It really annoys me as an atheist just how little effort is put into Christian movies nowadays. Back in the day we had epics like The Ten Commandments and Ben-hur, which could be appreciated as works of art regardless of your religious beliefs.

But there are ethical ways to enjoy those things w/o contributing to the overconsumption & consumerism that has taken over Christmas in the U.S.! In fact, I started an ethical shopping & gift giving guide that I sent out for Christmas 2010 (which I periodically update & send out again). I shared many of those links & ideas in a longass Facebook thread to which I kept adding. You can celebrate & have a joyful holiday w/o being so focused on YOUR family, YOUR friends, & the people YOU know that you don't even take the rest of the world into consideration!

Holy shit, I just looked up the guy playing "Christian the Christian," and (1) he's the director of Saving Christmas, but (2) I recognized his name. He directed one of Gary Daniels' better direct-to-VHS action movies, made music videos for a bunch of punk bands, and had a how-to-direct-a-music-video DVD that I actually referenced when I shot my first music video. And now he's one of these weirdos.
And here he made a movie thats made to sway people away from christianity. Kirk was never a christian. Hes an actor first and formost. He plays an idiotic caricature of one.
His character's full name is Christian White. The jokes write themselves. These propaganda pieces are a fucking disgrace to cinema. I'm shocked it's not a PureFlix original because it fits with those dumpster fires.

For that little bit, I was genuinely confused as to why this movie was so reviled. Then the rest of it happened, and I understood why.
