IT WAS BONKERS! Llyn Brenig UCI Gravel World Series 2024
Here's my video about the recent Llyn Brenig UCI gravel race, organised by Glorious Gravel. The course was 111kms long with roughly 2000ms of climbing. The course was great, but atrocious weather conditions made the whole event a challenge, particularly for those with the later start times, i.e me lol !
Don't be put off! Sometimes things happen and allow us to find out what we're really 'made of'! Am I pleased with what I achieved finishing second? Well clearly I am a 'tough old bird' who doesn't know when to stop lol! Are you like that too? If so put a note in the comments below the video.
'What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger!'
Enjoy!

Is the Sonder Sedona Your Next Gravel Crusher? Six Months Review!

Six months on, do I love this bike? Well clearly I do, because it suits my style of riding and enables me to do the things I love. I have a couple of gravel races planned and this bike is ideal for this. The rider's position on the bike is similar to that of a cross or road bike. It's versatility 'hits so many buttons.' If you prefer to carry more kit and cover more distance, take a look at the...

Before I go into the fine details I just want to say that this is a stunning, exciting route. It has easy bits, it has hard bits but I absolutely loved it! It's a challenging 43 miles long with 4875ft of climbing. Clearly it does require a reasonable level of fitness and good off-road skills. I rode round on 40mm tyres, despite it having a few short sections of very rough terrain. If you're in ...

Pushed on got really wet, really cold, and really muddy. I also crashed towards the end. Silly mistake putting sunglasses into pocket as they were covered in mud. The front wheel just touched the grass off the tarmac, and down I went. It probably happened because I was cold and not concentrating enough. Nothing serious and nothing broken on the bike. The additional drag of 45mm makes pedalling up steeper hills harder. What you have you ask yourself is' what am I going to use this bike for ?' If it's going to be very multipurpose, go for 2x. Bloody hell Julie 😎 needed a sun glasses alert for that shirt you were wearing!😎 That looked an amazing ride. 42 miles over various types of terrain, steep ups and downs, well done! An excellent post as usual, interesting, fun, and inspiring..all topped off with your infectious exuberance. Well done! Take care Julie, and as always, a shout out to the editor😎👍
