I mean, they kept “song of freedoms” (the anti-PDF movie, recommend watching ) up the shelves for years after buying it as well. If it wasn’t Disney not doing so well recently, I doubt that they will even sell it to collect money.
The muppets actually introduced me to a lot of really great musicians. All of Ben Vereen’s songs are great, especially Mr. cellophane. Henry Belafonte’s episode was great too, a really feel good episode, especially the ending song. I also loved all of Leo Sayer’s songs in his episodes, he’s such an underrated singer.
Glad to see another Muppet Enjoyer™️ I’ve been super inspired by Jim Henson in recent years so I’m glad I keep getting more Muppet videos in my recommended 💕
Hey! Love the video! I’m only 13 but my mom raised me on a lot of 80’s ish stuff, so I’ve known about The Muppets and how good they are, since before I could walk lmao, I’m glad you like it! You’ve joined the fandom, now there’s no going back 😀 Also, I was understanding but slightly disappointed when you said you didn’t know any of the guests because I was like, “you don’t know Elton John or Julie Andrews?” But then you said that they were the only two you recognized later in the vid lmao Also, also, I SOOO feel you with them cutting out half of “the interrogation song” IT MADE ME SO SAD, THAT SONG SLAPS
Hi-ho Beff! Thanks for giving me and the gang the recognition we deserve! It's not often that we get this, we hope to get new movies and shows and possibly a reboot of The Muppet Show! Keep being a muppet! - Kermit 🐸
really happy there are still fellow young people discovering/ obsessing over the muppets!!! this video made me giggle but i digress- muppets most wanted is actually the best film ever and you can fight me on that. also you should definitely watch the original muppet movie (1979) it’s such a classic and makes you appreciate the references made in later films back to the original. equally if you want an understanding of characters like the electric mayhem, the whole plot of the 70s movie is like a backstory for how the muppets ‘got together.’ anyway, nice video, keep it up!
My friends and I LOVE this movie, it just entraining and bright. In Spainsh version, the singers went so hard in Hombre o Muppet. I list to it more than I'd like to admit
my suggestions as a big muppet fan - watch muppets christmas carol. its one of my favorite movies, and is actually one of the most accurate adaptations of the christmas carol as far as i now. the great muppet caper and muppets take manhattan both have similar vibes imo and are both great as well. muppet treasure island, eh, its still good just didnt get my attention as much as i’m not a big pirate fan. muppets mayhem was surprisingly a good show, with good guest stars and better music, though it does focus on the human characters lives too much for me. a lot of the early sesame street episodes featured kermit and other muppets, with them all being funny even if its for kids. for just jim henson content theres the new disney plus doc, the amazing defunctland series, theres also a jim henson biography i’ve read which is pretty good and a little book with muppet quotes and quotes from the creators. labyrinth, also by jim henson, is such a good movie and david bowie is AMAZING, but it does drag in some spaces. never seen dark crystal, i know people don’t like it, but my mom is a big fan and she grew up w the muppets and jim henson creations.
you’re just like me fr ❤ agree with everything you said but also i love the dark crystal (though i didn’t watch the new netflix series, just the film) and also the original muppet movie is my comfort film.. going to get the end of the magic store tattooed one day i swear
The best Muppets movies are the three main OG's. The Muppet Movie, Muppets Take Manhattan, and The Great Muppet Caper. Those were when they were at their peak.
its so beautiful to see people still discovering the Muppets even after all this time. i first watched the Muppets on vhs tapes my father had that my grandfather tapped when it was originally airing (he loved the old men) i still vividly remember the wig race and the "we only wash our wigs with the finest poo!" . i love Christmas carol and Muppets from Space was my absolute favorite. i remember when the 2010s movies came out and saw them both in theaters. it was magical, identical to how im sure kids my age felt when seeing the star wars prequels in theaters. theres so much Muppets stuff to go through! i really hope we get more Muppet content, it is just pure magic and shouldnt die bc Disney doesn't understand it. wishing you joy in your further exploration, fellow dreamer💚
