That’s very cool. Yes, Trent is quite the Poet and is wonderful at writing music that evokes feeling. His embracement of the dark side of being alive is insurmountable. Oh and just because you had a tear does t mean you’re a gay, or weak at all. It just means that you can really explore pain. Best, oh and to the degree you dug the vocals and the chicks contribution and I happened to dislike it. It seems like it takes away from the dark.

@@BeamMeUpAlready HI fellow toaster . Nice to come across a mind that I'm able or one that's wiling to converse. My gratitude should be a good thing . My intentions are. Yes... yesterday was thier 50th anniversary. I read Nick Mason is sponsoring.. something that interests fans to compete for a prize?? I was to evolved with over 10HRS ( almost ) straight NIN .. my buddy from my pre season kept shooting me clips of the Gods.... hahaha That stuff is just way too tantalizing to not let it play out. Then I scrambled back in a hurry to continue with my own concert in my head. You know what I'm saying, feeling, goosebumps on top of goosebumps. Hahahaha. I'm going to get back into the Nails again. I'm trying to OD on them. Well enjoy your day, Rock on!
I still think that the Lights in the Sky Tour is "the one" for me with the motion tracking + live depth processing. Have you seen videos of it? (Still, I do agree _all_ of their tours have perfect light shows.)
Imagine touring like this, putting every bit of heart/soul/emotion into your performance every single time, and still loving what you do and still giving the fans what they've grown dependent upon. Trent is a true performer. Many performers these days don't understand commitment or the pain it takes to achieve greatness. Sell your soul for the fame is the name of the game in this day.

Trent Reznor was 39 years old (Born May 17th, 1965) as of August 24th, 2004. The evening I took my son, both of us NIN fans, to see NIN at the Hollywood Bowl for our birthdays. My son was 25 going on 26, I was 43 going on 44. 1965,1970,1988. Two GenXers and one Millennial . A gift to my son that still keeps on giving. We talk about that mind blowing show all of the time. I introduced him to NIN in his mid teens. Music transcends time and space. I just worked out today to NIN, again and always.
Saw them at Pemberton this summer. Didn't really know much about them/him at the time... I've always kind of just glossed over them in my musical education. I thought it was going to be something completely different... I really enjoy Reznor's solo/soundtrack stuff. This show though... they were the standout performance for me at the festival. Unbelievable energy and sounded so great live and Trent just goes full bore, sweating like a beast giving it his all. Made me a fan for life and I'm working back through the catalogue and discovering so much awesome music from them, kind of become a but obsessive lately.
I started listening to them around May time, and I've become more and more gripped by Reznor's work since. I've still only listened to half of their albums as I can't help but listen to their stuff over and over, finding new little things to love about their songs. Trent is a true genius, and I feel like NIN is one of the most important bands in the last 20 years.
I saw this tour in Toronto in early October 2013 and it is literally the best show I have ever seen and I have been to 3000-4000 shows in my lifetime (I also used to do smaller scale concert lighting and starting working in the Buffalo Music scene when I was a teenager.)
I watched NIN in 2007 on Sziget Festival in Budapest.... It was insane!! They had nearly the same LED wall in front of the stage, only smaller... and you only could see the shadows of the band...it was mystic and blowed my mind
This live set is so good it's as close to being there as you could get without being there. The band is tight af. The lights. The stage show. The whole presentation. Awesome.
I was introduced to NIN when I was about 9 years old. I shared a room with my brother. I slept on top bunk. I had a cheap boom box I got for my birthday. I went with my mom to buy groceries at Walmart and we happened to pass through the cds. She asked me to pick one off the end cap. I chose Pretty Hate Machine. For the next year. I fell asleep listening to Something I can never have and Terrible lie. I'm 28 now and am still amazed that NIN at this very moment still holds my attention. My all time favorite artist / band.
+Mathiue David Personal opinion... Im 31 just like you but I started listening to NIN when they released "closer" and there is no band you can compare them to!! Agreed with you they are timeless but there is only one other band that makes me feel this way... Radiohead!!... Apologies for the english and cheers from Costa Rica!
