Looks like a beautiful tank. Quick tip for the silicone. Once u have applied your bead of silicone, spray with a soap and water solution and use a popsicle stick to scrap off any excess. Its cleaner and leaves a solid, smooth bead.
Thanks for the video. Just a suggestion, when you'd like to smoothen the silicone glue, dip your finger into soapy watwr beforehand. Not just the glue won't stick, but it will be a loot smoother on the edge
THANK YOU for clearly showing how to build terrariums for ourselves! I'm in the USA. For two months, I've visited practically every aquarium and petshop in my area. I viewed countless online aquarium shops too. Not only were there no sizes available for the sizes I wanted [there are few options via these mass-produced tanks], but the unhappy reviews about the selections gave me pause. So, I reached out to three companies that make custom-sized tanks -- but the cost quotes were very high. Maybe spending the money for a custom-made, 45 gallon, full-water aquarium (for tropical fish) makes sense: the water pressure and weight needs strong corner seals. But, for a terrarium with minimal or no deep water -- I can now build one myself ... THANKS to you!
Spraying soapy water on the bead as well as your finger helps to prevent the silicone from sticking where it shouldnt and helps to even it out. Soapy ice cream stick works great aswell.
When it comes to cutting glass I also found that once you get the flow of it you can even just cut it by pretty much just lifting it up, atleast with the glass cutter I use and glass I use it's that simple. And even if it doesn't apart that simply and it breaks crooked you can just chip off the excess part that stayed there with the back of the cutter, that simple. If anyone is hesitating on trying to make terrarium, don't it's easy, fun and relaxing.
You have amazing skills! Beautiful scape, and thank you for showing the process of cutting and assembling the glass. The only thing I'd change, is to somehow hide the bank of the stream, because it doesn't look very natural. Maybe cover it with some small rocks, or more moss? Other than that, everything looks perfect!
You can use the other end of your glass cutter to tap the piece you're cutting in half. I would just lift it a few off of the table, use the back side of the the tool, and tap upwards. I learned that technique in this glass studio class that I took, plus you'll probably want a square carpet mat. The carpet mat prevents the tiniest glass from rolling off of the table. Love your videos. I can't wait to try and make a mini pond for my little art studio.
not really, after seeing this video i bought some picture frames from the thrift store and bought a glass cutter and it honestly is way easier than i thought. The only thing was that my ruler kept moving around, but that was a quick fix with some dubble sided tape.
I just came across your channel love it! ❤️ now I'm wanting to make one ... I love aquariums and watching stuff like that flourish. Ty for your hard work, your videos really have gotten me passed that thinking oh what if I do this wrong or I can't do this... tyvm keep up the good work!
The spray foam can be dry to the touch, but still flexible and you could have pressed it into shape much more easily than, shaping and patching. Still beautiful work!
Another amazing build - gorgeous!! May i ask what water you use in your tanks with a water feature? Normal tap water or reverse osmosis? And do you change the water regularly or filter it somehow? Thank you very much for sharing your work!
Is this self-contained, so one does not to disturb the habitat by cleaning it every month (or spend a great deal of money to hire a service to do the cleaning)?
while it is possible to keep red centipedes in a terrarium, it should not be fully sealed. Providing adequate ventilation and monitoring environmental factors are essential to ensure the wellbeing of the centipede and any other inhabitants.
Hey can you make a not natural terrarium. So dont make it Look so natural dont make every flower everywhere so no natural Look. Make a full Planed and perfect planed terrarium with plants and moss with which it wont Look wild and so, for example with this really Slow growing moss and flowers which will not change much. When there is a big stone Formation you often spread some little stones around to make it Look more natural and i think it would be an interesting video doing the oposite so dont spread little stones around it make it really planed and separate the different parts of it fe stones moss plants wood water
i would agree too, but in the end of the video he shows the results and the filter still sendig the same amount of water. I think this is cause the tank has almost no organic waste, and the filter it's ultra covered with filter foam
@@truedrew5508 yes, that's what I said. I can't say that it's didn't work well bc he shows the results after 8 weeks. A really amazing build from this guy

Thanks! I'm gonna start my first terrarium soon so tips like this are extremely useful. Any other tips?
I just made my first aquarium thanks to you and serpadesign
That is awesome!