hi! I absolutely love the muppets and am a big fan of them, and just had a fun fact! when you said The Muppet Show reminded you of SNL at first, it reminded me that The Muppets actually were on SNL for the 1st episode or two! however it wasn’t a good fit of the comedy and the writers for SNL and most people working on it didn’t want to write for the muppets And I’m happy to see more people liking and talking about The Muppets! good video :D
16:12 There is an extended version of Muppets Most Wanted on the DVD. It has the full interogation song. You can also watch the extended version of the song on UA-cam.
Because it's an older property and they release new content inconsitently. Older Properties sometimes get less attention because there are so many new ones to watch. It was a mega hit in its heyday but its still beloved. You can say the same thing about Peanuts and Looney Tunes. Peanuts is one of the funniest comic strips I have ever read but most people just remember the Christmas special and the Halloween Special. Looney Tunes is super funny but CN stopped showing them so Gen Alpha is unfamiliar with the characters.
I’ve seen people recommending other muppet media in the comments but I like making lists so here’s my thoughts/ reviews on some other muppets stuff (this is totally just an excuse for me to info dump, feel free to ignore!) The Original Muppet movie: very good, it’s an origin story of how the muppets met, 10/10 recommend you watch it Muppets take manhattan: it’s on Netflix I think, also pretty good, but it’s been a while since I’ve watched it, introduced “the muppet babies” which might not be your cup of tea, but was fun to watch for me when I was little (I’m only 13 lmao) it also has Ms Piggy on roller skates. 8 1/2 /10 Muppet Christmas Carol: absolutely wonderful, I always have to watch it at Christmas time, Tumblr loves this movie, it’s just “a Christmas carol but the muppets” 10/10 Muppets Wizard of Oz: definitely a weird one, I like it, but I’m very biased, my mom’s favourite muppet movie, good luck finding it though, it’s practically gone except on dvd, it’s just “wizard of oz, but the muppets” and Pepe the king prawn is Toto 8/10 Fraggle Rock and the Fraggle Rock Reboot: haven’t watch them nearly as much as the muppet stuff, but they’re made by the same people, and it’s very cute, plus the doozers (small creatures who live with the Fraggle) have an animated spin-off show, which is good 9/10 Muppets In Space: a non-canon origin story for Gonzo (I said non-canon because Gonzo’s puppeteer has said he thinks it’s not canon) very wacky, again, I’m biased but I think it’s worth a watch because of how bizarre it is 8/10 Muppets ABC: pretty much a Muppets mockumentary about Piggy having a talk show, and Kermit running it, weird subplots, character writing is kinda bad, I recommend watch Athena P’s lore video on Ms piggy here on youtube to get a feel for the show, i call this one "the office but its the muppets", hints at Bunsen and Beaker (the scientists) being gay so thats cool imo 7/10 Jim Henson Hour: i think this was a passion project of Jim Henson's before he passed while making it, weird in a good way, has more skit segments, but also has "The Storyteller" which is worth the watch, and it introduces some good characters who never get used again in other muppets media 8/10 Great Muppet Caper: it’s been a minute since I’ve watched it, but it’s very good imo from what I remember 9/10 Muppet Treasure Island: it’s “treasure Island but with the muppets, and Tim Curry” 10/10 im not listing muppets family christmas or another muppet show that i cant remember the name of, because ive never watched muppet family christmas, and i forgot the name of the other one, which i also haven't watched lmao and I also haven’t watched the new Jim Henson documentary, but I’ve heard good things, and another good documentary is “Kevin Clash: a puppeteers journey” it’s about Elmo from Sesame Street, I think that’s the name but idk it’s been a while, very good tho, watched it on repeat when I was like 7 muppet babies and the reboot: good for kids, finding clips of the original is worth the watch imo, its cute, and nostalgic for me 6 1/2 /10 the Labyrinth and the Dark Crystal: both weird, no muppet characters like Kermit or Piggy, but once again, made by the same people, Labyrinth is my fave out of the two, i think both are on netflix but Disney + is also worth looking on, 9/10 for both tho Muppets Now!: made during COVID I think, it’s just skits like in the muppets show, but it’s kinda worse, 4/10 imo videos about the muppets:, Disney Dan's evolutions of muppet characters are good videos, Defunctland's videos, and Athena P's vid about The ABC show are all great and on UA-cam holy crap this is long, and i probably made spelling mistakes or fact mistakes, anyone in the comments feel free to correct me! thanks and props to you if you read this far, heres some digital food 🍏🍎🫐🥦🥕🥪🍔🍟🍕🌮🍨🍦🧁🍰🍩🍿🧃🥤🧋🍷🍹🥘🍲🍜🥗
