! Have a great weekend!
Hey CJ, do you think you could use the grill plate for the whole thing? Prep the ribs as you did and using only the grill plate, use BAKE at 300º & preheat, place ribs in and cook till the ribs reach 180º Remove cooked ribs & add sauce, set grill to GRILL at 500º to preheat and put sauced ribs in for 5 more minutes. Just trying to simplify a little.
Yeah I’m sure you’d be fine doing it.
@@CookingWithCJ Thanks CJ, I'll be making them this afternoon. It seems there are a lot who say to Grill on high 500º for 20 plus minutes, but I doubt they get it as tender as your method. I have been using a smoker for several years and have had great results, but this is soooooo much easier to get similar results. Thanks for all the good ideas and a really fun video, say Hi to Mrs. CJ. Tom F.
Thank you!!!! I will try this over the weekend...
Let me know how it turns out! Thanks for stopping by!
Looking at this so I can do it now. Thanks
Very cool!
Nice!! I'm doing this for dinner!
Pamela Graham awesome!
Doing ribs today! Thanks CJ!

You opened your mouth Kent, now you gotta buy your Boss sauce !
Those ribs look really good Cj great job
Thanks brother! Cheers
You're obviously on a mission! Damn delicious video bud! Those ribs look amazing! Take care out there!
BBQ PIT DOG yessir! Thanks Big Rob! Hope all is well brother
Lol I screwed it up! I put them in bake mode at 400 degrees Fahrenheit… the result was just a liiittle too overcooked- but I managed to get away with it, because the sauce I used was extra delicious - and the char this ninja created was great!! I also baked some more left over ribs in my stove oven at 300 degrees Fahrenheit and then finished them off in grill mode on the ninja and wow excellent result. I ovened at 300 degrees for about 3 hours or so
That's funny. There's a reason why I do voice overs . . . no sarcastic comments from the Mrs!
Grill Top Experience lol! I need to start doing more voice overs then, thanks for watching brother!
Now your talking! Ribs all kinds ...I just ordered a bunch of your seasonings and sauces!
Right on! Thanks!
Confused,Pull after 30 mins,interval temp190,Not one hour,Yes?Then add sauce and Grill for grill marks.Thanks
I have the XL and because of the shape I can only do 2 of 3 and then I have to cook the 3rd piece while chowing done the others
I did a full rack on my XL, check it out.

@@CookingWithCJ I forgot you square them off. 🤦♂️
Righteous ribs!
Thank you sir!
I like the hat
What camera do you use? That picture quality looks so much better than my iPhone
iPhone 7 brother... lol. My Cannon took a dive about a year ago... just decided to keep using the phone. Couldn’t waste the cash on a new camera. Thanks for watching
For some reason I desperately long to see someone do an intro that says something like “Welcome to Cooking with Susan. My name is Janet.” Imagine how people would wonder who Susan is. 😂
Lol! Too funny
CJ good looking ribs.
Question: Could you use just the Grill part?
Roland Gadue yeah probably, I’ve seen it done that way. But I felt baking it first made it more tender.
Very true CJ we always want tender ribs.
This is going to be my Easter dinner.. plus homemade broccoli slaw..
So bake an hour at 300 with half a cup of water?
Then sauce and grill at 500 for 5 minutes?
I’m sorry I’d have to watch it again to answer your question. I did the video over a year ago, so I don’t remember all the steps.
It’s fine. I did 40-45 mins on bake at 300 and then brushed with sauce and hit it for 6-8 mins on grill at 500. Was delicious
What was the internal temperature you were looking for?
CJ wondering why didn’t you use the foil technique like you did in the other rib video? I am using the foil method but does it matter?
This was one of my first goes at it. Did a few more and figured out the best way to get it done.
Love your video CJ! Just wondering if your grill has the built in temp gauge. I have that grill and wanted to use that. You got the temp up to 190• after an hour. What do you think if I put the liquid smoke in that water, would I get the same taste??
Nadia Thomas thank you! No I don’t have the built on thermometer. I use a instant read thermometer to check it. I’m not sure if the liquid smoke would do anything in the water. I haven’t tried it. Thanks for watching!
CJ those ribs would have never made it to the sauce with me I would have gobbled them up as soon as they got crispy you can't
Right on! Thanks for watching!
You need to get one of the Hand Smoking Gun to add REAL smoke to the grilled items So easy just place in a zip lock bag add the SMOKE and close while the meat is resting .. Now you have real smoked meat or fish..
I know I need to look into it. Just got a lot of irons in the fire right now. Thanks for watching!
Which is better the original or the XL?
If you’re going to use the grill feature more, then go with the XL. If you’re going to use the other features more, then the original is good.
One hand Skills
Do you have to let the liquid smoke rest for an hour on the meat.
No you don’t. It can get overpowered with it.
@@CookingWithCJ ok thank you very much
Always enjoy your show CJ but the ribs looked burnt. Little too much char!
Did you say “pull these ooooot”? Are you from Canada?
Sorrre eh
I love my grill but when I put my grill on max or high it smokes and sets off my fire alarm every time any suggestions
I hear people put a little water under the grill plate. And they say that helps.
What kind of oil are you using? You may need an oil with an high smoke point like avocado oil. Olive oil will smoke at high temps.
pork is done at 165, why do you cook it so long? what am i missing? They look delish.
Thank you. It’s ok to eat at 165. But the longer you cook it and higher the internal temps, the more tender the meat gets. Thank you!
@@CookingWithCJ That's awesome, I had no idea.
Also I think it's because meats with more collagen like roasts and ribs break down at higher temps. 160 to start breakdown and -180 degrees for fully melting it
Is the recipe written out anywhere?
No sorry. I didn’t on this one. Usually I’ll put the ingredients and prep in the video description. But missed it on this one.
@@CookingWithCJ I just found your channel to get grilling with my new Ninja Foodi! Love the videos so far, and can't wait to try it out!
Jacqulyn Bowman that’s great! Thank you!
#BLISTEREDLIPSANDTONGUE
Eastwind Farms lol! Just saw this.
Usually like your videos but this was a terrible video. Poorly executed.
Tracey Mitchell noted. Thanks for that.
