about repairing wheel, you repair only 1 or 3 on a sloop but on brig and gally you do that only if both boats are stationary. if someone's doing a circle on you you often need at least 2 planks on wheel to keep angle (especially that on gally when back mast is down it blocks shots going to helm)
When someone's clearly better in combat i just run and when I can't run away, i run into a nearest reaper, world event and if that doesn't then i sail into the red sea.

wth this guide was SO good. My crewmate always trys to cooridnate cross-snipes, but he usually does it whenever I'm not ready or available, so it never usually works. The only time we actually get a kill like that is when we both snipe at the same time without even communicating to each other. XD
Hey new PS5 player here, this guide is really useful and I love how in depth the left vs right side of the ship was, I'm the helm for my sloop and I find the enemy circling us and not the other way around so I need to get better
Parallels tend to result in two boats travelling at full sail. This means that both boats are travelling with lots of waves, and generally randomly shooting cannons because of the effect of the waves rocking the cannons up and down, (which affects the trajectory of the cannonballs)
It turns out that I've learned to do a lot of these things after 400 hours of SoT, but I still learned something new. Didn't know left side has less holes. I've also learned that for all the skill I've acquired, there's always a better pirate 😂

I was really hoping you would put this in there but when you are holding helm keep the enemy boat in line with the lantern on the side of your ship or as close to it as you can.
