I've just come across this video, absolutely loved it thanks. I've done a little of your route, Carsington up to Parsley Hay and back along the Tissington to Tissington station and then back to Carsington via Bradbourne. Lovely area and great for the cycling. Anyhow you've got yourself a new subscriber.
@chrisshubotham3732 Chris thank you so much. I need a bit of positivity re: YT today . There's loads of gravel type riding in the Peaks. Lucky you. You've got it all to explore.
Nice video Julie, thanks. I know a lot of parts of that route but never thought about putting them together like you did. Looked tough in parts but brilliant non the less 👏🏼
Julie QUESTION on camping…. I will be heading up on train so a campsite near to start or few miles in would be a bonus if you know any. Then can be up early to set off. Thank you ❤
www.birchwoodfarm.co.uk/ -you need to book in advance . There is a route near the start of the High Peak Trail. Begin up the incline. Take the track on the left through the first break in the wall (track marked as white on the OS map) Keep left at the top where track levels out. You will eventually see campsite access on your right. www.tannenbaumcampsite.co.uk/ - wonderful but 3 miles away from Blackrocks Carpark on the High peak Trail
Enjoyed that video looks like an overnight us pensioners might have a go at in the near future, if we wanted to do it using a cheap b and b is there somewhere that would work best on the route. It would just mean we could travel really light thanks
Hi. I think your best bet would be Castleton or Hope. There will be multiple options there. That will make the milage split more even, rather than the 61/40 that I did. If you do it let us know how it goes!
One thing I'm interested hearing on from you and other subscribers Julie is what do you do about bike security during the night at a camp site? Do you just risk the bike unlocked outside the tent?
I try to lock it to a fence , pole etc and camp near it. . In the next few weeks I plan to do a video about a tarp tent which you may be able to put the bike in. I am waiting for it to arrive and try it out. Sorry for the late response.
@@JuliePhelanExplore you don't have to apologise, I appreciate the help. I saw someone online mentioning removing the thru axles/QRs (and popping them in the tent) and chaining together the bits. Unless they are like the Del boy of thru axles its unlikely they will have spares on them in their coat 😂😂 Taking my daughter on the Lady Bower loop you did this weekend coming, got the GPX on the garmin and she is very excited! 👍 Keep up the great work, love the channel and content. Very refreshing over the bigger channels I have to say where everything is sponsor related.
Thanks Sam. I'd like it to be a bigger channel but even if it was , honesty is everything. I can't recommend something I wouldn't use myself. Enjoy the ride with your daughter . Take care and have fun.
Hi Julie. I see you used komoot, can you share your route? I would love to follow your map, over 3 days as I'm more a slower keep stopping kind of cyclist lol will be 66 when I hopefully try to complete it. Thanks
