My face lights up right away once I've washed my face using riceeberry face wash from litttleextra. Then, I use simply Vitamin C serum and moisturiser, and it is done. It's important to choose the right face wash otherwise you won't see the glow you're aiming for.
This riceberryy face wash is highly effective for dry skin. From the first use, I noticed benefits in my face, such as acne reduction. It is effective when paired with a moisturiser.
Instead of having paid Allure/Cosmopolitan for years to get on their “best of skincare” lists, they should have invested in re formulating and adapting to a chemical exfoliant which is the market right now.
It's a shame. Their best products included a cornflower fragrance free moisturizer that felt luxurious AND had...Ingredients! friendly to sensitive skin. The scrub is actually great on feet :-) They should change the label!
I've been using curology since December and I think the best thing about it is that it helped me build a consistent routine that I didn't have before. I knew nothing about skincare and what you needed in a routine and curology is a simple enough routine that I think is good for introducing people to skincare. Plus, my skin has absolutely improved.
We need a second video with La Roche Posay, Naturium, CosRx, innisfree, Purito, Cetaphil, Body Shop, Clearasil, Nivea, La Mer, Kylie Skin, Drunk Elephant, Sunday Riley, NIOD, Hylamide, Simple, FaceTheory, Garnier, I'm From, Vichy, Murad, Aveeno, and Biossance!
Can you do a budget list, like "If I ONLY had 100 dollars this how I'd build my skincare as an oily person" type thing and then purchase everything morning and night in that budget. That would be so helpful!
I thought the same but then I thought red is a colour linked with hotness and passion and probably that? That he put the brands in red because he truly loves them
I've seen this same color-coded thing used before, and the colors completely throw me off since the category headings aren't big enough to read them on my phone. Seriously, dudes, change the freakin' colors!
Because the idea that green = good and red = bad is completely arbitrary. It's not written in stone, it's just commonly used but there's no objective reason why these colours should represent these exact things.

My recommendation: invest in some drugstore products but try to go for at least ONE decent-priced product. Even if your routine is 100% TO and you add a CeraVe cleanser, it'll help. I would also recommend you look into K-Beauty, as the products I've seen are some of the best. Check out Soko Glam or Stylevana :)
.....Am I the only one seriously bothered that the green and red are switched? Like Green is supposed to be good and the red is supposed to be bad? Edit: Why is everyone commenting on this 2 years later..?
For years, I was never very good about caring for my skin, until I started working for a luxury spa. After facials, skin care and professionals helping me create a skin care routine, the Eminence skin care line is definitely my favorite!
@@megmaycock8681 they’re really good I only have two products that aren’t ordinary (cleanser and toner) and my skin has improved immensely. Just make sure to be careful with the acids and masks and with mixing stuff
The Ordinary has transformed my skin to the point that my actual dermatologist asked me what I have been doing for my skin to look this good. The fact that Hyram thinks that you should have a complete routine (including cleanser and sunscreen, which seems to be his only reason pretty much that he thinks it is “complimentary to a regimen” than a perfect skin line) is sooooo old school and outdated. Like those old ladies that had to be “i am a Clinique/Estee Lauder/La Prairie/whatever girl” 🙄 Who, like literally WHO, that knows about and researches skincare doesn’t pick and choose gems from different brands to build their own perfect regimen? Like... gurl.
same. Krave Beauty is barely purchaseable in my country because it's sold at a premium And Cerave is like a gem - like... really expensive considering everyone's saying (in YT videos) that they're a drugstore brand.
Would love to get a video to see if brands have updated in the past few years/any new great or terrible brands around! To be fair I haven't checked the latest videos but y'know, commented anyway for algorithm reasons and general support of the channel x
In the 2000s Paula Begoun was my Hyram then she came out with Paula’s Choice. Even if Hyram does start his own line it still wouldn’t be a miracle brand. There already has been a ton of knowledgeable professionals who have built their own brands.
Clinique is the brand that got me into skincare back in middle school lol I would steal my moms Clinique 3 step system (wash, tone, moisturize) and I would go to school and have my friends touch my face (eww) and tell me how soft my skin was. Now I realize it’s just because I was putting alcohol on my oily puberty skin lollll definitely agree with meh
I think it’s been said multiple times before, but a Korean skincare version of this list would be great for the Asian subscribers! I would love a rank of all the popular brands like Innisfree, Etude House, Klairs, SomeByMi, Benton, IUNIK, Neogen etc. Most of the brands mentioned in this video are really expensive in Asia (& some not even available) while Korean skincare brands are more affordable & easy to get ahold of. Looking at the reviews on my local online skincare stores tells me that a majority of ppl watch Hyram lol, so give the audience what they want 😉
The Ordinary: HE PUT US WHERE?!?! Curology: well duh have you seen our ads, we’re professionals Inky List: Aw thank you Hyram Proactive: I mean everyone else is dragging us, why not hyram? Paula’s choice: YESS HYRAM APPROVED!! CeraVe: oof that was a close one, thanks St. Ives: just... we’re just happy we’ve made it to the feet
When you decide on a go-to default product, like the cleanser you mentioned that’s constantly sold out, put it on your subscriptions list for auto delivery, and you’ll also benefit from the subscription discount.
lmao I literally got this same idea for a comment, scrolled a little bit, didn't see this one, and posted it. Then I scrolled down a TINY bit further and you beat me to it🤣 I was actually proud of myself for a second