@@Itiswhatitisitiswhatitiswhatit yup. As if the NiN on each box of nails wasnt enough of a giveaway. Although i have to admit, despite Reznor coursing through my veins i have to choose quake 2's soundtrack vs the ambience dreamboat that Q1 had. I wonder what ever happened to Sonic Mayhem. .
@Don Wright I know! Yeah!! People need to know wtf. QUAKE is the f#ck!ng $#¡+ in gaming and simulation. And if people started to hear NIN they would be less idiot.
Lost my fiancé to suicide a day after our breakup and you always make me feel heard and cope with my loneliness and unbearable pain. I can't thank you enough for your music which constantly gives me comfort and peace. THANK YOU! NIN FOREVER! 🖤🤘🔥
It's a different thing when you listen to NIN from a CD as opposed to watching them play live. I mean, the live version is an experience, not just a concert.
Trent definitely puts a good deal of planning to his shows. He really wants people to have a good live experience, not just see people play his songs. It's a show after all. I just saw him a couple weekends ago and he had carefully planned a different light show for each song that was played. It was amazing!
Literally me this week. I've been listening to their music for about a year now as I discovered/decided to start listening to them during June 2013. Decided to watch some live videos out of curiosity. I am completely AMAZED and cannot stop watching!!!
NIN has helped me with that for years. Trent's music is so honest, it's hard to think of another artist who can translate their emotions into music, and have his lyrics be vague enough to be relatable. Maybe Radiohead with a song like Creep.
Having Lisa and Sharlotte as backing singers was the dimension I didn't know was missing in NIN. They truly add something to the songs. The Big Come Down sounds like soul music here
all time low was so good with their vocals added! they added so much depth i wouldn't have been able to previously imagine! they're super solid vocalists, amazing talent!
Totally agree. Had the same reaction to Noel Gallagher adding female vocalists to his lineup, except he uses them on the albums too and it's extraordinary.
@@MrIgorek13normally I’d say Dave Matthew’s Band but it’s hard to choose a specific performance. So for this one I’ll say Taylor Swift: opening night for Reputation Tour. I didn’t know I was a “Swiftie” until that night. 😅 But also seeing The Used in a super intimate venue was also really cool. Ahhh!!!
I talked my mom and sister into a NIN concert a while back. My mom was in her 70's. My sister learned "head like a hole" existed and was thrilled. We had a good time. Doesn't it make you feel better?
Classic 90s, Current, Contemporary, [angry @Sebastian Garcia] Neoliberalism - suck it....whatever dude, label it what you want. The first time I heard it on the radio in high school, I was hooked. My appreciation has only exploded, especially since he sorted himself out.
Followed NIN since first album. I would have paid large sums to have seen this live! Everything is on fire here. Despite all life changes in the past thirty years, I can always come back to Trent. Absolutely one of a kind. Thank you.
I watched this thinking that bass player is the best musician on the stage and looks exactly like Pino.... I never even considered that it was actually Pino in Nine Inch Nails.
the drummer is a huge part of this overall amazing af vibe. hands down one of the best live shows on here. Im a 40 yr old metal drummer from cnda and this show is tbh on another level of perfection.
@@jamesmotter1221 Tool's drummer is insanely good yeah ^^ even though prefer Mastodon's one ! I love the way this drulmer plays anyway, the energy of his drumstyle outscales the majority of drummer imo. I don't get the purpose of your comment by the way
What can i say about how many great things this man has done that all you have not said ? All I know is i am glad he is still here to put out art. Got me through my teenage years through the 90's and continues to , till this day..
Saw this show and it was the most audio and visually stunning shows I’ve ever seen. Just incredible, passionate and atmospheric. Trent is a Musical Genius.
