    Thanks for the video, the way you showed people how to centre a laser is way better than many others. Being a noob myself
    (2 days) I was getting confused with the way many others were showing how to do it. Yours was simple, straight to the point and easy to follow. Thanks a lot.

    I went out and tried this as soon as i finished you video. My screen saver came on after 10 minutes which stopped the laser. I was able to hit origin and turned off the layers that had completed then started the program again and it worked great. thank you

    Donyou have a video showing how you made the grid that is on your laser bed? Great video. Very helpful.
    I also have issues with laser printing text backwords. Thank you

    • @LaserNoob
      @LaserNoob  2 місяці тому

      I bought the grid somewhere on etsy a very long time ago. As far as the text issue, are you trying to do it backwards or is the laser doing it when it's not supposed to?

    Good short video, with just what one needs. I do have a question. I think my off set from the BIG RED X to where the laser starts is off just a little. How do I fix that?
    Thanks, keep up with the great videos.

      Hey Dave, thanks for the kudos. I am out of the shop for the night, but I will get back with you in the morning!

      Dave, in lightburn, my offset is -16.00mm on the X axis and 0.00 on the Y. If you take a piece of scrap wood and center your crosshairs at one point, then burn a straight vertical line. Measure the distance from the crosshair point to the line and that should give you your desired offset. So if it's 2mm off, instead of -16mm it would be either -14 or -18. -18 moves it left and -14 moves it right.

    great video. I followed what you did and for some reason after I have set origin and set the offset when I press goto origin it moves to another location (50mm down or to the right). Also, when I click on frame it goes all the way to the right and stops once it goes to far against the frame...any idea what settings might be jacked up? Thanks in advance!

    Why do you use the move buttons to move the laser instead of doing it by hand? Also, what kind of laser goggles do you use? Thanks!

    • @LaserNoob
      @LaserNoob  Рік тому +1

      I do both. But using the move buttons, and starting from the home position, lightburn knows exactly where the laser module is and I can use the Go To Origin button and set an end position. This makes it super easy to do multiple items and know they are centered on each burn. Check out my reusable template video. Here is the link to my safety glasses: amzn.to/3sKXJwA

    I burn things all over the work area. Frame it and go. I rarely have to center anything. I did make a wooden "L" shaped square for the left and front. Hot glued it down to the cooling rack from Walmart. Yes, I had to make sure it was flat! I can pick up a large work piece, inspect the back if I need and put it back for another burn. The laser burns in the same place as before. Ok for laser burned projects. I wouldn't make semiconductors this way though..( work joke)

    So is there off sets somewhere? Is the cross hair or the end of the nozzle your center point?

    • @LaserNoob
      @LaserNoob  11 місяців тому

      On xtool, I use the crosshairs. Other lasers that do not have crosshairs, I fire the laser at 1 to 2 percent and position them that way.

    Okay but how do I get my atomstack to show me there the laser is via lightburn? I can get it to show me a centrepoint via the little controller but can’t find the setting on screen

    • @LaserNoob
      @LaserNoob  11 місяців тому +1

      If you enable the fire button in settings, then you can select fire during framing or turn the laser on at 1-2% by hitting the fire button in the "Move" panel.

    Using light burn, I have problems with centering. I manually put the laser in the center of my work piece, frame it and I use the pointer to make sure that it hits the corners, then frame it. I hot play and it goes off the edge on one side, it's not centering the art piece and then I give up.