I am 10 years deep in the skincare industry. Licensed and experienced. This kid from Honolulu knows what is up when it comes to skin health and enhancing your skin's inner beauty. He is truly an inspiration to my 39 year old self. He speaks a universal language when it comes to what you should be doing and not doing when it comes to caring for your skin. You do you Hyram, keep slaying honey 🙌
@@shaynalange7488 I think it can be great for tackling acne and anti aging. The downfall is if you stop using it, your skin will react. Also, you can't really incorporate any active ingredients or other things like serums and moisturizers while using Curology. (I personally am way too much of a beauty product hoarder to devote my skin to Curology although I do think it is a great holy grail product! )My best tip of advice if you do decide to try it is invest in a great sunscreen and wear her religiously hunny👏👏😘
I´ve been binge-watching all of the videos in your channel and I love it. It is so interesting to get educated on what the actives on the products we use mean. I will try to put together a skin care routine but at the same time I will check in with my dermatologist after I´ve made a list of all the products to get the approval to use. Thank you for the content!
Watching this in 2023… i love paula’s choice and never heard you talk about it until now! Im glad to hear it’s hyram approved… that means A LOT! So I’m glad I use these products!!!! It’s crazy because i used to use ole Henderson sheer transformation and it used to be my go to! Then i took a break and it came back to it and it was soooooo bad!
ive been using the cleanser from clean and clear far about a year now and it has helped my breakouts soooo much. i have a hard time believing something could work BETTER than that but im willing to try!

