I really doight the grate bail works at all...idk everytime I had to bail and I tested it even in super light situation only let a little watter in 1 small hole patched it and only enough to get rid of all watter with 1 bail...then I tryed it out bailed through grate and every time the watter would just go back into the ship...idk maybe I'm doing something wrong when I bail through grate but it just never seams to work for me and always seasm to be better to just go to the stairs and bailout the and off at the stairs.
That example I provided is actually a pretty niche scenario, let me explain. I didn't hammer it home in the video, but one of the main reasons you go for a board on Galleon vs Galleon fights is literally to just get their Helm off of cannons. If the enemy crew has flex and bilge down below, and their MC and helm topdeck shooting, then they have 2 people topdeck (obviously) --- And 2 people topdeck can easily put in enough lowerdeck holes to FORCE a flex and bilge down below if they have enough time. But if you send your MC over to the enemy crew, now their Helm HAS to get off of cannons to watch ladders, meaning that now they only have MC on cannons (1 person.) But here's the "niche" part. Yes you are correct, normally flex is the main boarder and MC is secondary. In this niche example I gave at 16:53, the scenario was: **Flex and bilge are down below, while MC and Helm are uptop** In this scenario, Flex was about to be topdeck because bilge was able to catch up with the holes, but he still had to be down below for another 10-15 seconds. So in this example, instead of WAITING for those 10-15 seconds for flex to be topdeck, you send MC over now. Reason being, if you WAIT for this 10-15 seconds, good crews will probably put in more holes into you during that time, so now Flex will be forced to stay down and will not actually be going up top. But if you send MC over, then the enemy crew's helm WILL be forced off of cannons in order to watch boarders, so with only MC on the cannons there's very little chance that 1 guy will be able to pump in enough holes to keep both your flex and bilge down below. ANYWAYS. That was all a little advanced and just a little too niche. Yes you are correct, flex is normally the main boarder and MC is secondary in most situations.
@@kaijoi8938thank you for the reply! All of that makes sense. One last clarifying question, is flex the second border coming over in this scenario? With Helm and bilge on cannons?
Just a quick note camping captains with most good crews will do nothing as anchor or wheel is key yes you need to live but if they are fine and you are a team-mate down then they will just win
This is true. If you go for a board and your MC and Helm fail to continue the lower pressure, then the enemy team can recover, send their flex up, and now they have 3 people topdeck. But if you're in a situation where their flex and bilge are down, and you only have bilge down, then it's a 3v2 on cannons in favor of you. So sending the boarder, where now their helm HAS TO WATCH YOU, now makes it a 2v1 on the cannonline. And 1 guy cannot hit enough lowers to keep your MC and BILGE down forever. As long as your MC and Helm are occasionally shooting the other crew's MC and keeping him in check (and hitting lowers) then you playing captain's and hiding is always a good thing.
Also if the enemy does this alot take a few steps back and allow the border to go through the animation (like just off the ladder) the Blunderbuss as a boarder to counter this is barely peek a bit over board and drop a little bit to check for a guard if no one get on and refer to the video
@@rambo-cambo3581no he means the ones who don't move and shoot you repeatedly without going anywhere. I've seen them myself. They just keep shooting at you from the middle of the ladder when you try to shoot them.
The Strat called lazy board doesn’t work against good crews as they will always watch how many are on cannon line and if only 3 people are shooting in the opening broad the helm will react
It doesn’t **always** work against good crews. Correct. Luckily even if you do get guarded and they kill you, then your boat is still super far away that your helm can just peel off of the fight and reset it.
@@kaijoi8938did not think about long range still it is not a good strategy seeing how the opening broad usually is the decider of a match but gotta say I agree with the whole video just a shame 90% off people still won’t understand the distinction part. Seeing as it relieves pressure for ur bilge. Tho I have seen crews and my crew to only have one guard the boarder in quarters and keep shooting and communication his location so the people on canons can go off them when he’s a threat do I do understand that getting rid of the boarder is more important. Another thing I think u missed is when to board. It is helms call but boarding when ur boat has a lot of pressure can be good but is risky so boarding when flex is up is usually a good play. And shooting out just to blunder back and then merm back is also a good thing to do.

What about how to close out a fight? Like my duo and I crept up on a Reaper 5 at FOTD, absolutely blasted them with cannons and fire bombs, boarded, killed them, they spawned and somehow was able to repair their ship and would not die despite numerous EoR and Blunderbuss shots and we ended up losing to them like ???
Well, I’m assuming this Reaper 5 was a galleon. Now with galleons, “blasting them with firebombs and cannonballs” doesn’t actually do anything. Hitting lower deck holes into their ship does. I’d have to see the VoD to know for sure, but it sounds like you guys didn’t have any lower deck pressure onto the enemy boat, so they had time to respawn and kill you. If they had 8 tier 3 holes at the bottom of their boat, then they would’ve sunk immediately. So hit more lowerdeck holes next time before you BOTH go for a board. Now if it wasn’t a galleon and it was just a sloop or brigantine, same rules apply. 1 of you can go for a board, but the other one needs to stay on your ship pounding lowerdeck holes into the enemy boat to sink them. Firebombs take 2 minutes to produce a hole, and the 2 holes it does produce takes SO long to sink them that it doesn’t matter.
I more often than not lose 1v1s. A lot has to do with poor decision making I’m sure. What are some things I can do to land my shots and clap pirate cheeks?