You got that right. I've seen hundreds of concerts over the years. We'll two shows I regret never seeing Pink Floyd & NIN. I'm 62 and this video of NiN is the sbit. Better than I ever thought.
definitely up there. 2nd to only Tool imho as far as lighting and trippy visuals but even that is an unfair comparison because of the difference in styles as this is a far more intense stage presence and as such, the light show is used to greater effect here whereas Tool takes much relaxed and, nuanced approach as well as utilizing the, greatest visual effects possibly ever and the lighting is used more to enhance said visuals. They both sound pitch perfect live which is incredible considering how tight the original compositions are. 2 of the greatest bands to ever do it live. The 2 best actually imo... and they are still doing it as good now as they were 2 decades ago. breath takingly incredible
Man, it's awesome to see Trent's progression as an artist... This was 2013... only a few years after I had seriously gotten into Trent as an artist... and he's ripping it. Still is to this day. Thanks Trent for the endless inspiration. Glad to see there are others out there who appreciate your art as much as I try to.
After a decade since this came out, I haven't seen any live performance coming close to it (and I've seen plenty) .. Everything is just perfect and artistic to the roof.. Thank U NIN !!
2021. Here for it again. This was one of my favorite NIN shows. I was right at the front, in between Trent and Robin. The lighting for this was mind blowing to see. Trent. You’re a sorcerer genius. 🖤🙏🏼✨
I wish all their shows were like this...not that i was disappointed. I was able to see them in the lights tour in Billings, MT, (small townish) and it was really nice and a close and sort of intimate show, still...but the vastness and articulation of this particular show blows my mind, and I keep coming to it again and again. It is absurd what is done with lights. I am a tech behind the screens geek, and this is still so awesome....just a right-on-show. Thank you is what we owe to the record of this. What a nice thing to have access to. So to be sure, THANK YOU. This is appreciated sometimes to tears. - HOD
Best NIN tour ever, Trent you out did yourself! AWESOME video but for those seeing this for the first time need to see it live to fully appreciate it. Catch this NIN tour, your in for a treat!
EXACTLY what I was like for a looong time. For me it was ''Closer'' and ''Hurt'', discovering it from Johnny Cash's version. Probably was yours two too. Now I literally cannot get enough of this fucking band lmao. I love that they're played with ''real'' instruments live, while it sounds more ''computer-like'' in the studio version which I never said I disliked, I just like when ''real'' instruments are used more. Amazing bad and GORGEOUS concert!!
@@fallen6060I was exactly the same but now I can't get enough of Trent's work either movies or NIN stuff. One of the best live performances on UA-cam this concert
The first time I saw this concert nine years ago I was amazed. Only Reznor could dream up a stage so ethereal and provocative. He's still out there just less threatening in this time of his immense musical career. Back in his heyday, I would never attend his concerts because they scared the hell out of me. If you look at NIN's videos from the late 80s into the 90s they remind you of someone suffering a psychotic break. Trent was too dark for me at that time even though I genuinely liked his music.
Ha ha ha!!! If you've never REALLY been in a mosh pit so close to the band you can get a high five while getting a broken rib from the crowd surge...Well...Sorry,reliving a moment... I think you get the gist of it though...🤘☢️🤘

It's now November of 2024 and I'm 53 so I obviously have been listening to nine inch nails for over 30yrs I've seen them in concert before yet this is beyond phenomenal. The production the lighting the background singers the band and obviously Trent.. he truly in his own League. This whole thing absolutely blew my mind I've listen to it 100 times yet I'm still completely blown away by it every time I watch it.... it's amazing!!!
Wow! If a true artist evolves over time through innovation, and a true leader learns to delegate responsibility to trustworthy sources, I'd have to say Trent Reznor continues to push the apex of his career beyond any fathomable boundaries. The future of music is now, and Nine Inch Nails is the portal.
Dennis Alvey Just out of curiosity - do you have any arguments to claim that Rubin is the best? I mean everyone can have their own opinion for sure but it usually based on something.. Maybe you're gay and love Rubin from the highschool or maybe you like his haircut so much that he became the best for you?
yrussq Dude I'm 43 and been going to concerts since I was 15. I'm really too busy to argue on the internet about drummers.... Sure, I'm gay and like his haircut... Haha. I just enjoy his playing, man. Find something useful to do.
