Just found your channel today. If I can, I'm going to bring my 2006 Ford Fusion, which is my 'tinkering' car. I think your Dad is great; he reminds me of my Grandad, who was an engineer and inspired my love of engineering. I genuinely couldn't afford to pay a garage to fix our cars, and I will fix them as long as I can.
Hi guys. Thanks for the lovely comments about my 1959 vauxhall Cresta pa. Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you both and have a chat about it. It was a long journey for us from Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire but she drove great. It got a lot of attention and I was thrilled to receive Steph's award as the car she'd like to take home. Take care Stuart.
Hi Jon and Pete a brilliant pistons as ever and I think Ian Carly Steph and Matt have done a great job with rustival and trying to be inclusive and respect all classic cars and testimony to this is the amazing turnout and range of cars and how everyone seemed welcome and enjoyed their day long may it continue! All the best Daniel
I visited the show, didn't go to the first time, and was very impressed. The location was great, you could go off and explore the museum in addition to looking at the show and make a nice day out. I did, however, get a speeding ticket on the way home. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for Rustival3 tickets.
I agree with you both. My daily is a near 20 year old Volvo S60 that I’ve banged 60k faultless miles on in 4.5 years. Comfy, fast and is fairly economical on a run. I’ve showed it at both Rustivals. What a car. Why would I want something new? 😊
It's funny. I thought you'd had a massive upgrade being parked right in front of the main stage. It was pretty much the pin up car of Rustival by basically showing that everything from a Ferrari to a K11 Micra would be welcome. Then the Micra was the one that caused more stir. That made me happy. Always a pleasure chaps and just a wonderful, sociable event where everyone makes time to chat. Hopefully we'll see you at Rustival 3. As long as your dad keeps eating Sardines I'm sure he'll be there. Car of the show for me was the Skoda Estelle that had rolled
If you’re talking about pricing at Festival of the Unexceptional, you have to consider if the profits go towards the upkeep etc. of the magnificent hall and gardens… hopefully a lot of it does.
“Bangernomics” I cannot agree more; as daily I’m running a 2008 Polo, 2009 Audi A6 Allroad & a A3 2010 cabrio. Newer model do not aspire to me for a lot of reasons. Oh and a ‘76 VW bus and a ‘79 1303 cabrio….. (but hey don’t see any salt). If I see what I could buy from VAG as new replacement I’m not interested thank you very much…
@JonCoupland can get that, living in south of France actually and when going to the Netherlands to visit my family I admit that it's a long drive if you're alone. I always have the cat while travelling
Thanks for watching this latest Pistons The Podcast Episode - sorry its a wee bit late. Did you attend?
