- This polymer clay Sea Turtle is really a lot of fun to create! I love the end result as it looks just like ceramic! Create a pendant, a magnet, a brooch or just let this little cutie keep you company on your desk. I hope you enjoy creating her as much as I did!
Thanks for watching
Alison 💜

First I want to thank you for not only your tutorials but for answering comments posted here not everyone does that and it can make people feel ignored. So THANK YOU!!!!!
These are beautiful! I am wondering if they could be made with smaller cutters for earrings.. think its possible?
MellyAnn Thank you so much, it’s my pleasure. I’m always here to help as well 💜
You certainly could use smaller cutters, scale down your extrusions too and you will have an awesome set of earrings! 😊😊
Thinking Outside The Box .dear Alison I do enjoy your tutorials and I have loved this turtle for so long so today have decided to attempt to make it
So if it turns out will and you a photo don’t hold your breath tho I have to get the paints but will do what I can Because we are in shutdown because of the Corona virus and I am elderly I have to stay put for my own health thank you again for amazing turtle and video Happy Easter from Australia ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sure, why wouldn't it work? You will just need to be gentle.
Hi! Thank you the turtle is lovely! To help manipulate your extruded clay into swirls use two tooth picks intead of fingers to start your swirl. I have arthritus and lost my fine motor skills and this helps with moving around tiny things.
I absolutely adore this turtle! And LOVE to see imagination come from the mind box into reality!
Okay, I think that is officially the neatest thing I've seen in a long while. Thank you for sharing that with us!

Those texture sheets look similar to the material found for fish tank filtration systems.

Love my Walnut Hollow extruder!!!! I put it in a small vise to hold it while I extrude the clay. So much easier ;)
For the texture on the back you could use the uv resin soap bubble technique, it is very simple to do and you could also use uv nail paint/gel etc instead. Beautiful beautiful turtle and the colors are Wow! Thankyou for sharing your talent and creativity. :)
Wow! This is amazing.
That was Briliant! Thank you! Beautiful design.

Soooo cute! Extruder tip... I went and stole a small vise from my hubby's shop. I have it mounted on my table and I just leave my extruder in it. Works to hold it while I twist the handle and crank out the clay. So easy!!!

I have a mini vise that I put my extruded in it and it makes it so easy it has a suction so it is easy to put on most surfaces and just crank it
So I was watching this on my iPad and I kept wondering why you didn’t clean that giant cat hair off your tile...then I realized it was on my screen. DUH!! Fun project - thanks for sharing!
Anne gredler 😂😂😂😂 too funny!!
Thank you! 😊
I really love this, and I'm so excited because I think I can actually do it, I can't believe that! Thank you so so much for sharing. I love your UV resin tutorials, everything you make is always so creative & beautiful, but I almost never have the right supplies to make them. So I'm very happy to see another polymer clay video from you. And I don't have the Lucy Clay colorants, but I plan on just tinting some translucent liquid polyclay w/ different colors & using that instead. And other than that this tutorial requires very little supplies, other than clay of course, and that is so helpful! You said you would eventually make a tutorial using the Golden Interference paints, right? I'm really looking forward to that. I tried finding the DecoArt ones after your video but can not find them anywhere. I did get the Golden brand though & while they're absolutely beautiful they seem to look different than the DecoArt ones, like they're stronger or quite a bit more intense. And I tried making what you showed us w/ the DecoArt interference paints but with the Golden ones it just looked like a big messy jumble of colors, it didn't look anything like what you made which was disappointing. I think they're gorgeous though & would love to use them with polymer clay, I'm just not creative enough to come up with any ideas of my own! But anyway, thank you again for this awesome tutorial that I will be trying out later tonight
Jasmine Healey Thank you sooooo much! You most definitely can tint some clear liquid Sculpey too 😊
I will do a tutorial with the Golden Interference Paints, I just forgot lol
So many ideas in my head it’s hard to keep them straight 😂
You can find the DecoArt Interference Paints here for a good price and reasonable shipping. Click this link and scroll down til you see them.

I like to switch back and forth from UV Resin and polymer clay...I might even start some beading vids soon too.
One never knows what my brain will come up with next. I so enjoy creating and sharing. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Happy creating! 💜💜
Very pretty
Donna Thompson Thank you so much Donna 😊
I believe Helen Briel has those texture sheets. Love this!
I sell Helen Breil stamps and silkscreens and she does not sell these texture sheets that are being shown in this video. Donna Kato sells them at Prairie Crafts for $9.99.
Diane Bruce except they are sold out :/
Thank you Alison he is so cute have wanted to make this lovely turtle for a long time today I am starting but of course I haven’t got the paste and as this Corona virus going on I just cannot go out so hopefully I will get my daughter to go to the shop for me you are so very clever just love it thank you for the tutorial love from Marcia in Australia❤️❤️

Hello! Love, Love, Love this little turtle video and the interference paint video you did!! Keep'em coming!!! I can't wait to see what you have done to the inside of your crafting studio / shed also. I do have a question on the glassymer paints tho, do you need to gently shake them first? And how do you clean glassymer off your paint brush?
I am trying this today. Fingers crossed 😊😊😊❤️
I can’t wait to try this!! Do you think the coloring would work with my pearl powdered micas, then top with resin?
haha 1k Baby:) you are so inspiring.
J adore
Beautiful ,,would look lovely too made smaller as a pendent with matching earrings, really nice work.
Angela Barton For sure! Thank you 😊
So pretty! : )
m Thank you 😊
I bought a pasta machine way back when polymer first came out (back when the clay took 2hrs under the armpit and 4 hrs of kneading to soften it), but have always had problems with it sticking, no matter what I did. So I decided to perfect hand rolling flat sheets and rolling my own coils as well. Never thought to put my extruded in a vase!! But I just HATE cleaning it!
I Love Turtles ❤. I have a Tortoise 10 years old & She would like to have this to try to move & boss around 😆!
'thumbs up' nicely done :)
olivia robinson Thank you 💜
I believe you can purchase those sponge type textures online from a store called Towards Polymer Clay, or maybe it's 2wards Polymer Clay. I've never shopped from them before so I apologize that I don't even know the correct way to spell the name, but Samantha Burroughs has shown very similar textures in one of her videos & I believe that is where she said she purchased them from
I did get very similar textures from 2 Wards. They are out of Australia but shipping is really fast for coming from so far away.
I actually attempted this project. I had a lot of issues. Lol. First off, my clay was too soft and punching the hollow shell out was a disaster. After about an hour I got one perfect shell. I only had an oblong cutter so I had to taper one end. Firing and sanding went well, as well as the flippers. I glued them all on, including the decorations, and baked long and slow. After some touch up sanding, I pained my turtle with Plaid Metallic paints in turquoise, green and purple. When the paint was dried, I used mica powders to burnish and blend the colors, and tiny little black nail crystals for the eyes, which I did make lidded. She also has an open beak and instead of the pretty silver dots you made, I gave my turtle some barnacles. Haha. She is definitely more organic looking than I tried to make. I was shooting for something much closer to yours, but I guess she turned out the way she was supposed to. She is definitely not a replica of yours, so I’ll just say she was inspired by you. 😀. Thank you so much for the tutorial. I needed a challenge. I’ll post her on Instagram when she has her resin coating. ✌🏼AM
AvieMare She sounds wonderful!! 💜
Amazing 😉
Carol Marinemom03 Thank you 😊
I love how you got the top shell curved and cut out. Where did you get the Kato poly paste and how much was it? I have never seen it.
Great instructions love the turtle colors amazing. question instead of uv lights can I varnish instead ?
gladys iezza Thank you and yes, you sure can! 😊
