What? The schoolbocks I have and the lessons that I was able to witness never painted the Weimar Republic in a "good" light, but rather in a neutral one. A new republic that had many issues to deal with and that wasn't able to completely overcome them in the end. The democracy of the Weimar Republic was flawed (see Artikel 48 der Weimarer Reichsverfassung), it was plagued by a political elite that was not only very conservative, but also not a fan of the democrarcy (e.g. Kabniett der Baronen, as well as Hindenburg himself) and last, but not least the Weimar Republic was plagued with a lot of problems, be it violent confrontations between the paramilitary groups from left or right, the Great Depression or the hyperinflation in the early 20's.
