It was a sick video, there is a 20min video about it, I rather not want you to watch it, its sick... but... Why did he do it? Did he want relitation? Did he want to revenge people who got killed by muslims? I can't find his statements.

Sadly the whole video I saw was 17 minutes, and I gotta admit you hit the nail on the head. It's literally a 1st person look at a psycho from an absolute rare perspective. I saw the 11 minute video, the first gun he used was a semi automatic shotgun. He blasted 3 people with it, when it was empty he just threw it on the ground and pulled up his ar 15 from a single point sling. (Here in Denmark the news claimed it was fully automatic, which was a lie.) The psychopath then proceded exactly like you said, he did drop all his magazines in the hallway like an idiot.. He went back and forth from hallway to the assembly room a few times and reloaded about 4 or 5 times. He also shot people out on the street, when he drove away from the place he also shot a few people from his car with a pump action shotgun.
I saw a total of 5 different guns in his car, but only saw him use 3 of them. Fortunately he didn't get to detonate any of his firebombs.
Damn lunatic. Not only did he kill a bunch of innocent people, he also ruined the gun hobby for a lot of people. They are already restricting the gun laws in NZ.

Yeah, that's pretty much what happend, that's a great summary for such a horrific event. I'm not religious and I am just as shocked as a Jewish individual, Christian, and so on. I just hope that one day we can just try and unite, I know that it will proabably never happen, but if we all stay armed and ready for things like this to happend although we wish it never will, that's the only way to prevent these things. I am willing to bet in situations like these, if 1 or more people were armed and were able to try and stop the threat, then things may have been different.

I agree. Worst video I have seen is two soldiers burnt alive by ISIS and you see them carbonized alive. It's the only video I've regretted watching in my life. Horrific. (mind you I don't go around looking for the most gore videos, there might be worse ones out there. But shootings usually aren't the worst ones to look at. We're kinda used to see thoses in movies or even in video games. They're just extremely sad to watch because you know that everytime you see someone go down it's a life that's taken away for no reason.
@GlitchMod willy pete is definitely bad stuff but I don't think I would compare that to ISISs videos. I've seen a 6 year old execute dozens of prisoners, people burned alive, drowned, beheaded, etc. The Israeli govt is far from perfect but I have yet to see them behead anyone, or burn them alive in a cage, or make a kid shoot people in the back of the head.

thank you for this video. as someone from new zealand, this entire situation has been so hard for all of us, as we never have had anything happen before. I accidentally viewed the video on twitter and it has haunted me ever since. such a scary situation, as a small country you know everyone from every corner and i have a lot of family there, and to think it could have been my family mowed down by that monster is frightening.
Officer 401, as a Muslim-American, I greatly appreciate your talking about this tragedy. It is so heart warming and reassuring to see the brave men and women of law enforcement standing behind the Muslim community in our time of need. Locally, the chief of our local PD came to our mosque and reassured the community personally, and Police cruisers were outside the mosque during prayers. Again, it is extremely heart-warming and it means so much to see you and other LEO's show support for our community.

In 13 years of EMS, I have seen the same sorts of things you have and no amount of exposure to those aspects of our careers can ever prepare you for watching what actually LED to those horrific things we see. Regular people have no idea what other humans are capable of doing to other living beings. Not much shocks me anymore either, but I agree, this video is bone-chilling!
EMS here, too. I'm not ashamed to say that I'm not immune to nightmares. Nothing shocks me anymore, either...but if you think about it, that's not necessarily a good thing. My husband knows now that when I come home quiet, to not ask how my day/night went.
Aside from the tragedy this officer makes me so proud to be an American, this channel lets you recognize the patriotism it takes to be an officer.

Personally, I was on my first day of work experience, in the van, driving back to the workshop, saw armed cops on every corner of the school near me(my old high school), and in front of the next school a couple minutes down the road, and then then I looked at my phone, and saw almost every news site had it on their front page.

Video game excuses are an intentional way to divert attention from whatever the actual problem is always, be it access to guns or the actual stated ideology of the terrorist.
There are indeed millions and millions of players of many different shooters and such, with the industry itself being worth billions. Yet these acts of violence are almost always stated very clearly to be the result of a political ideology or sometimes a weird personal matter (being fired or some such). From the sounds of it white supremacists in particular seem to have a habit of writing out their manifestos in clear detail about why they do what they do. Yet people seem to think they're not actually serious about it or something.
I watched it out of curiosity and it really makes me realize just how fragile life is.
In less than 5 seconds you go from alive with hopes and dreams and desires and love... to a motionless sack of flesh as useless as lifeless dirt.

@@deathwing491 it shouldn't take 12 minutes to respond to a shots fired. Here in the US it takes about 4-5 minutes in the city for that. NZ was severely unprepared on how to handle this.
The best response time would be from an armed citizen. More good people should arm up and carry. I know this was NZ not US so I don't know what their laws are, but all good people everywhere in the world should have the right to own firearms to defend themselves and others from monsters like this.
Thank you for addressing this 401. It is bloody shocking and the part that made me angry is when he shot the lady on the ground and she was saying “Help Me, Help Me.” Just made me cringe. I live about 30 minutes away from christchurch of where the incident happend. All schools in the surrounding areas in christchurch and about 15 minutes out of christchurch schools were in lockdown.