Sorry if someone else has already commented this.
I love your videos because I learn without having to waste money on products that don't work. I have always struggled with cystic acne but also have sensitive skin so a lot of the products that clear up my acne will irritate my skin and dry it out. I just turned 40 so now I'm really concerned about signs of aging. Fine lines, discoloration, dullness, etc. Wish I had someone like you to help me create an epic skincare routine!!! ❤ Thanks for teaching me 🙌😘 now I'm 40 and also
So i just discovered this channel a couple of days ago and binge watched almost all of Hyram's videos. I have learned SO MUCH. Leaving makeup wipes in 2020 where they belong 😌
Should’ve reviewed some more brands like Avene, La Roch Posay, Cetaphil, elf, Murad, Mad Hippie, innisfree, Farmacy, Milk, Ren, La Neige, The Body Shop....
I've tried 5 different products from Farmacy and I think they are "meh." I love their eye cream and the face wash is okay. The moisturizer is awful. It's tacky and sticky.
The only product I like from Avene is the facial moisturizer. Moisturizes without feeling heavy. Everything else is blah. My favorite face wash is from the orange Murad line. Cleans without drying me out and leaves me glowing. La Roche Posay has an amazing body lotion that reduced the lines in my hands but I'm cheap.
Definitely. Even more so I think the labeling is a bit odd b/c IMO “I’ll tolerate it” & “meh” descriptively sound like one & the same; I’d have called the 2nd category “decent enough” or “good enough”🤷🏻♀️
I’m 38 and been caring for my skin since the 90s. There are dermatologist brands out there. Even Paula Begoun who was my Hyram started Paula’s Choice. There are products that work perfectly for you but there will never be a miracle brand.
If you’re new here: - we don’t do makeup wipes - if you wear makeup think about double cleanse - no products with fragrance - diy skincare is a big NONO - Eye creams are expensive moisturizers - Sunscreen!!! Every. Single. Day - Chemical exfoliators >>>>>>> - YES to Naicinamide - (Drying) Alcohol in ingredients = DON’T BUY - No raw coconut oil on skin! If you do you’re choosing death - We like ‘The Ordinary’ and ‘CeraVe’ -We also stan ‘The Inkey list’ - Always moisturize (even if u have oily skin) - We need to take down St. Ives - We do shoulder shakes daily ;)
Nope. Alcohols are not all bad. I know Hyram preached about avoiding alcohols, but he ain't a cosmetics chemist. Alcohols can act as delivery agents, solvent for active ingredients and plant extracts. Some may have stinging sensation upon application of products with alcohol but that doesn't reflect what's happening on the skin physically, unless the skin is damaged. Lastly, not all alchols are the same. Take glycerin as an example. It is a type of alcohol, but it acts as a humectant for the skin. Hyram is a great skincare enthusiast, but I'd take his advice with a grain of salt anyway.
I was using the effaclar line from la Roche posay for a few months, but it has ingredients that I don’t want to use anymore (palmoil, polymers, fragrance, dimethicone) i guess if you are ok with using stuff that is bad for the environment and perfume and dimethicone don’t bother your skin it is ok... don’t know about the other lines of la Roche posay tho
@@martajosefina9115 Same!!😢😢 my dermatologist recommended me Effaclar, the cleanser (contains a harsh sulfate) .. then this toner that contains alcohol denat. at the second position... and the only product I think is really worthy is the Effaclar K , it has salicylic acid and improved my skin texture in 3 weeks! I believe there are better brands, more affordable than La Roche Posay and fragrance free. ( But I will feel very embarrassed when going to the derm and tell her that I don’t want to use the cleanser and the toner anymore)
Paula’s Choice has literally changed my skin. I wish Biossance would have been on this video. The eye cream literally got rid of my fine lines. Loved this video!
Thanks for honest ratings of the brands. Been considering getting something for my face that was just a little above drug store brands in price but there's so many. This narrows it down well. Your insight is invaluable
Make a part two: Vichy, la Roche Posay, bioderma, Olay, garnier, Loreal, avene, shiseido, NeoStrata, prevage, strivectin, aveeno, Cetaphil, live clean, ponds, etc. I’m just naming drugstore brands etc. you didn’t mention. There’s probably more.
Yes please!! I also vote for him to include some brands that have either "influencer-like" owners or have been in hot water like The Drunk Eleplant, Dr. Dennis Gross, Glow Recipe, Morphe Skin Care, and Kylie Skin Care (LMAO though we kinda know how he feels about most of these)
I spent the past ten years trying all sorts of brands from budget to high end, and my favourite has got to be Elemis marine products, they just work for me, and they sink in well, and make my skin look really good, and never break me out.

I would also recommend you look into K-Beauty, as the products I've seen are some of the best. Check out Soko Glam or Stylevana :)

- Always moisturize (even if u have oily skin)
- We need to take down St. Ives
- We do shoulder shakes daily ;)
So, no need to use eye cream?
@@alexandernotthegreat well said lol. A skin care specialist? What kind of title is this ? He is definitely a skin care enthusiast.