I just get spawn camped till I sink while they laugh. Being a runner is more fun for this reason. I like to just troll pvp'ers, (especially lvl 5 reapers) by placing crap cheap loot up front on my ship for all to see so they chase me for as long as possible. My record is just over 2 hrs, and all they would have got was around 1.5k worth of loot, but they didn't get a thing or even get the kill as I cannoned off my ship to an island before they finally boarded me, luckily found a powder keg, swam out under their ship while they were looking for me and...💣💥 😂 You want my loot, I promise you're gonna work hard af for it, and you'll get basically sfa for your time and effort if you do get it. If you truly believe that then I’m sorry. Now I agree that as for MOVEMENT strategies on a sloop and brigantine, I didn’t explain as in-depth it as Galleon. For example, on sloop you can stand in ammo crate and grab the ladder through the window to juke the enemy crew. Or how you can snipe people who are on wheel if you stand behind map table on a sloop. So yes. When it comes to “The Boat” fight, yes it wasn’t the absolutely BEST when it comes to sloop and brigantine. However in terms of it being “completely useless” as you put it, is wrong. The Damage and Water fight is still the exact same thing and can be applied to all ship types. Your first goal is still to “Not Die” and your job is to distract the enemy crew by turning their wheel, dropping their anchor, and sniping them from the water. But also, the “movement” on a sloop and brigantine is so much less than a galleon. Since a galleon is SO MUCH BIGGER than a sloop and brigantine, there’s obviously going to be more movement strategies to talk about on the galleon. So like I said, if you’re simply talking about “The Boat” stage tactics and strategies, I agree I did not go as in-depth and explain all the different kinds of movement techniques like I did on Galleon. However to say something like “This video is completely useless” is such a silly thing to say since the Damage and Water phase applies to all ship types. And the skills I did show on sloop and brigantine are still valuable.
This is amateur tier boarding. A good boarder isn’t even noticed and gets away scot free loot and all. What you’re doing is just your typical sea dog boarding everyone can do. Show me real skill, boy!

Its impossible to find anyone to play with in the sot discord because the moment they join they go "uhm 100 ping?" Then leave and ghost you
I'd say a good 50% of the people I play with are in the SoT official discord. Although I only join when they ask for 1k hours or 500+ allegiance, so it does make my life slightly easier.
@kaijoi8938 not much of a point cuz I'm only 100 hours in and haven't played much hg so not a lot wants to play
I believe. Just record your gameplay and have someone vod review it. That’s the best way to get better fast.
damn. can u both review some bitches?
@@rain.l4621have u tried doing open crew ? gives u a random player i met some good ppl that way

@@kaijoi8938I feel seen
What's Massari doing in this video he's just a bot LOL
Rude. Literally no reason to say that kind of thing.
@@kaijoi8938 Nah I have reasoning, I know him lol but I'm actually just joking. That's something he'd say if he saw me to be honest but anyway I'd rather play games with him than joining randoms for a fight that's for sure. 🤣
I'm fairly new to SoT, and tbh, pvp in this game is a lot of work. I mean, I don't put this much effort into real life. 😅
Plus, all the og pvp crowd and hg sweats have played for years and know too many tricks and exploits for a noob to bother with. I just get spawn camped till I sink while they laugh.
Being a runner is more fun for this reason. I like to just troll pvp'ers, (especially lvl 5 reapers) by placing crap cheap loot up front on my ship for all to see so they chase me for as long as possible.
My record is just over 2 hrs, and all they would have got was around 1.5k worth of loot, but they didn't get a thing or even get the kill as I cannoned off my ship to an island before they finally boarded me, luckily found a powder keg, swam out under their ship while they were looking for me and...💣💥 😂
You want my loot, I promise you're gonna work hard af for it, and you'll get basically sfa for your time and effort if you do get it.
Bett imma have my fun though. So gg's and all that. 😂
Nice.
Ok, I will not die lol
On one hand I’m happy to see more people that are good at SoT come from this video.
And on the other hand I’m going to fight better people because of this video
Find the new way to silent board each patch. The end.
I don't need to silent board when I have a grapple hook. The end.
Crazy vid
what is BSG
BSG = Blue Sail Gang
I fought u bout a month ago travesty if u remember was a gally fight
dont die got it
It’s crazy how big the skill curve is in this game.
One of the best gamers that taught me cannons learned from BSG tutorials!
Doesn't sound like me. My tutorials are made sarcastically, and I will not be held liable for any losses incurred in hourglass.
it’s called play the game and learn
That’s so true king. Tutorials are bogus anyway.
Ldg and soap needs to watch this now sold me last night i was the boat bitch
finally!!!
sadly this really good guide becomes less helpfull once the stupid harpoon gun gets added and every noob can freely spam swarm ur deck without any skill for boarding needed anymore but great video good explaining :)
Harpoon gun is a great addition! I hate people who use blunder bombs for ladder guarding it's so cringe

HI :)
Ermm it’s called fatwalking not funny boarding smh my head
This video is basically how to board only a GALLEON. You said almost nothing about sloop and brig, so this video is completely useless.
And the skills I did show on sloop and brigantine are still valuable.
god sea of theives naval fights are so boring
Sea of thieves is boring*
This is amateur tier boarding. A good boarder isn’t even noticed and gets away scot free loot and all. What you’re doing is just your typical sea dog boarding everyone can do.
Show me real skill, boy!
Goodluck!
So you make a whole vid about a scenario when enemy ship is already not moving?
Bruh...
Uhhhhhhhhhh……………
Goodluck!