I’m a Security Officer at a very popular hotel and active shooters are always on my mind.. When will it happen, where will it begin, there’s just no way to be prepared.
Same job man. Except I work official or government buildings. Sometimes I feel anyday it will happen. Bomb threats and death threats happen all the time, when that happens we usually go into lockdown and call state police to add security. But one of these days I feel a crazy mofo anti government dude will waltz in and start popping off. It's scary to think about.

I am an active shooter response instructor..and can tell you that being that narrow minded and focusing on the least logical threats leads to complacency which is the downfall to any security operation.
There are free classes you csn take online that teaches you about active shooters: mindset, reasons, indicators, etc..there is a good one called the "pathway to violence fact sheet" by Homeland Security, as well as a few others. If you want more knowledge send me a message here ir ask in this thread and I'll send links to this and other free training where can get certificates, etc. Knowledge is power..

Stopping an active shooter is more about proactive implementation than reactive gun shootouts. We have a generation of schools built for the cold war with fall out shelters in the basement. We need school with double entry foyers and security glass. Forcing an active shooter to waste 10min trying to break into the building will protect more lives than hunting him in the hallways trying not to shoot a student.
Cops come after the evil has been committed, armed citizenry is the only way to stop these events

One of the most scary moments of this video for me was when he was leaving the scene, you hear and see tons of first responders hauling ass to the church, not knowing that they are passing the suspect on the road.

I am a New Zealander and came across that shooting video by accident and was the most horrible thing to see as a 15 year old. I can’t believe that this could happen and how a person can be soo proud of his crimes.

But its people like you and the rest of the community here that keeps me positive and helps me forget those memories and look out for others.

One was them cutting the child out of a woman's womb, then showing her killing the baby, then killing her.
What's the most fucked up is that they got off with life in prison. No death penalty in their country. And their parents are filthy rich, so they sat in court smiling, knowing that nothing will happen to them.

The man you mentioned in the doorway, he literally said "Salaam" to the terrorist. I have been told that it translates to "peace" His first victim greeted him warmly and got dropped for it. Also, as he left the building for the last time there was a woman fleeing through a gate to the left. He fired two shots and proceeded to walk up to her where she fell in the street. While she is laying there injured shes screaming "Help me, Help me" that was until he stood over her, aimed the gun and fired two more shots execution style in the back of her head. If that wasn't enough he then jumped into his car and ran over her corpse as he left the scene and continued the rampage from his Subaru firing a shotgun at people fleeing the Mosque. Fucking disgusting human being, We dont have the death penalty here in NZ but god i wish we did for this guy. We have never experienced anything like this here, If anything its a wake up call for our country and change WILL come from this tragedy.

We are from Christchurch New Zealand where it had happened. You are right, we do not speak of his name nor mention anything about him nor what he did. Soon after the event, lead my the PM there was no mention of the person who acted in violence whatsoever even on media. All we see are support, donations, programs of support, healing and collaborations. Violent man acted wanted to be known, and he did not receive it. People were hugging and supporting all the ones needed help until now.

The full 16 minute video is even more chilling... the upbeat music, the calmness of the shooter, his casual commentary, the sheer number of rounds dispensed, the piles and piles of people... chilling... didn't feel like I was watching a video of people dying but one of a video game or movie. I've literally seen everything from suicides, to executions, to murders, everything. And I've watched videos like that for years but when I first watched that gopro video, my heart started racing. It genuinely scared me. The more I watch it, the less it scares me but no video has ever made me feel that way before.

When I was really little, a friend of the family was walking his boat, and ran into my mother, father, as and I. I was looking at the bullet slide on his gun belt, and he looked at me and told me it was okay for me to touch them. As a kid, that was the coolest thing EVER!!! you guys see too much of everything, and my hat is off to you. Aside from getting 98 out of 100 on a test once, that's the closest I ever got. I was across the road from one of the mosques at the time of the shooting but it's still so hard to wrap my head around what happened. He sent the whole city into lock-down. I have never been forced to shelter in a friend's house while being told to stay away from the windows because the police were still looking for everyone involved and I hope I never have to again. It was four hours before I could even attempt to drive home but I am one of the lucky ones. The death count is now up to 50 and could still climb as many are still in hospital. As names continue to filter through I'm making more and more connections to those that have died, either through friends or childhood. I was buried under rubble during the earthquakes that struck this city 8 years ago but this attack has had a much greater impact on the country and the city. New Zelanders don't do this. This isn't what we stand for. I've seen attacks and mass shootings through the media throughout the world but no one imagined that it would happen here. I haven't seen the video because I don't believe I have a right to see people fleeing for their lives and I definitely cannot stand to watch people I know die. That's not for my eyes and it shouldn't have been for the eyes of the four year old girl who has been flown to the only child specialist in the country after doctors fought for over 12 hours to get her stable enough to fly. Her father is currently laying in Christchurch hospital fighting for his life. I am so angry and so heartbroken but I am also so incredibly determined to be a part of putting this city and our community back together. We will overcome this. Thank you Officer401 for highlighting how deranged a person has to be to commit an attack like this. This is the worst attack New Zealand has ever seen but I encourage you to keep watching my country as we build a better and brighter future for all who call New Zealand home.