Dennis Alvey I'm 43 and i've been going to gigs since 15 - that's a hell of an argument :))) I'm thrilled)) Honestly my first comment wasn't that serious even to answer on it but you decided to take your time and when i asked seriously about if there's more than personal sympathy - you started your boring blah blah blah. Wtf with you? You're most illogical dude i saw for last year. And it's aside from your gaylove with Rubin certainly...))
I have loved NIN/ Trent since 1989. Been there since the beginning ...I was 19 now I am 51. NIN has been tattooed on the back of my neck for about 12 years now. It's why i chopped all my hair off. lol . I am probably the only person left that just cannot accept Atticus as an OFFICIAL member because to me it will always be just Trent.
Wow I've never seen anything like this in my life...just used to raw performances like Pantera, Slayer, Down, ...seen White Zombie in the 90s and I thought their bigscreens were a visual fuck but technologies have changed so much in 20 years, there's just no way to compare. Totally awesome show.
Oh, dear. I just typed for a half an hour and the screen changed. Basically, I keep turning back to this 1. I am in utter awe with the language of sens required to run this show, and it's execution. What a peaceful thing for him to say. What a totally utouchable way to say it. I am floored every time I listen to or watch aand....this. This is what I needed. In a lot of ways. Enjoy, on many levels...
NIN's meaning really allows me to experience more potent and truer gratitude. And an overall awareness that I like and want to view life through, or with, or whatnot...I like the betterment these guys have brought on through their expressions and music. It's impressive, and it has a voice. I tend to admire the meaning of that voice, at the very least...but I am just the Admirer Of Clouds..
You may think this video was remastered, but you have to be at the concert to appreciate it. The sound is exactly like you would hear it there. Amazing clarity and Trent is still kickin ass
I often have this on when I’m cleaning house. It’s impossible to NOT dance when witnessing greatness like this. I’ve seen nine inch nails play live eight times . They never disappoint.
I went to see QOTSA in 2014 in Brisbane, Australia. This was a NIN/QOTSA tour but I had 0 clue who NIN was, they came on first and played an 18 song set which I did not understand a single thing. It was like seeing but not seeing at all, I was just waiting for it to be over till QOTSA came out. 10 years later and I just discovered NIN thoroughly through a friend, I now finally understand Trent - the rawness, pain and outright IDGAF attitude that channels through the genius of his music, completely unrivalled. I hope they will come out on tour again and I definitely will see them with my entire soul and being this time around. Thank you for your music, Trent. I fucking love you. This show was unfuckingbelievable, no words to describe the band, the sound mix, the lighting design and the way its filmed. I will be back here many many times. With love, A misfit 33 year old hailing from Malaysia
This is my favourite concert in the history of music, after DEPECHE MODE`s Violator Tour (1990)! This NIN`s concert deserves a GRAMMY in the nomination BEST LIGHT SHOW on the ROCK CONCERT! 💯

I'm glad Trent opted for real drums on Copy Of A and Came Back Haunted. It adds so much. The news songs are great live. Can't wait to see them with Queens next year.
I don't think you can compare them live and in the studio, Nine Inch nails has one of the Best production i've ever listened to, but live they are Just energetic as fuck!!
Iv been watching live performances all morning and this has got to be one of the craziest. This feels so masterfully done. Like it's not live. But it is live. Almost feels fake, surreal is the term. Trent Reznor's performance is Surreal here.
I’ve watched this 1,000 times now and never get sick of it. I want to see the Tension tour in person and it was the best concert I’ve ever witnessed, although the crowd was boring and did nothing the entire show. I’ve asked myself what made it so special. Stage show was incredible and the band incredible. But the real genius in this are the two backup singers. They add a whole new direction to Trent’s music.
I was at this show. It was my first time I ever got to see them live, Man Trent slays live. Probably the best concert I have ever been to. I was like 12 rows back from the left side of the stage. AMAZING!

