If you've been around this planet for awhile, sometimes you can tell just by the poster if the movie is gonna be bad.
You can tell immediately the only selling point for this movie is "women". That's it. That's the whole thing. It will bomb and sexism will be blamed, eventhough women don't want to watch it either.

@@madkoala2130 From what I've heard the movie's message is actually about the main character rejecting tradition but ends up emotional hurt by over sexualizing herself. The problem was actually with the marketing that seemed be softcore garbage on the posters. Read the wiki for thhe plot summary; very different message from what people think.

Then proceeds to have scene after scene of brutal, gory killing.
That's what some people who have watched Cuties said feels like. Just because the creators panic include "hey this is actually saying its bad", doesn't make it any less egregious

One Punch Man season 1 nailed the superhero parody thing already. If you haven’t seen it yet go watch it. Total gem.

Then read the Manga after Season 1 because the Animation in season 2 is such a turn off. The manga animates it better than the animation in season 2
When someone talks about how "courageous" a movie is, that's the hint that the movie is trash.
The rating on Netflix doesn't even have anything to do with whether it's good or not. The number corresponds to how close the Netflix algorithm thinks the movie/show is to your tastes. Even then, it's completely wrong most of the time.

She actually played one movie that's not 'I'm the fat comedy relieve person' which I think was 'Mommy' where she plays a psychopathic older woman befriending a group of teens and in the end tortures them coz their parents made her life in school miserable. Have only watched fragments but from those fragments it's a pretty decent B-movie. Not particularly good, but not particularly bad either.

@@dieling9807 True but I will say that is a bit different. As both of them are actors as well and both of them were in the film together. Not to mention Blunt and Krasinski are both really talented. While the other husband and wife combo have if they are lucky one good film to their names if that. Like Milla I think has some talent but that's pretty much only resulted in her being in one good film which is the 5th Element. I also enjoyed the film The Perfect Getaway but not sure if I would say that is a good film and I mostly just liked it for Timothy Olyphant.

Thank you for saving my family from this movie. My husband and kids would have never allowed me to choose another movie again because I fall for the whole #1 movie on Netflix thing.

In fairness and to an extant, I can see having heroes/role models that have different body types (it's not solely tied to health. It can be genetic and other reasons). Plus, it can help make for more diverse storytelling/characters. However, trying to present being fat (as in the gut and due to bad health/lifestyle choices) as good is worrying as it could endanger other people.
Even if it is unfunny this movie was meant as a comedy not a serious superhero movie. The joke is that she's fat. As is the joke in everything she stars in... This wasn't trying to be a role model movie lol. Tell me one single superhero in the current MCU or DCU who doesn't look like an athlete or supermodel. (Thor doesn't count because him being fat was both for comedic effect as well as showing how far he's fallen into a depressive state, it was never meant to be inspiring). Those are the superheroes kids are growing up with.

This film could have work better if they had more weird villains like the crab dude and actually make them work together. They just had Melissa McCarthy do all the work so what’s the point of having a duo?? I really hope someone does a movie with this premise of normal people getting weird super powers. It can make for a good comedy movie.
So basically, this movie is the embodiment of the phrase "I've fallen and I can't get up", as well the dethklok song "thunderhorse" if it were trying to being dead serious.

Octavia Spencer seemed like she didn’t want to be there, but owed someone a big favor. The writing was so bad you could almost see the cringes on the actors faces after they said their lines.

The first few seconds of the trailer was when I was done.
The differences between Jason and Melissa doing the same character are that it still works for him (probably because his isn't an overbearing character) and he actually branches out more often.
There's always an appreciation for a guy who can pepper in a good joke-but there's never a need for an over the top person desperately trying for laughs.
He can play dark characters in The Gift and probably Ozark.
Jason Bateman was the best part of this movie, hands down!

I feel like a lot of netflix content is not actively watched, even if it runs. People use netflix for background noise and then these movies are perfect. You don't have to pay attention to anything, it will not get overly sad, everything has no corners ... background noise.
I saw the trailer on Netflix and it was barely watchable so I don’t even want to fathom how hard this was to watch

I couldnt even make it past the 45 minute mark with this one.
And im learning that anything Netflix puts up with the label "#1 in the US", is a LIE and should be AVOIDED at all costs.....
The issues with the jokes is they have no set up or payoff. They come and go. Think of any good comedy, there’s always a set up for every joke so it blends well into film and don’t linger for too long
I especially like the surprise double payoff. You know, like when you think you got the payoff, but then later they take the setup from earlier to deliver a payoff you didn't see coming at all.