This is absolutely amazing! Cheap, doable, and gorgeous! Well done!
Really appreciate it! Thanks for watching 😃
Incredible video! Who’d have thought a hinge from silicone. Also love the fact we got to see an 8 weeks later shot and can see it thrive.

Really really beautiful....good for people who are unable to grow plants in an aquarium....:)!

My anxiety when he lifted the whole tank by the hinged door 😬
😅

A small frog might love to stay in this :)
Beautiful. I'm still a bit scared of the glass cutting, but I want to build something like this in the future, so will have to try it. Hehehe
I think making those boxes out of sliced up picture frames is way more difficult than you realize it is!
what makes you think that?

Amazing build. It's really fascinating and calming watching :)
Would be great to see another palundarium somethimes ^^
Thanks! Got some more paludariums on the way:)
Ahhh man this looks so good
Thanks mate!
That's so great. I'm trying really hard to produce videos to be as great as you. you are my idol.
Amazing! Thanks for the info, seems so doable and fun! What about light requirements, do you keep it in direct light?
Yeah, I agree. I never made a terrarium. Well I did that’s for dead fish like a little grave but still good work❤
Looks great , thanx for sharing
The spring tails are probably like alright a water slide . DIBS lol very cool build
the ball end of the glass cutter if so you can gently tap the score on the glass and it separates easier than hitting it against an edge
amazing video as always
Thank you😃

ah, and where do you buy all your plants? This much variety for each build must cost a fortune :O
Nice relaxing vid
Even though I haven't watched it yet I know it will be
lovely
Fabulous
yea at the start it will be fine but overtime that silicone will weaken
Nice nanopalu👌
Make a new vivarium like previous vivariums🎉
Genius
Is this self-contained, so one does not to disturb the habitat by cleaning it every month (or spend a great deal of money to hire a service to do the cleaning)?
Good 👍👍👍👍
Nice
Great job! one question: Do you spray the plant everyday or the ambiant humidity is enougth? Thx !
very nice build and very informative, hope I can make something like this someday
Glad you found it helpful!:)
Could you leave a link to those frames? I'm having a hard time finding something suitable
same
for some reason i missed the notification for this video.
Great! What are white beetles for? What are they called?
Would a traditional style fish tank work as well?
I dont know if anyone has said this or if its even viable, but wouldnt a check valve do the trick for getting the river water to trickle slowly?
Is the pump on all the time?
I Love your voice
Where can i buy the glass? I just cant find a place to buy those.
a little fish? a tiny frog?- anyways this is soooo cool
I am gonna make it
Any light for plants to grow?
Niiiiice
What's the size of the tank? thanks!
What can I use instead of sphagnum moss in the substrate?
Can isopods live in this or is it too wet?
very cool
love u
How’s it growing?
You referred to "picture frames"...I'm sure you meant panes? Picture glass?
Where to place the light....???
What is the size of the tank???
I think it's size 60x30x50
❤❤❤
Where to by this glasframes...😢
Hiya, would you be able to tell me where you got the glass from, im also from the uk.
I get them from esk warehouse:)
Hi
is it ok to have red centipedes in sealed terrariums? i added a few into mine without checking.
while it is possible to keep red centipedes in a terrarium, it should not be fully sealed. Providing adequate ventilation and monitoring environmental factors are essential to ensure the wellbeing of the centipede and any other inhabitants.
How much will it be for you to make me one?

Love your builds man but you need to stop using expanding foam and start building with small stones and cement

this is great but non working. the fact you cant 'clean' youre filter... in a few weeks the flow of water will stop.
I agree, they look great but will not last any length of time, even with the sponge they will soon get blocked.
i would agree too, but in the end of the video he shows the results and the filter still sendig the same amount of water. I think this is cause the tank has almost no organic waste, and the filter it's ultra covered with filter foam
literally shows it 8 weeks later working perfectly fine

Looks nice but it's boring without something living in there like vampire crabs or mini frogs? Idk just my opinion.
Then build your own and put what ever you want..