What an incredible show. What surprises me the most is the versatility of Pino Palladino. What a wonderful bass player.
To see him playing that synth part in the beginning of March of the Pigs, I knew immediately this was gonna be a different kind of show. And he immediately became one of my favorite bassists of all time.
im watching this for the 100th time but cant get enough, im always discovering something completely new in it for my ears and eyes :) and Even Deeper - my fav NIN song of all time played with this intensity and beautiful lighting... pure poetry *_*

Me thinks you meant 2004, as opposed to 2014…
@@ujusgotmegged 🤘😁 Me thinks you are correct! ty
I am exactly like that.
Washington Caires i can't get over how masterful sanctified is. the "back up" singers are amazing.. this performance is literally the future

NIN has helped me with that for years. Trent's music is so honest, it's hard to think of another artist who can translate their emotions into music, and have his lyrics be vague enough to be relatable. Maybe Radiohead with a song like Creep.

Trent is timeless. He still sounds just as amazing and the same as Pretty Hate Machine. he is a true musician.
He is a true artist, and a genius.
Timeless is the word.
I’m a nin fanboy but he doesn’t sound like pretty hate machine. Trent can’t scream properly anymore. He stays in the safe zone.
I can't stop listening this. What a way of represent deep human visceral feelings.
listen to his earlier music, and attach to the last 4 years of hell in america to it.
@@sylviacarmichael7525 hahahahaha nice...... so true
No one expresses pain as well as Trent does. He is the Richard Wagner of our day, pure genius.
These ladies with the extra vocals are killing it. Adds a whole deeper level of song.
I often have this on when I’m cleaning house. It’s impossible to NOT dance when witnessing greatness like this. I’ve seen nine inch nails play live eight times . They never disappoint.
Hell yeah. I've folded a lot of laundry to some NIN!
With love,
A misfit 33 year old hailing from Malaysia
This is the single greatest concert there has ever been. After all this time, NIN just gets better. Please don't strop, Trent.
i saw this tour , with Queens stoneage ! they blow Queens away big time
Totally 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nine Inch Nails makes me feel perfectly organically mechanical...Started listening to them in 92'.
This drummer just blows me away. What an amazing band! I am rocking in my LayZeeBoy, feeling thirty years younger!
Hell yeah bro !
This is my favourite concert in the history of music, after DEPECHE MODE`s Violator Tour (1990)!
This NIN`s concert deserves a GRAMMY in the nomination BEST LIGHT SHOW on the ROCK CONCERT! 💯
I have been listening to trent reznor since i was 13. I am 32 now almost 20 years going strong. LOVE his music and creativity.
I’m right there with you lol . I was fourteen
32 years now! Since Halo 1 and Down In It. 1989, I was 15.
@@WingedAce7 Yeah definitely starting to remember all of the halos now lol I Pulled out some of my cd collection and mini disc collection . Dont know why have it all on demand now. But there is something about the heft of the thing in your hand.
Absolutely brilliant. One of my favorite live performances of all times.
And I’m 77. But the music reaches me.
Don’t bogart that joint my friend.
While I'm still here and Hurt makes me cry - thank you, Trent, for your honesty put into your songs and performance. YOU ARE THE BEST 💥
I'm glad Trent opted for real drums on Copy Of A and Came Back Haunted. It adds so much. The news songs are great live. Can't wait to see them with Queens next year.
Thought exactly the same.
Nin is an artist that truly sounds even better live than recorded and polished. That fucking energy!
Trent demands perfection. There is serious talent on that stage. Expensive talent.
Yes live no better show ever
A bunch of true pros on stage.
I was there and from the first 2 minutes onwards I was taken out of space --> best trip (I didnt take anything 😅) I ve ever had in my life 🖤
I’ve watched this 1,000 times now and never get sick of it.
I wasn’t expecting to see Pino here. It was a pleasant surprise!
My favorite cyberpunk of all time. Well, in a close tie with Robin Finck.
