Things just keep sliding off my flat surface…? 😂😂 .Sadness comes in many forms. It’s how we deal with it is what counts . Great video and thank you , God Bless
Good to see it humming again. Those spring-loaded belt tensioners can be world-class finger pinchers!!! That little 550 would purr right along with that mower.
🤠🛠👍👍👍 Great Video. Great People always ask me what I do with all the time I have now that I'm retired. Since I now can't afford the "stealer" repair prices, I have to do all the repairs myself, and yes, this is similar to how I spend my days! Thanks. Appreciated the knowledge and humor.
Aww the great Chinesium steel sold at your friendly neighborhood “farm store”. What a great country we live in 🤣. Nice video Ross. I’ve done the same thing with a spindle like you did thinking I could just rebuild it only to go find out you just buy the whole thing 😂. P.S. I loved the behind the scenes look from your cousin’s video 🤣🤣. Glad you got him to flip his phone over for the footage 👍🏻
And that's why you don't use an impact on those small bolts putting them back in... I feel your pain Ross, I learned that lesson a very very long time ago. Besides, some of the woods mowers were cheaply made. I never cared for those "split collars" that wedge in the spindle hubs, to "iffy" at best. Cheers :)
Lol. I was giving you the benefit of doubt. But then you said 7/16 wrench. That impact on a 1/4 in bolt. 🤦♂️🤦♂️ Nice rant though. Haven’t heard that in a while. Another fine finish to a job. 👌
In the confessional Father said: Son, God first created hands, then he created tools for those hands to use. Then the Devil created power tools to break off bolts at the most inopportune times to cause great pain and problems. The Devil says that man is not supposed to make flat rate time.
@@rosstheoliverman We were told in Service School at IH's northern IL farm equipment servicing school, and earth moving demonstration grounds, how the flat rate was set. Their service school instructors did the job 5 times, were timed and the average time was the recorded flat rate. Any items on the way to the empty frame were noted and when reassembly was going on each of the items was timed all the way back to the wheels, hoods and etc. were back on and the tractor was ready to go again. Then they repeated the job, 5 times in total. I would have loved having done a job 5 times so I could have made a flat rate. One had to be inventive in filing the warranty claims to even get close to the set flat rate the first time one worked on a new piece of equipment. One instructor named Larry Love (really) was a crazy SOB but in a fun way. He had innovative ways to wake all of us college instructors up in the morning. One morning he had a backhoe and was banging the bucket on the parking spaces in front of the motel-like structure they had to house trainees. He was also the one, when some guy writing down the procedure and tools needed to do a flat rate job, wrote down the special tool that Larry used to remove a stubborn bearing. Larry said he was going to use the BFH 101 tool. It went into the repair manual and the dealers had a ball ordering the special tool BFH 101.

Trouble with power tools is that you don't get feedback thru your hand to your brain. We all know that speed kills; but the temptation to use power is overwhelming. I think the sounds of farm animals thru out the vid gives the process a taint of realism. :)
Need some cow bell to go with the farmyard noises
🤣🤣🤣 more cowbell!!!
Nice Job your uncle will be happy

These 2 videos were what I needed to see as I've got to replace the middle spindle too. Enjoyed your humor, thanks for making these.
Glad it helped! Thanks Allen!
Job well done,I remember those mowers they do a great job when everything is in good order
It seems to do a great job for him and it gives the little Tractor something to do
I always use a little anti seize on those taper locks
I used grease but next time i think I’ll try that!
Good to see it humming again. Those spring-loaded belt tensioners can be world-class finger pinchers!!! That little 550 would purr right along with that mower.
Yeah, the 550 would be a good match for that thing. I almost bought one to mow my yard with, but then ended up buying a zero turn.

He did.

Ross that spindle is fighting every bit of the way. Thanks Michael
🤣 Thanks Michael!
It would be a miracle if I was able to work smart but once in awhile I surprise myself.
🤣🤣🤣
Great video. Running like a champ again. Beautiful thing seeing the old ollie working it. Thank you.
Thanks Keith!
Time to change the name of your channel to Ross the safety man 😁
🤣🤣🤣
So, what I’ve done - I’ve spent a great deal of my time, in a bizarre way, trying to put the world back together again
If you like your insurance you can keep it

I was hoping maybe life would throw me a bone, but I knew better 🤣
Wow! I can’t believe you actually used a grease gun. Finally
I use it all the time, just not on film 🤣

This Whole affair reminds me of rebuilding my Caroni 72" finish mower except i had to rebuild the gear box too .
His gearbox looks a little wet I am wondering if it will need attention soon as well.
@@rosstheoliverman I did Bearings and Seals in mine and it has worked good for 2 years now. Sure sucks when they go out
The spindle assembly cost $320. The belt was $98. It runs much more better now. Thanks!
I was thinking to myself. "self there's no way that spindle from Woods was less than $100"
Wow! I figured it was around 100 bucks, I can’t believe they charged over $300 for that.
There always a herd of farm animals just outside the camera range! Lmao
🤣🤣🤣

Sometimes I wonder how they came up with the flat rate time