Pretty much the whole point of my UA-cam channel is to unite the cartoon, anime, muppet/puppetry and gaming community and make memes I wish the muppets where as main stream as they where pre 2000s but I kinda blame Disney as they have no idea what to do with them yet they refuse to sell them to a company who does
Bruh, I made a whole list of ‘em, it’s just muppet fan nature ig 😭 it’s a bit of an underrated fandom so when a new fan joins, we all try to make suggestions for more stuff they might not know about yet 🤷🏾♀️
If you want super obscure great Muppet stuff I'd recommend The Jim Henson Hour. Only lasted 12 episodes. It combined new Muppet skits and stories from previous series The Storyteller. There's one episode where Jim takes us behind the scenes into how the Muppets worked. It's all on youtube. My fav all time Muppet character Digit is in this series.
I’ve said this on other muppet essay videos. If Muppets Most Wanted hadn’t done so poorly financially, we’d have had more theatrically released Muppet movies by now. It’s been 10 years since the last movie that went to theaters. And the Disney era of Muppet movies ended before it really got going. We only got The Muppets (2011) and Muppets Most Wanted. There should be a third movie to round out the trilogy like the other 2 eras. But no unfortunately.
I wanted to talk about points in the vid. Jim and his company owned the rights to the Sesame characters until the early 2000’s. Lots of Sesame characters are in the muppet movies from back when Jim was alive. Big Bird has a speaking role in The Muppet Movie, and the others are in that last big glorious shot. Oscar appears with Peter Ustinov (Lots of celebs and Muppet Show guest stars appeared in the first two Muppet movies) and Muppets appear in TMTM (Pre-Elmo! Yay!) Statler and Waldorf weren’t technically created for what they would become. Comedy duos similar to what they would become were very popular at the time, and Statler and Waldorf simply integrated into these roles. While Muppets Mayhem isn’t all that good, cause Disney hates the Muppets, it expands on the characters in ways only it could. Also, the muppets + Minecraft concert. Bizarre, and not in a good way. But hey, they got Bilbo Baggins in that episode, so very few complaints. The introduction of new technology in the series was just bad in my opinion, especially with the effects it would have on the characters in later episodes. I think Moog and JJ’s dynamic is similarly close to the fans and Disney. Moog represents the fans, and JJ represents Disney. Not sure if this was done intentionally, but it’s still funny and angering. Bill Barretta, who plays Pepe, Teeth, Rowlf, and others, was also part of the writing team for Muppets Haunted Mansion and Mayhem. 😅 At this point, I am once again going on a tangent. I do it way too often.
I am similar to you. I was born in the late 90s. I was always vaguely aware of who the Muppets were. I grew up on Sesame Street and I had the Muppets Classic Fairy Tales tape I watched constantly. I watched Muppets Wizard of Oz Once and had a Muppet babies tape. I watched the 2011 Muppet Movie and Muppets Most Wanted and got hooked. When I was like 12 or 13. I eventually started watching the original Muppet Show and every episode had me cracking up.
The 2012 muppets movie won an oscar for am I man or a muppet. It is a really good song that has deeper meaning about questioning your own masculinity or feminity.
The main guest i knew from season one was Vincent Price but ive definitely learned about a lot of older celebroties throufh watching The Muppet Show. I have to disagree btw Pigs in Space and Veternarian Hospital are classics lol. To be fair i love the absurd weird stuff in The Muppet Show
I did see the Vincent Price episode and my review is: I don't remember anything about it :/ And fair enough about the skits, they just didn't hit for me for me I guess
@@beffjezos130 I mean fair enough, The Muppet Show was never meant to be watched in close succession so they can blur a bit. You at least familiar with who Price is?
I've been somewhat interested in watching it, it sounds like the kind of thing I might like, just never got around to it. I guess I could... like... watch it on youtube...
If Bob Iger hates the Muppets so much, then why didn't he sell the Muppets Studio to the Jim Henson Company?
I mean, they kept “song of freedoms” (the anti-PDF movie, recommend watching ) up the shelves for years after buying it as well.
If it wasn’t Disney not doing so well recently, I doubt that they will even sell it to collect money.
Because He thinks they don't deserve freedom.

Oh my goodness Kermit it's such an honor
the electric mayhem's members are dr teeth, zoot, Sergeant Floyd pepper, Janice, Lips, and animal
I often wonder the same thing.

Yes.....YES
Not with Matt Vogel as Kermit. We need Steve whitmire back

had to skip the intro before i started to cry again for the 3rd time this week (just saw the jim henson doc)
I was really proud of that, felt like I had to do something special to make it stand out
I’ve seen people recommending other muppet media in the comments but I like making lists so here’s my thoughts/ reviews on some other muppets stuff (this is totally just an excuse for me to info dump, feel free to ignore!)
The Original Muppet movie: very good, it’s an origin story of how the muppets met, 10/10 recommend you watch it

Great Muppet Caper: it’s been a minute since I’ve watched it, but it’s very good imo from what I remember 9/10
Muppet Treasure Island: it’s “treasure Island but with the muppets, and Tim Curry” 10/10
im not listing muppets family christmas or another muppet show that i cant remember the name of, because ive never watched muppet family christmas, and i forgot the name of the other one, which i also haven't watched lmao and I also haven’t watched the new Jim Henson documentary, but I’ve heard good things, and another good documentary is “Kevin Clash: a puppeteers journey” it’s about Elmo from Sesame Street, I think that’s the name but idk it’s been a while, very good tho, watched it on repeat when I was like 7

Muppets Now!: made during COVID I think, it’s just skits like in the muppets show, but it’s kinda worse, 4/10 imo
videos about the muppets:, Disney Dan's evolutions of muppet characters are good videos, Defunctland's videos, and Athena P's vid about The ABC show are all great and on UA-cam

I've also been looking for a recording of the "At The Dance" music. I know it was written by Joe Raposo.
Great video and in answer to your question no idea why Bob iger hates the muppets
Good times with scar got vietman flashbacks 14 minutes in also you need to watch the origonal 3 muppet films
The 2012 muppets movie won an oscar for am I man or a muppet. It is a really good song that has deeper meaning about questioning your own masculinity or feminity.
Man or muppet is a transgender allegory in this essay I will
@memesoverdreams3969 I didn't not percieve it that way but i see where you're coming from also could be seen as question who you are as person
the muppet show was the most popular show in the world at one point

REAL!!
Three of his songs? If you watched Lion King, then you know more then just three of his songs.
I did realize after the upload that I know more but I hadn't been actively listening to them until then.
7:14 bro what? You've been interested in SNL, but you've never seen SNL?
I've been somewhat interested in watching it, it sounds like the kind of thing I might like, just never got around to it. I guess I could... like... watch it on youtube...
muppets are overrated and stupid. They should have been cancelled years ago
